On colder, cloudier days, go with a streamer or some type of leech. On warmer days, watch for the hatches and some kind of caddis will probably do well. Getting into summer, the real fun starts. You can start using grasshoppers, crickets and all the other terrestrials.
Might want to handle and release a little more gently, with wet hands, so as not to disturb the slime layer or remove scales, and supporting the fish in the water until it stabilizes. A tossed release is really hard on the fish and it can suffocate on the bottom before it stabilizes. Nice video.

The Rainbows in the Onion are stocked, but the main species is Brown trout, all of which are wild trout.
