EVEN though I am a USAF Veteran, I love the Angels. Such precision on the ground and in the skies - thank you for posting this; can't get out to the air shows any more. :( Posting this to my "Veterans" playlist, five awesome stars!!
thank you sooooo much for posting this! i am an absolute fanatic of the Blue Angels! to see them flying is positively the most beautiful sight my eyes have ever seen!
I think a lot of people might be injured...From what I understand sonic booms shatter LOTS of glass, and if it shatters glass maybe...uh your head shatters too?
Also...Something cool I heard, sometimes the B-1 instead of dropping a load of bombs they do a "low" flyby and break the sound barrier over the target...Kind of like a, "Yeah, we didn't even drop a bomb yet...you're toast."
There were two #7 jets. I presume they were VIP rides, but at the same time, they might also have been 2009 pilots. I do remember someone from a news team returning a flight suit on Sunday, so he might have been in one of the jets...
The Blue's fly the newly selected pilots in late-season shows such as this. Gives them a head start to see what they are going to have to do when they officially come on board. While the Blue Angels do give "VIP" and media rides, those selected guests never fly as part of the full demonstration. They are given their ride earlier in the day and only one aircraft is involved.
@SkullakaAce I was at the airshow in 1981 and have been in love with the blue angels ever since. Am in the navy reserves and would love to serve with the angels
@SkullakaAce I went to an airshow and saw the ThunderBirds right before the Blue Angels. I was thinking "I'd hate to follow that act" Then the Blue Angels showed them up.
Oh cool...I would give almost anything to go for a ride in one of those jets. I wonder what kind of stuff it takes to become a pilot? I always wanted too...Maybe I will enlist after college...They like people with degrees right?
altro che frecce tricolori questi sono piloti e caccia!!!!!!

Ignore me. I only watched the Squirrel Cage before saying that.
Still, that was a close call!

The 2009 demo pilots joined the team earlier this month. they are getting fam rides in the
jets to learn the routine, procedures, calls, etc.

what it takes to become a pilot??
for starters- level headed, a team player, detail oriented, and not a glory hound.
yes, you must have a college degree.
talk to a navy recruiter. whats your GPA??

Climbing...Last semester was a 3.75..As of right now it averages out to like a 2.9..Hoping for 3.0+ for next year.
ThfWrc 3 years ago
3.75 meaning I had nothing but A's and a B+ for 6 classes...really boosted my overall, plan on the same thing this semester.
