(@ 3:12) THE EXORCISM: That happened to me in another ministry group, but it was unexpected and uncalled for. I thought that I was doing fine for those 9 months, supressing those feelings. I wanted to change as well for several reasons: Machismo in a Mexican family, fears of going to Hell, etc. Just because I made a mistake of joining a ministry like this, I involuntarily quit my job, no 2 week notice, because of the pressures of this cult. Now I am unemployed and living off selling recyclables.
I've been studying the Hebrew bible as a Jew my entire life, and homosexual is not a word in hebrew and the NKJ translates the "key" phrases against gays incorrectly.
I have many Christian friends and I've found that the ones who are most adamant about the Bible being literal, or a biblical world view, had no idea about the history of Christianity or the source of their Biblical language.
So for those who comment that they do not follow blind faith, what study have to done to the truth?
Oh but you have to have blind faith in order to even believe in god much less say that a book is god inspired. when pressed believers will say god's will can't be known but yet they claim to know it. Lets backtrack....blind faith in a book. hmmmm.
There are many many reasons to believe in Christ badone112002. Don't just assume that all of us are unthinking drones, who have never examined our beliefs.
My faith is not blind. If I didn't have any reasons to believe, I would not believe.
I do admire and can relate in some ways to the exgay stories having been raised religious. To clarify I admire your journey and to how you are now. Sorry for my rant on religion but it has done me much damage as a gay person. My hat is off to you all. Best of wishes
the only way to conclude that God condemns homosexuality is by taking it out of context and lie about the story. Homophobia is hatred, hatred is a platform for hypocrisy, lies, discrimination, bigotry, hatred, hate crimes. Well it's America.
I read about a 15 year old who was shot in the head by his classmate for being gay. America needs to rethink what it is teaching kids as does religion
As an ex-believer, I support the all or nothing literal interpretation of the Bible. For example, if you deny the exact story of Noah's Ark, you're calling Jesus, Paul, and Peter liars. Matthew 24:37-39, Hebrews 11:7, I Peter 3:20, II Peter 2:5
I'm a believer afundie, but I don't believe that the whole of planet earth was covered in water. Rather I believe in a local flood, possibly the flood that supposedly flooded the black sea about 7000 years ago.
This floood story, not only echoes in the Hebrew scriptures, but also in babylonian texts. It has semitic significance.
Okay? And what does that prove? Homer and Virgil's texts are filled with historical and geographical truths too, does that mean polytheism is the true religion?
How dare they do harm other people in the name of God AND gain money from that?

Just heard Ted Haggard dropped out of his gay therapy treatment. What do the 'good' people at New Life Church think about that?!?

You would have done so much better with this video if you had recorded it away from the traffic noise. Maybe Ted Haggard's quiet little room?

Nowdays, Noah would be committed to an asylum and his children taken by CPS. His Ark would be auctioned off for local Police retirement fund.
