The scene where the Riders of Rohan storm to confront the wargriders and Legolas magically jumps onto a horse was more mundane in reality. Orlando only stretched his arm upwards and made a hop. And that was that. The rest of the sequence with him flying through the air and landing in the back seat was done by his "digital double."

Everyone knew it couldn't be real when they first saw it in the film but it still looked plausible. For an Elf.
