Post part 2 Please and more teaching on the exact timing on the different notes would be extremly appreciated. Please post it, no one else has on whole youtube... I will give you a gold medal and so will 5000 more people!
man, thanks this helped alot! is the title of the video supposed to be something like that one movie "the history of the world part 1" where there is no part 2?
I´m wondering about the part you play at around 1:35, when you show how to learn to play the song...that part reminds me of some other song, but I just can´t place it...so I thought I´d ask you if it comes straight out of your head or if you play a part of some other song...
thanks for the u2 medley tabs brother they are 100 percent correct and if you have tabs of any other song please send me i shall be really thank full to you
The tuning is standard with the two lowest strings changed down a whole step (E to D and A to G). So it goes from EADGBE (standard) to DGDGBE (D modal). Thanks for mentioning that.
2) I'm the only one who has made a tab of this song - you may just be misunderstanding it. The notes in parenthesis are the "downward strikes" I describe; a lot of folks don't see that at first.
3) G, D, Em, C
Keep fiddling around with it & lemme know how you do. :)
Ok, I passed first two sections but after that tabs sounds pretty shitty. And it's not only my fault so it would be really great if I could take a look on Your tabs (there is a vid uploaded on youtube based on your tabs, so I would have a comparison). Can You?
I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who's ever tabbed this song... My e-mail is on my channel page in the description. Send me the tabs you got & I'll get back to ya' through e-mail.
The only tabs I can find anywhere online are mine that folks have spread around; it was the first tab I ever did, but, even now, knowing how to play the song 100% as Doyle does, the tab is still 99% accurate. So you're probably just misunderstanding what's written - should be quick & easy for us to work through it. =]
BTW that Sungha Jung fella used my tabs - I know because he plays every mistake in the original tab I made before I saw Doyle play it and knew where everything went. lol So you can use that video for reference. I'll try to do a performance video of this song sometime this year or next to help folks.
hey Jer, pls help me, I can't do put together the rhythm and the note, I mean I can't play the rhythm part (the bass, w/ strumming) and the note ( the tone of the song). It's hard to practice my finger's coordination. HELP!
Well do ya' have the rhythm part down? That part really has to be practiced until it's like a second nature to your fingers first. Then just take it one note at a time from the tab. You can see from the start, you strum a G chord, then strike, then a G bass, then an open 2nd string (B), then strike, then 2nd fret 3rd string (A), and that's your first measure/bar right there. Then you hit a D on the bass, and so on. You just gotta break it down. I mean really slow it down so you can learn it! :)
Let me clear you first, I can play the rhythm part only, or the note part only, but not both. I can't do them together. I think it will really take much time for me to learn it.
You don't need one but it helps a lot- especially for "muting" or "dampening" or "choking" notes (whatever you want to call it); I used an acrylic nail on my thumb for a long time before switching, and a ton of successful players use their natural nail or flesh. Just try things out and see what works best for you. :)
You could e-mail me and I'll send them to you. I've been elsewhere and haven't been able to keep up with e-mail, but now I'm back for a good while. Apologies, friend. :)
MAN that guitar sounds amazing, thnx for the tab by the way!
a tip for people learning this, whats i did was copy the tab into my guitar pro software and just speeded it up so you know whats going on, helped me big time
Thanks for posting that it really helps since i can't find the guitar pro tabs to practice the rythm...However it's still kinda hard to catch the right rythm and to keep it stable, so i guess i just need more practice. Anyway thanks for that it really helped me out !
is there any way you could possibly show youself using that techine while showing the tab at the same time, or showing exactly how to play it because i am trying to use the techine but its confusing when i look at the tab.
I'm sorry, man. I'm not really sure how to do that with videos. What I did at first was just slow down the recording from the album a whole lot. I'm thinkin' you could try that and then listen to how the melody is played along with the rhythm really slow to catch how it's done. If you don't have the software, you can e-mail me an audio clip and I'll slow it down for you and send it back. Other than that, are you near Roseville California? :D
That's nice Jer, but when are you gonna post something of your own again? I loved that bit you did with the guitar you were trying to sell. Did you ever sell that yet?
Yeah, my neighbor Ed bought it a while back. Trying to invest that extra money and work towards a DDSM. I'm working on playing a Japanese Pop/Metal thing on acoustic; so that's different- and tough! It's just a cover but I'm trying to write new licks in the song everywhere they'll fit (mostly 'cause I can't make tapping sound all that great on acoustic like some guys!). Maybe 2 months? Thanks for the encouragement.
How are you doing man? I saw that new gypsy music video you did a bit ago! :)
Yeah, I never could do the tapping on acoustic well either. Partly because I'm so out of practice probably. Went too many years without playing much. I try to play some of the things now I did when I was in my late 20's, and it seems nearly impossible. I can barely improvise at all anymore without sounding like a beginner...oh well.
Post part 2 Please and more teaching on the exact timing on the different notes would be extremly appreciated. Please post it, no one else has on whole youtube... I will give you a gold medal and so will 5000 more people!

*EVERYBODY* *NOTE* Check out the tuning very carefully, every string... its not even drop D, its random, but thats probably why you're going wrong.

Thanks a lot!
