@sandrasangels3 Hi there,usually hiking mweelrea by doing the full horseshoe takes about 7 hours but if you go up the ramp and back down the same way maybe about 5 to 6 hours. It`s a lovely mountain and the nicest route up is by Oughty Craggy to the summit of Ben Bury and across to the peak of mweelrea.
Thats a great video. I went up on the horseshoe route which was essentially arriving at Ben Bury/Lugmore from the other side. So I could see down the "ramp" as I went from Bury to Lugmore. Am hoping for snow later this year or early next year so me and a friend can do the north side of Mweelrea with ice axe and crampons.When we get snow in Connemara its like being in Heaven for a climber.Thanks again.
