@AORCrazy You'll probably need both NeXTSTEP 3.3 RISC and the OPENSTEP 4.0 beta media. Locating NS33/RISC should be fairly straight-forward, you might not have the same luck with the beta though - it is notoriously hard to find.
To be honest, I ended up staying with HP-UX 10.20 on my 712, mostly because I lack a SCSI CD-ROM.
@Verdraith First of all thank you for such a quick reply. The fact is i do have everything i need, SCSI CD-ROM and NS 3.3 which i already installed on my HP. But strange thing happens when i do a clean install. The install passes great and when NS starts to boot up after install, it stucks on Mounting NFS filesystems, when i hi Ctrl-C it hangs after few more loaded daemons, i tried everything, booting into single mode, editing rc. scripts, i even manually configured network but nothing helps...
I actuall prefer this gui to the one in 4.2 It would be nice if it were possible to integrate the GUI from this one, onto 4.2, so you get the best of both worlds, if you get what i mean lol.
@macintologist04 Yeah, I didn't notice until after I'd uploaded it that the input volume was too low (I cut it together while wearing headphones). If you raise the volume of your speakers (or wear headphones) then you should have no problem understanding me.
@TheZapzupNZ :) give a kick-ass audio commentary... just to save me the work ;)
I started off by making 3 videos on OSE, YB, and WO... then decided to finish work on a win32-specific framework because there's a substantial lack of win32 OpenStep apps out there. Although saying that, I managed to find OmniWeb... one just needs to set ones date to 1997 or so (and disable automatic time updates) for it to be usable.
@TheZapzupNZ I consider myself lucky in that I have OPENSTEP Enterprise, YellowBox, and WebObjects... I consider myself unlucky in that I can't distribute runtimes, or all my Windows dev would be done in Objective-C.
I really really dislike GNUstep on Windows. They don't seem to have even bothered considering that any toolkit on Windows must look like Windows or it won't even be considered serious :(
OSE/YB/WOF all integrate perfectly with the Windows look-and-feel, if only GNUstep would too.
Addendum: I could probably distribute the WOF 5.1 Obj-C runtime, but to be honest trying to get it to work on anything newer than Windows 2000 is like pulling teeth - it requires stupid registry hacks.
@TheZapzupNZ I use it fairly regularly to be honest.
I have a PC running OS4.2 acting as a NetInfo master, it also runs Apache 1.0.3 or so along with PostgreSQL, EOF, and WOF. It's great fun - as long as it's firewalled ;)
I also prefer using OS4.2 dev tools over any GNUstep offering, so I mostly start projects in PB while using ProjectCenter for generating the GNUstep makefiles and the like.
Having said that, Gorm is one hell of a well-engineered product. I wish IB was more like it.
@TheZapzupNZ Pedantry isn't about right or wrong though. Anyhow, further argument over that would be just as pedantic :)
I really don't know why I said 'oss ten' there, I normally say 'oh ess'... the joys of unscripted commentary eh? At least I didn't say 'oss ecks' :)
As I understand it, there are some OS4.2 torrents out there... I can't vouch for them though, I got my copy about 15 years ago. It was very hard work trying to track down this particular release though.
Where can i get the image for this for HP9000 712/60?

@jlbergqvist I agree. It's a shame that Mecca leaks all over the place or I'd be tempted to try to put Mecca's frameworks on a 4.2 box.

I like how you made the intro, when it started, I thought I was going to be hearing Steve Jobs' voice

@TheZapzupNZ Yeah, I just noticed that... it's starting to look a bit less shabby. Now, if only they could deal with menus.
Even poorly-ported OPENSTEP apps have the menus in the 'right' place (that is, where every Windows app has its menus.)
I should actually stop playing with Genera and make some videos on NeXTs' Windows offerings.
