  • Tara, come to Moscow! :)

  • Wall Street DID NOT take your pen. Our dopey politicians gave them your pen without your permission. Unfortunately the occupiers are not holding them accountable. It's easy to point the finger at a guy in a suit who makes money for a living but its the fraudulent politicians who created Fannie and Freddie are the real crooks. Just because someone wants to give handouts doesn't mean that they won't pick your pockets along the way. They will and do. You are an excellent example of working hard, g

  • That was actually the best explanation of the "Occupation" that I have heard yet. Probably because I actually listen to the news and I'm too busy being either depressed or outraged. . .

By the way, Tara, you're awesome. You've been the first person to really break down yoga in a way that doesn't seen all holier-than-thou. You've really inspired me to take the time needed and really connect with my body inside and out and practice every day.

    Thank you for being you!

  • That is why banks keep chains on their pens.

  • We don't have free market capitalism in this country so it isn't to blame. We have government run corporatism. The government is to blame so I don't see how begging them to do something is going to work. These protesters are ill-informed sheep, bleeting into a void.

capitalism is the only answer and the most peaceful alternative to war, which is man's natural state. there is no peace to be found in this life without going against your very nature.

  • Hey Tara! I was just wondering, what are your thoughts on hot (moksha) yoga? Thanks :)

  • Definitely not everyone is on meds, and lazy and eating too much McDonalds :) Americans aren't all lazy, in fact many just can't find work, the jobs don't exist even though people want to work and work hard. They just simply don't know how to fight back against everything that the banks/govt etc have laid on them. They feel helpless, and are fighting back using their voices now! OCCUPY!! :)

  • Tara, you're awsome! I do yoga 3-4 times a week and I love it. I actually want to get home from school so I can do yoga.

Now, my problem, cellulites, on my butt. Haha. Do you have any tip to get rid of them?

Btw excuse my english, I'm swedish....haha.

  • "Got this awesome tea mug from my friends in MoscOOOWWWW!" LOL<3

  • Anyone, anywhere can protest: close your big-bank checking account and switch to a credit union.

That's how to protest like a real capitalist :)

  • Regarding the financial crisis, I personally hope all of this gets worse and worse until society collapses. I live in a poor third-world country where I have to choose whether to buy food or pay the electrical bills so the only way things could get worse for me is if I didn't have a choice.

  • I love the way Lotus looks SO MUCH but I just can't force my legs that way :(

  • kundalini is strange

  • I'm apart of occupy-oc which is in solidarity with occupy wall street, the movement is spreading.Come out and support!

  • Also, haha sorry... *New steroids haha jk

I don't think trading money is all that bad. If in regards to stocks/currency. I remember working a shitty/blue collar job in college and showing up early in the morning to my courses with a piece of shit green screen cellphone typing in stock quotes throughout lectures. In the event my stocks took a shit I could run out of the lecture and make trades. It helped pay my way through college. Same reasons/hustle someone trades to provide for their family.

  • "There are plenty of people in the streets who are angered not by corruption, but by people like you who'd use your hard work and talent to be financially successful. To many of them, you're part of the problem.Sad"

That's just silly.. Why is it wrong/sad for someone who has the hustle to go out and stake their claim? I hate comments like that...its like the guy at the cafe who always asks for 50 cents to buy his coffee while he bitches about the problem of society. GO OUT & MAKE YOUR WAY!

  • I want my pen back ! :P

  • Okay, this may be slightly touchy and I hope that I don't step on any toes. I am Hindu and my yogi (a westerner) opens and closes each session by chanting Aum (Om). What she does on her own is her own business but it bugs and offends me that in her position as yogi, she will take something that is DEEPLY sacred and spiritual to us and use it in such a nonchalant manner. She is an EXCELLENT yogi and I've not approached her about it because she would be horrified that she had been so insensitive..

  • @oscarblue918 Must I find a new yogi? Will I run into the same thing? Can you advise me how to deal with this without humiliating and embarrassing someone for whom I have a lot of respect? Thank you.

  • @oscarblue918 interesting. a lot of teachers open and close with an om. . I don't . . i like to have everyone begin by breathing together. . if you like the classes is it possible to practice non-judgment with her and your feelings about her opening om and know that her intentions are good and not to offend? is it possible that all religions and non religions can practice the sound of om without offense? just a thought. :)

  • @TaraStilesYoga Well, I guess I AM judging her a little bit. I know she doesn't intend to offend. What bothers me is that I feel that she uses it as nothing more than a tradition that she associates with yoga. From talking to her in general and oblique terms, I know that she has little or no understanding of depth and complexity of its meaning. I think that your point is that I'm being overly sensitive about it and you're probably right. I will TRY, but it's very difficult to change something...

  • @oscarblue918 ...that has its roots deep in your soul. I think that your advise is sound and I will try to heed it. I know you have a LOT of followers so THANK YOU for taking time to reply to me. :)

  • @oscarblue918 Oh! As far as other religions or non-religions chanting the sacred syllable, it's not my place to say how people should practice their religion or spirituality. But I will say that, as far as I'm personally concerned, there is absolutely nothing wrong with them chanting it. But from a religious standpoint, I think that it would be nice if they would at least try to obtain at least a fundamental understanding of its meaning and significance....

  • @oscarblue918 ...If I made a wine and called it Christ's Blood, I expect that that would be offensive to Christians, even if my INTENT was to pay HOMAGE to Christ. As I understand it wine is a Christian symbol of His blood but I would expect that Christians would be offended more by what I DON'T understand about it.

    /end of soap box :P

  • Lol I can only hold my arms up for 2 mins before my mind starts to wonder :P

  • @jojomcrrox ROFL!! I feel your pain! Cursed attention deficit -- SQUIRREL!!

  • tara..you inspire me!!! i cant wait for your next book :)

  • I've been very drawn to trees the past few weeks. That analogy really makes a lot of sense to me. :) I heard Shiva Rea say that the tree trunk is the tree's dunda (sp?) and the branches and leaves is its creative expression. :)

  • Now that you mention it......I DO want that pen !!!!

  • @dovermoreno the world is full of pens :)

  • The metaphor of the tree is very significant! Thanks!

  • McDonald'sand prescription meds? Haha. I don't understand why prescription meds would make you sedentary. I would prefer not to be medicated, but I have dysautonomia and I need medication to walk.

  • @ChanShelly I'm sure she didn't mean those kinds of meds. ;-)

  • As a yogi, part of me say's to not get involved because all it does is perpetuate anger and discontent within myself. I don't know how to make a difference properly without letting my mind get rampant with negativity. I've been looking for a positive way to make a change, mostly by sharing positive aspects of change. The system needs not to be not fought, but completely overhauled and a new system put in place. There are individuals responsible and they should be singled out and prosecuted.

  • @taxivid i agree

  • Tara! I adore how you have described the Occupy Wall Street movement. Kudos. Brillant. Love you. Have you ever heard of anyone doing recycled or eco friendly yoga mats?

  • So your pursuit of the positive aspects of capitalism is what's keeping you from joining the Occupy Wall Street movement?? I don't mean to poke fun; I really do wish you well deserved success in your awesome endeavors, but that's a funny statement when you sit back and take it all in. There are plenty of people in the streets who are angered not by corruption, but by people like you who'd use your hard work and talent to be financially successful. To many of them, you're part of the problem.Sad

  • @neonshoji she just did a major part for the movement by using her audience to spread the knowledge and awareness of the movement.

  • @waitwhatwait being financially secure is wonderful. i am financially secure. i think most people agree that what many banks and people working for funds set the market to do whatever they would like it to do. . and it's legal to do so. that's the problem. earning money isn't the problem. trading money is a problem.

  • @TaraStilesYoga No earning money is not a problem. It sounds innocent enough. But a privately owned bank printing money out of thin air and then charging its own government interest, is wrong. That is what the federal reserve does. It's as federal as federal express, and it overrides the United States Constitution. (Article 1 section8) This is Treason. Furthermore, no one is "financially secure" except the elite, who buy our politicians and manipulate global markets, not even you.

  • @TaraStilesYoga I was not taking a shot at you or what you do, I love yoga, yoga in itself is positive and can be a step towards deeper spiritual understanding, i just had to get that information out for those who may not be aware of it.

  • @neonshoji yes i know. . :)

  • @neonshoji youre an idiot; not everyone has time to take part in occupy wall street, people have things to do other than staying outside. for some people the cost of their time is too high to actually physically be there. and there's no reason to hate on individuals. if you're pro occupy wall street, then support them, spend less time on youtube criticizing youtube gurus

  • @neonshoji also, individual pursuit in earning money isnt the problem. its the inequality that exists that is

  • Hello there ^^

One littel thing i always wonderes about as a swiss person... The pen that got stolen during your bathroombreak is one problem. But buying the pen without actually having the money in the first place is another. And having a system that wastes so much money on stupid stuff(military expenses,media...)so it cannot support people so they need to borrow money to buy a pen...Might be the actual problem behind it.

But more important right now: Thank you very veeeery much for your videos!

  • Loved the tree analogy! Thanks Tara! :)

  • 1st!! How incredible, Im so..... amazing! x
