I do not agree that the ''english'' burned washignton, the majority of people living in british north america at that time were from french ancestry. At the beggining of the war, there was only a small garrison of british soldiers in Canada, most of the soldiers were recruited by the population and natives so calling it a ',british victory'' is incorrect.

The burning of Washington is irrelevant, the Chesappeak campaign was a military failure that changed the outcome of the Ghent negotiations.
Besides, US had nearly 30% more victories in that war as well.

They were colonial British farmers fighting british soldiers in the Revolutionary war, not american.
There was never an American fighting in the Revolutionary war, there were, British, French and Spaniards and British colonials. British colonials didn't want to pay taxs to the king of England, so revoked an attack against it's own people, spaniards and french helped the British colonials. British fought for there own independance from the king of England.

What I mean is, that if we had not won, Edmund Burke (one of our friends in Parliament) the pillars of today's better Britain would have been defeated as well. The American War started because of Americans not wanting to pay taxes to the British. What most Americans dont realise or are not taught is that these taxes were directly funded back into the colonies. Thees taxes paid for the expansion of settlements, the education of there children, the up keep of law and order and health care. And was is mostly overlooked is that these taxes funded British soldiers and American militia who PROTECTED these settlements from attacks by native American Indians.
