OMFG I had that when I was like 5.... it came in a tranformers box, was JetFire the name of the tranformer vs of this ?

wow, it even had the snap on red booster things the macrosse ones had when they where in outter space or somthing.

man, wished I kept that now.. lol never heard of macrosse till I was like 18..

Isn't the packaging wrong? To my understanding Skull Leader Veritech were always VF-1S Valkyries. VF-1A were standard VF-1J were issued for Ace Pilots, and VF-1S's were for Skull Squadron and Squadron leaders.... or maybe i'm mistaken......

the proper way to do it should be to make it into gear walker mode first before going to robot mod so that it would be easier to do but oh well each to their own ways

2 things: Hikaru is the japanese name of Rick Hunter in the series Macross. It was changed 2 Rick in Robotech. The other thing is he 4got 2 fold the tailfin part upward.

it does help if you have the head facing where it will look forward, and you point the cannon forward, but you gotta have the cannon facing forward and folding the back and front in such a way the head has plenty of room to go through.

I like the veritechs and you did prove you arent a diehard robotech fan.

robotech is an anime, not a cartoon, quite different form of anime, also, robotech is a property of tatsunoko if memory is correct.

I got three of these from the 80s, mostly metal and some plastic (all lead lol) two are kinda broken and one is in semi good condition it needs a new paint job though, wish I could sell them and get a newer one.. :/

These are still cool considering their age and that Yamato has put out the best VF-1 to date. The things that bug me the most are the fact that the front and back halves don't look up seamlessly in fighter mode - you always get this ugly gap, and Bandai should have tampo-printed more of the markings, like the black markings behind the shoulders, instead of only doing the front markings. Seems like they half-assed on these. Th

The backhalf of the battroid (not just the jetpack) is not hooking onto the frontside of it.

Notice there's a plastic hook from the backpack sliding into the hole beneath the canopy; they're supposed to hooking onto eachother? But they can't. Because the hooks are not facing eachother.

These stop the humanoid figure from splitting into 2.

Do me this favour: hold the Battroid upside down (by holding the legs) and see if the back-half of the droid flops down. Coz, I know it ain't supposed to.

Jetfire was originally a robotech VF-1S...hasbro took the mold from bandai and used it to make the original G1 Jetfire! Im currently trying to buy a VF-1S so i can do a review on it to show everyone...thx for watching, Ryan

Hey bro, nice review. You forgot one part of its transformation though.

The thing holding its little back fins flips up. It forms a backpack-like thing for the robot mode. You can tell how it's supposed to flip up, because there's an obvious seam there with an extra 'joint' of sorts.

I hope I explained that well enough, I'm not as eloquent as I'd like to be. :p

haha i know you could basically do it and it would be awesome! The VF-1S the Roy Fokker edition is the exact toy that hasbro used to make Jetfire/Skyfire so that would be the one to go for since it already has the same head and everything!!
