  • It's gerbil paradise!!

  • I'm not an expert but lots of people keep them in 20 gallon tanks I think the rule is 5 gallons a gerbil :) hope this helps

  • My younger brother wants a gerbil. Can you keep it in a 20 gallon long tank? Or use hamster critter trails?

  • I just bought two gerbils two days ago,one of em seems to pretty calm when i pick it up,but the other one just runs around, running away from me when i put my hand in there?do you think he's stressed or something?,do you know what i should do?

  • @GerbilHuli Some gerbils are more shy than others. Give him time to get used to the new enviroment and you.

  • Wow! You've done a great job of making a lovely home for your gerbils.

  • Cool cage!! can you make one for me too? ;)

  • great intro for how to look after gerbils,i liked it very much:) i have 4 gerbils myself, and expecting more :D and wow id kill for a huge tank like that,i woulg get you to make me one haha :)

  • i want that cage =) but it does look abit shitty XD you should clean it evry week or week and a half. and you should of defently cleaned it befor making a youtube video thats why you end up with comments like mine.

  • @PRECIOUSstollmyheart what does xd mean

  • @Randomshit1353 oh it was sopost to be : XD ..its basicly a laughing face, :L

  • relay nice cage, informative video, my dad saw it and said i could make a better tank for gerbils so i started thinking on designs, and if i get materials, I'll build it, and make a video to show you.

  • the wood will get chewed in a bit and get rewiend and u can put plastic in there cage

  • @xxpythonx We still have most of those wooden houses after 2 years. They only chew on them when there is nothing else.

  • this is an amazing cage.

  • your cage is awsome

  • lol one of there favorit things is dick :)

  • @snpierkiller YOU ARE GAY, AND ONE OF YOUR DADS FAVORITE THINGS IS DICK!!! YOU FUCKING ASS HOLE!!!!!

  • Wow!!! awesome cage! that must have cost tons of money!

  • i luv gerbils... i have two myself .. look at them on my channel

  • Sorry, I also want to say something about the good things you did! You have an amazing cage, it's super big I can see you love your gerbils. :D

  • You say that white stuff isn't dangerous, but I've heard several things about it and gerbils and hamsters can get caught in it and die or loose bodyparts. Also, if they swallow it, they could die. Please, if you still think it's good to use, still remove it, cause it does not give them more happiness, they can also do without the fluffy stuff and just go with hay and saw dust as bedding.

  • @NyappyHirude You're absolutely right. Instead of using the "fluffy stuff" I use toilet paper which I just give to my gerbils and they absolutely love it. They tear and chew it apart and then sleep in it. It's cheap, healthy for your gerbils, and very appreciated!

  • does anyone have some good hand taming tips? :( iv tried EVERYTHING without success! :(

  • Oops, I removed a comment, when I ment to reply. Sorry! Here it is:

    animalgirl156:

does the cage get cleaned, it may be for brrowing but it looks mess, and your not supposed to use that white fluffy bedding stuff, it can kill them if it is eaten, so theres a tip

    And my reply:

Yes we clean it about every two weeks, or sooner if it starts to seem too dirty. And the fluffy bedding stuff is digestible and not dangerous. It is from a pet store and especially made for animals.

  • does anyone have some good hand taming tips??? :( ive tried EVERYTHING!!!

  • do u clean that?

  • can they be kept alone? also would a 10gallon tank be ok for one?

  • Hey, to answer your questoin, no gerbils are social animals, so its best to keep 2 together. The tank should be at least 15 gallons of 2

  • thanks ^.^

  • Oh, just to add on, the tank actually can be 10 gallons for two gerbils. But it would be better to get a bigger tank, so they can each have more space, ect.

  • Hey. I really like the wood structures you've made. But I want to know how you got the wood to stay together.

  • We used little nails.

  • Thanx, this was very educational video! Now I know what to put in my cage when I get my gerbils! :D

  • i would hate to clean out that it must take forever

  • yea your right and i did not know they eat apples:) ill feed my gerbil some apples . also i got this edible log so my gerbil can hide under and they can eat it because its made out of there food

  • umm there gerbils not beavers?!u dont need that huge cage..?

  • i really want a gerbil!!Im gonna get one 4 xmas!Hopefully...!!

    PEACE LOVE GOSSELIN

  • I love your accent.

I just bought two gerbils and they're so scared.

  • nice video man im getting gerbils soon and i read that you shouldnt give them to much fruit and take it out in less than 4 hours

  • this is a good vid im getting a gerbil soon and im looking for any care tips so thanks!

  • that gerbilarium is massive! How many do you have living in there? I'm getting 2 gerbils soon (2 males as i heard they were better together compared 2 keeping 2 females)and I've just bought them a 4 level gerbilarium (obviously a base level and then 3 corner ledges). I clearly think thats enough room for 2 gerbils, probs 3 actually. But anyway, your gerbilarium is amazing and it looks really organised. Some ones i've seen on here are the plain 1 level and are really messy and cluttered!!

  • We have 4 and this is only a little bigger then the size recommended for that many here in Finland. There are so many different opinions on how much space they need.

We also rearrange the interior now and then to give them a little bit of a change and stimulation :)

  • ONLY FOUR!? good god thats so much for ONLY FOUR...... suppose you can never give them too much room but still...

  • im sorry if im going to sound mean or evil, but i just got 2 gerbils reading that they are one of the less smelly rodents, well idk whats wrong with mine, if i don't find a way to make them smell good(or normal) they will become my other pet's food.(snake)

i don't want that, but i don't like the smell, im not giving up, please help me, and don't reply with hate. (and yes i did make research)

  • They should not smell bad if you clean their home often enough and if they are healthy. You should ask advice from a vet or where you bought them.

And pets alvays have their own odour, but usually with gerbils it is mild and does not bother people.

Sorry I can´t think of other advice.

  • great video and very true
