  • trying to learn to throat sing like him that what makes him awsome and his voice

  • i love how the lyrics seem so random when you first hear them then they make perfect sense after you think about them.

  • 55,944? why are they only showing my views?

  • @breakingjesus57 In the words of Johnny Marr, that joke just isn't funny anymore.

  • @FondlingReply that comment was two month ago dude and its not a negative comment

  • @breakingjesus57 NOPE. I MADE A SMITHS REFERENCE. YOU LOSE.

  • @FondlingReply NOPE NOOB YOU LOSE LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL SO GTFO!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOLOOL

  • @FondlingReply NAHNAHAHANANAHA YOUUUUU SOB L.OLOLOLOLOL

  • is there a music video to this song???....

  • @C0okieMonster1920 dude fair to midland videos would be too awesome for any single screen to not explode half way through the song.

  • @futurecomic75 hahaha agreed

  • i get to see em August 30th with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. Two epic bands in one show = possibly one of the best nights ever.

  • this song would go great with a good video of black ops or on the mw3 intro song or tralier, i bet somebody here can make that happen and maybe get them as popular as beber and kiesha and etc.

  • I wish I could sing like Darroh.

  • is this album version or live?

  • awesome! enough said!

  • ahh awesome...

  • he has the best voice..........

  • i was at a concert and 10 years anmd Fair To Midland opened up for Flyleaf, if you see any of these bands in concert you know that they are EPIC!! The lead singer of Fair To Midland got on top of a speaker(which was stacked on top of three other) and jumped right off of it..... he is crazy, and hott

  • saw these guys at Coachella 2007, they were definitely among my favorites of the festival, good times! Excited for their new album!

  • these guys are bad ass band!

  • ah-fuckin-mazing band

  • @joobaby69 They are in no way random lyrics

  • @CranberryFont agreed

  • This band is from Dallas, Texas. I've met them. They are fucking amazing.

  • is this a worship song? I HOPE SO!!

  • @joobaby69 I completely agree haha

  • saw these guys in concert last night for the first time@ the masquerade. f'in great. his voice is phenomenal, especially when he hits those high notes. they are amazing live.

  • Incredible. Saw them live just a few hours ago, Darroh is quite possibly the best front man in existence. His stage presence is just phenomenal.

  • @XsinisterbowX maynard used to be better.. ^-^

  • @XsinisterbowX I completely agree!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @XsinisterbowX saw them yesterday... nothing has changed. hahaha, he was literally hanging from the ceiling singing this song. epitome of rock persona.

  • There is nothing close to this band. Phenomenal!! They were awesome in Denver at the Marquis, 2011.

  • I have to admit, I was disappointed when I saw them live yesterday. They even played this song, which I love, and I meh-d. I LOVE them in studio. Sadly, they were disappointing live.

  • 3 deaf people listened to this song....

  • loooove his high voice :)

  • I just saw these guys on tour with Periphery and Scale the Summit. Bought all their CDs on the spot. Great melodies, and I love the old school prog flavor.

  • @teebalicious seein' 'em on monday myself, can't wait!

  • WAY better than that ke$ha bullshit... thumbs up !

  • Seeing these guys with Scale the Summit and Periphery, going to blow me away

  • @turboqwert

I'm thinking about going to that. What venue are you seeing it at?

  • @GearFiend I am going to see them in NC at the Orange Peel!

  • @GearFiend I saw them at Studio Seven in seattle, fucking rocked the joint

  • You cannot say Fair to Midland is terrible and then try to be taken seriously afterwards.

  • Seeing these guys on the 13th.

  • This song is amazing and reading the hate comments are making me laugh. Clearly attention seekers

  • i guess worse bands could be touring w periphery and scale the summit... like when underoath toured w animals as leaders :(

  • this blows

  • @mattyodoyle go put your mouth on the barrel of a shotgun.

  • @mattyodoyle wow .. you have really bad taste ..

  • That guy has one heck of a range.

  • Why are Periphery and Scale The Summit touring with this band...

  • @BoorfTheMan are you dissing Those bands or this band? I would definitely rather have STS headline the tour cause they are incredible but they aren't big enough yet, cause people are retarded.

  • @BoorfTheMan Yea I don't get it either. These guys are headlining? Guess I can leave the show early

  • @thisnamesbetter You're such an arrogant douche bag. Go swallow a bottle of pills.

  • @XxriflexpertxX Sorry I don't like your favorite band bro, we can't all have terrible musical taste like you.

  • @thisnamesbetter This isn't my favorite band... at all. I think its decent. But your comment was douchey for lack of a better word.

  • i like the will you remember you neighbor today. or regonize idk i forgot but you al knows hahah so yeah. best ever. pshyeah

  • These lyrics are stupid.

  • @lokken85 yeah they're pretty gay.

  • This is really good, but I can't wrap my brain around why they are touring with Periphery or Scale The Summit.

  • @blah152 They're all good bands... isn't that a good enough reason?

  • @blah152 It's gonna be a good show.

  • @blah152 WUT

I can't wrap my brain around why they haven't already toured with them.

  • serjical strike(serj tankian) revived them because they were going to quit. Now that they signed to a bigger record label their music will be exposed. hopefully here in Los Angeles KROQ wont be cocks or sold out bitches and will expose FTM's amazing music.

  • can feel Serj's soul in it

  • i want to marry this band

  • Is this really walls of Jericho?

  • @GN23 let's see you try to nitpick MY fucking grammar, dingleberry. if you truly listened to this and/or anything else by this band...and you truly believe that ppl like JB and kesha "have way more talent"...ugh. lyrics...songwriting...instruments...vox...all areas of IMMENSE TALENT for this band. hard to miss if you're really paying attention.

IF it's just that your taste forces you to avoid any kind of experimental/independent music....i actually have no gripe. can't account for taste

  • @GrammarNazi23 so you, fancying youself smarter than at least most folks (or why be a grammar nazi?), really and honestly believe that talent has shite-all to do with getting played on the radio? for one, how many ROCK stations are there compared to pop? you can start there...

in other words, smart guy, you have it ass-backwards...

the REASON kesha and bieber (who really does not possess enough talent to fill a urine specimen cup) get so much attention is precisely BECAUSE of radio.

  • sounds like System of a down, Cake, They Might Be giants, and Muse had a baby.

  • @pbpb1287 Probably because Serj Signed them onto Serjical Strike Records.

  • Amazing band, more people need to get into them. I think the lyrics for most of their songs are very personal. The music and the way the words chain together however are universal and even though I don't get everything they are trying to project through the song I really appreciate them as individuals and as artists.

  • Thank You!!!

  • A long time ago, I read on songmeanings about the possible explanations of it being about Hiroshima and Nagasaki and I associated it with that. A few months ago I went to Japan and I happened to be able to go to Hiroshima and visit the museum and peace park. This song makes me cry every time I hear it now.

  • Eh.. Just a brief going over it's rather confusing. x-x" Off the top of my head I'd just say it would do with a major event, such as Hiroshima. Appeasing our monsters, sating the need for war or conflict.. Under the acrylic sky? Possibly the said bomb created some type of affect in the sky and under the sky would basically mean the victims? x-x" Gah. It's confusing. I'm hopeless. xD

  • @aidan456456 It seems like they're talking about Hiroshima. Or at least the first part does.

  • i hope they make it far, they are absolutly amazing!!<333

  • Anyone know the meaning of these lyrics? I absolutely love this song, havnt heard it in years and heard someone say "The walls of jericho" which totally prompted my memory to this song

  • appeasing our monsters...UNDER THE ACRYLLIC SKYYYYYYYY!

I don't think there is any semen left in my body.

  • @rb12321 damn :(.

  • @rb12321 Lol I can't say I know the feeling, but I think I just had a musicgasm!

  • @GrammarNazi23 Ke$ha and Beaver would collapse in the presence of Darroh. You, my friend, need to clean out the semen clogging your ears.

  • @GrammarNazi23

Beiber and Ke$ha are absolute garbage. This band is played on Modern Rock Radio. Go troll the Disney Forum, idiot.

  • @GrammarNazi23

i heard them on the radio today actually.

  • Comment removed

  • @GrammarNazi23 Well... as soon as Justin Beiber's balls drop, which will be around... 3 years from now, his fucked up baby screech that some call a singing voice, will drop and he'll be another useless Disney trademark. Oh how I wait for that day :D

  • This album > everything

  • The lyrics are of nothing ever heard before. I loved dance of the manatee years ago, and yet this this song and The wife, The kids and the White picket fence are just incredible. Their music is almost revolutionary. It's feels good to listen to their music again.

  • amazing. vocals kick ass

  • Awesome.

  • Why aren't these guys as famous as beiber and ke$ha. There millions times better.

  • @digs0795 Because the fucktard mass media would rather have easy to decipher pop bullshit. Shit that has no lyrical depth is easy for them. This is something they'd have to work to understand, and they wouldn't do that

  • @digs0795 because it doesn't always take talent to become famous, it usually just takes hype. If fame were based on talent, beiber and kesha would be SOL. The talent difference between those tools and ftm is beyond drastic. Out of control sick is fair to midland.

  • @21chill56 you are all rere's... kesha has more talent in her blue lipstick than you have in... whatever you have! BOOYA!

  • @girthunit wow... that was a scorcher, for sure. It's gonna be rough recovering from that.

  • @21chill56 feel the girth

  • @girthunit ... sounds like a fat joke.

  • @digs0795 Incredible. and it's true, millions of times better than beiber and kesha. Voice, lyrics, instruments, creativity. Simply incredible.

  • @digs0795 they are famous on youtube and as long as they exist here we know they are still better than ke$ha and beiber :)

  • I wouldn't put it past Andrew to give out different lyrics to different people, sometimes he doesn't even remember them, haha. But seriously, he has every right to not give us the meanings or the exact words, and we have every right to take this song and decide what it means to us personally. No matter what, they are all amazing musicians and men, and at the end of the day no one can argue that.

  • so demodê.

  • i met Darroh on May 6th he was VERY VERY nice and i got apicture with him :)

he and 10 Years opened for Flyleaf in Tempe, AZ and they were very very good. Put on a HELL of a show. he knows how to thrash onstage i loved them :)

  • this song is epic

  • These guys will be around for a while. Too bad everything is so ratings and sales oriented in the business, as these guys crush just about any new groups. Their audience will grow and they will prevail. Killer post, apb

  • Darroh Sudderth is a genius when it comes to writing lyrics,

  • Comment removed

  • heart of harp would work, actually, on that issue.. maynard used to do that shit too. just try to find you own shit for the music. leave him alone lol ^_^ but give me answers! ^_- thnx

  • "I'm piecing up myself" yes.. thank you vesi

  • <3

    enough said

  • and the whole "appeasing our monsters" thing....there used to be a "misheard lyrics" vers of this song on here, but it was taken down. In the misheard vers it said "I'm pleasing a monster" and it had a chick kneeling down in front of a vampire looking guy. And that was called misheard lyrics b/c they were wrong. "I'm piecing up myself, under the acrylic sky" is the correct lyric. Someone talk to Darroah and tell me I'm wrong.....

  • im sorry but u are ......wrong:) i talk to cliff on myspace all the time.lol so...yeah.sorry

  • Somehow, FTM is catchy AND original at the same time. It's dumbfounding how good this is. One of the best songs I've heard in a while.

  • this song is really good, its a shame you cant hear the lyrics in some of their other songs.

  • Amazing voice, unlike anything i've ever heard!

  • This song is so inspiring to me as a musician. Fair to Midland is just so unique and individual, and thats hard to find these days! And i do believe the vocals are some of the best of our decade. I'm tired of hearing that cookie cutter voice and this just sticks out of the crowd. Fair to Midland is truly in a league of their own.

  • @jacobtheguitarfreak Couldn't agree more (though I'm not a musician). Fair to Midland aren't afraid to mix different styles and dynamics that are outside of the usual mainstream favorites.

  • @jacobtheguitarfreak These guys are amazing live, and his vocals inspired me to continue and pursue my dream of being a vocalist myself. One of my favorite bands

  • @jacobtheguitarfreak that is why faith no more and all of Mike Pattons side projects are fucking amazing!!!! they are not your joe average band(s)

  • ...ohh and @ 2:23 and 2:42 it's "string up your heart"

  • The bands official website had the lyrics up but the site is under construction right now....but I can guarantee you that mine are the correct lyrics. I've been a fan of this band for about 6 yrs and I've heard the demos of this song for years. "I'm piecing up my self"

    "string up your heart"

    look it up....

  • @vezi38 Nonononono It's "string up your harp". I've had backstage passes to the concerts. I've talked to the lead twice, and me and a friend were having a debate over this. He himself said it was "String up your harp."

  • I hung out with "the lead", Andrew Darroah Sudderth, and he said "heart".....harp WOULD make more sense, which is why I'm sure he dosent' use it....they're lyrics don't usually make sense.....he never reveals what the songs are about, so he probably just told us 2 different things, he likes being weird

  • @vezi38

Use your mind man..He told you 2 different things because he wants YOU to determine the meaning of the song..Not get spoonfed the meaning!

Everyone has a different outlook on things..music is NO different. Think about that. He isnt "weird" he wants you to open your mind allowing you to evolve mentally. "Think for yourself" (Tool Reference)

Music is a higher form of communication.

  • Hey there, sorry but it's not "appeasing our monsters" it's "I'm piecing up my self"

Just though I'd let ya know, not hating. Anyone promoting FTM is cool with me! :)

  • Really? It sounds like "appeasing our monsters" to me.

  • @Hellsiiing

Really it sounds like "I have a big cavernous vagina" to me.

  • LOVE FTM

  • By the way, This is their best song.

Although tall tales taste like sour grapes is close too...

  • Best lyrics... Seeing the lyrics while listening to the song makes me appreciate it even more!

  • @RoboFrogROBLOX Yeah, this song rivals Stairway to Heaven in it's lyrical perfection, nothing in the last decade beats it, for sure.

  • This singer has an amazing voice! I love it!

  • pure epicness...

  • so good so very very good

  • FtM are pretty incredible, this is coming from a fan of melodic death metal.

  • my bf ONLY listens to death metal... nothing else.. and HE loves FTM... is actually quite amazing.. never thought I would see the day.

  • Fair To Midland kicks so much ass I can't believe I've never heard of them until now.

  • hey

  • Fair to midland is awsome.

  • Love that song!
