I love our city, wish I was alive back then. I know a lady that wagged school that day to go see them and was paranoid her mum would find out cause there were cameras everywhere.
@Zimnyification Well it's john saying "we know it won't last all our lifes", and he was the one who hated it the most so what does paul have to do with it?
@jazzsonicx3 michael jackson never had more than that you dumbass, ur excaggerating. ive never seen footage where jackson was swarmed with 350,000 people just making a street appearance.
This is unbelievable! Bigger than NEW YORK! I estimate the pop of Adelaide at the time to be about 600-700,000 as it's about 1.3 million right now. Considering that this is unbelievable. However, I do think the 350,000 is slightly inflated. I've been at the town hall for the 97 crows grand final victory ticker tape which had over 100,000 and that was similar to this. All of King W St completely covered in people from n tce to Victoria sq
@jterpst1 I can't recall his name right now, but he's the drummer that took over for a few weeks while Ringo was in the hospital. It's easily looked up and he's in at least 3 or four other vids playing with The Beatles on YouTube.
I absolutely *hate* it when artists note the receptions they get from fans by saying, "It was just like The Beatles!" or "It was BETTER than The Beatles!" HELL, NO!! These people *haven't a clue" if they wish to compare the reactions they get from fans today, yesterday or next week to what The Beatles had experienced. Never in the history of music has *anything* come close to what these four boys from Liverpool have accomplished..and *nothing ever will*. Simply amazing. They are the best. ♥
@MileyRox31 michael jackson was huge, no beatle fan takes that away from him, but not even he experienced the hysteria the beatles did. he was close, but 350,000 people just to see them on the street, that is amazing.
@caryash i disagree, you just never know. maybe 5, 10, 55, 123 years from now a great group may come together and be absolutely great singers, writers, musicians like the beatles were. you cant ever say something will never happen.
The Beatles did an Amsterdam concert then to Hong Kong before going to Australia. All three tours Jimmy Nichols did the drumming for Ringo. Ringo joined them later in Australia. Jimmy Nichols faded into obscurity after that. Thanks Jimmy.
0:53 is that on Curry street near the King William street intersection?
