  • You know how you need to get summer air out of your tires and put in winter air for winter $50 each,do you think you need to do the same thing with these new kind of batteries?

  • wonder if nissan will have battery upgrades once they are able to develop more efficient batteries

  • Quiet - Fast - Efficient - Relaxing - Roomy - Easy

Stylish - Futuristic - Quick Charge at dealers?

    Bought it !

    Love it !

  • I want one!!!!!!

  • Great for drive-bys....BBBBBRRRAAAAT!....Mark.

  • Finally! We can finally say goodbye to filthy oil here in Portland, Oregon. Sixty percent of our grid is supplied by clean hydro-electric plants, so this car makes perfect sense in every possible way in our State. My leaf will be black. Thank you, Nissan!

  • So quiet! It can sneak up on a Ninja!! XD LOL

  • Someone will buy one and swap an SR20 in that bitch.

  • @pearlmax i would be the one to do that!HAHAHAHA fuckn sweet

  • How moronic do you have to be to see a precious resource and make sure you lock the door for your target consumer to ACCESS that most VALUABLE and needed resource?

    Just sayin'!

  • I love this car and I wanted to buy one.

But, I've been told directly by Nissan that there is NO portable charge capability.

This car only accepts installed chargers (only thousands of $ to install).

i.e. : We will have ZERO access to the millions of electrical outlets in this country. You are limited to the almost nonexistent SAE J1772 installed chargers or the even more rare fast chargers.

Such a shame, so much potential limited by such shocking lack of forethought.

  • InternalCompass, it's like the way Sony tries so hard to make its' electronics proprietary so you have to go to THEM instead of sticking to established industrial standards!

*sigh* I had such high hopes for this vehicle, too.... =(

  • I hate propreatary scamers

this being said from what I hear one of the plug(right) is used for both types of outlets(1 & 2) and the other(left) is industrial outlets, the problem with standard outlet which you can use is the time (~16hours, ~8hours in a model comming out soon). IMO 8hours overnight is no problem for many people in the market for that car initially, and as time goes on 3rd party afordable portable adaptors/charging devices

  • ...should be available

speaking of 3rd party, imagine if you were forced to only get only tires and batteries made by the original manufacturer, that would be a money making scam and tire prices would be much higher because your captive, we should have the ability to install another battery with compatible specs.

Imagine buying a used EV and just changing the battery (for one that is likely cheaper AND better than the original). No worries about radiator, timing belt, pistons, exhaust, etc

  • @InternalCompass the 220 and the 110 the charger is on board..... for the quick charge which you are talking about, its best that the charge is not on board since it will be high current with multiple gfi's for safety. Watch this video on youtube for details "watch?v=Pa-wKK2R978&feature=related"

  • @InternalCompass I think you are very wrong...and even if that's true...you should be able to get an adapter to be fully able to charge this car from any outlet.

  • If we have dozens of worksites, and half a dozen personal sites we visit regularly...

Obviously, the cost of installing compatible chargers at each site would far exceed the cost of the car itself.
