@gojira931 Trivia - The # 1 song of 2000 never made it to number one! It was Breathe by Faith Hill, and peaked at the second spot, but it earned the top spot because it spend the entire year on the chart... therefore become the most popular song of 2000

@electrictroy2010 That's right. The #2 song of '00 (Smooth - Santana feat. Rob Thomas) spent 12 weeks at #1, and a total of 58 weeks on the Hot 100 although some of those weeks were in the '99 period. Another instance was in '01, with Lifehouse "Hanging By A Moment" peaking at #2, and becoming the top Hot 100 Single of '01, barely edging Alicia Keys "Fallin'".
