Using the Rel sub: Since all speakers would be set to large or full range, how Could one use Audussey (room correction) feature since Audussey recommends all speakers should be set to small?
You still need an RTA you can not does this with your ears you’ll be light-years off the mark without an RTA.
I heard a REL at the home cinema demo room called Dawsons at Westbourne many years ago I think around 2002 and it sounded dull in the room lifeless because of the sheer size of the room was small cinema auditorium size, of today’s smaller digital screens at the Empire Leicester Square for 30 seats and the home demo room had I think was 8 or 10 cinema seats.
I think to get best results from sub bass is to sit in the seat while the microphone is placed near and run the low frequency tones sweep or one tone at time.
The lower lows should vibrate cretin parts of the seating some tones will be felt on the body and other tones will only be felt around armrest or the back of the seating that is nature of it and from what I have noticed myself first hand.
@edpadden Well its kinder natural in capturing the room size reverberation telephone ringing and everything else in monaural sound though the centre channel as I have this playing on the home cinema JBL sound system.
Huuuu...... well yeah Velodyne and Rel where once the top of the line but now SVS AV123 and many more subwoofer company's offer so much more bang for the buck with out affecting the quality for so little compare to the Velos and Rels
i want one badly get everyone jealous hahahah...rel audio only make subwoofers so they must be good can't afford one yet but hopfully get the cheaper rel subwoofers...
I've got a REL...and it's fuckin mental.
