when you vibrato in first postions do you sometimes hit the pegs? and if you dont how do you stop your self?

Good question. When I'm in first or half position, I tend to use finger or hand vibrato rather than arm vibrato in order to avoid hitting the pegs. Finger/hand vibrato requires less lateral movement and can still produce the warmth needed in those positions. If you want arm vibrato, you can also go into higher positions on a lower string, which then allows you to vibrato freely without hitting the pegs. Hope that helps!

Had to listen twice before I knew what it was from. I didn't really watch sesame street when I was little because they just didn't air it in Belgium until I was too old for it. I think it started airing about the same time as Power Rangers, some Bigfoot series and a series about Tarzan, so I watched those instead. :)

I think that your problem might be caused by too much tension in the muscles of your left arm and shoulder. Focus on relaxing all of the muscle groups in this area ( and your entire body ) as you play.

Make sure your posture is straight so that your bones take as much of the load off of your muscles as possible.

I'm a classical guitarist and have never played the violin, but I hope this will help you.
