@alloneword154 I think he means dont serve and volley on your second serve. Its true, its not the tactic, mostly this fails because a lot of people dont work on their 2nd, so its weaker, allowing the returner to tee off on the serve and hit a passing shot.
I never heard always stay back on second serves.
