I agree with Ron Paul on almost everything, but I just don't think humans are smart enough to have guns. Sure it is good for protection, but usually a robber has a gun too, and in a lot of cases the criminal uses your gun against you. Just look at the murder rate of the U.S.A. compared to other countries where guns aren't legal. The rates are far less than the U.S. and yet people think it's their right to own a gun. But I would rather just get rid of them all and people would feel a lot safer.
