  • YUCK YUCK? U LET HIM DROWN AND U STABBED HIM IN THE NECK!

  • hunting with dogs that let go the prey is quite dangerous. why dont you have at least one real catchdog like ambull, alano espanol etc (too bad dogos are banned in your country).

still it looks like a good day out in the wild.

    cheers

  • @ArionAntuMakto . When ever I have hunted with "real catch dogs" I have not collected any video footage that could be shown to public.

  • the real meaning of "piggy-back"

  • nice hunting

  • good work.

  • beats the bloody pathetic boar hunting vids the Americans put on the net, amateur or not kiwis still get in there and don't make a fuss about the smallest things like I have seen on hogs gone wild and other american pig hunting videos streamed on air and online

  • sweet mate ive been theree heap hunting

  • now thats a piggy back hahaa!

  • Such cool looking country. Nice hunt, btw.

  • Amazing, brave hunter!

  • This guy is a pretty amateur hunter, his technique is weak.

  • @Sweltering

Perhaps I could come and film you on a hunt?

  • @NZWildThings Anytime mate. I'm up in Canterbury.

  • @Sweltering

I dunno about being an amateur but in the end his hounds found their quarry and he put it down quickly and cleanly. Seems like a pretty good hunter to me.

  • great vid mate.

  • where are the orcs, goblins and balrog???

  • @TheSebulba1978

    What are they?

  • @NZWildThings Lord of the rings

  • @crocodiledavid

    I've never seen it.

  • @NZWildThings LOOL how can be..but btw how many time the boar take to die?

  • @NZWildThings its funny because it was filmed in your country

  • @TheSebulba1978 oh you have to go further north towards auckland (mordor)

  • VERY NICE BRAVO !!!!!!!!!

  • nice hunt.

  • Use a gun, its a lot easier lol

  • that was fuckn awsome man makn me hungry bet it tasted lyk heavn

  • awwwww poor boar! Now lets have dinner,.

  • Great vid!

  • piggy back

  • Comment removed

  • dogs done well,ADVICE didnt time you grab very well too slow and you should never have your knife out before your actually holding the pig, limits your reactions and can be quite dangerous

  • "it's okay, we're going to drown him instead"

    -the dogs

  • verry good well trained dogs and great song with it to love rammstein love pig hunting

  • mint vid mate.keep up the good hunting

  • im not really into this stuff but why do you puts a stick in there mouth ??

  • How does one scummy pig hunter with scummy dogs and scummy mates get so much debate going!! Pig hunting with dogs is an accepted and approved method of hunting in New Zeland. We are lucky in this country, this hunt was organised to get a few mates together, have some exercise in our massive, beautiful hills, work our well trained dogs, have a few beers and few laughs. This time we were lucky enough to secure a couple of fat, healthy wild pigs that ended up on the tables of friends and families.

  • if animals werent meant to be eaten they wouldnt be made outta meat!!!!

  • wow good stuff good dogs to

  • i love how everyones comment is a paragraph long

  • 2:35 i'll bite your balls of

  • @marvinlosiesen fagit

  • Never ceases to amaze me how the old "It's a pest" routine is wheeled out by hunters to justify their bloodshed! Humans are a pest but you're not suppsoed to go about shooting them now are you! About time they banned guns altogether..full stop. None allowed.I suppose fish are a pest too are they?

  • @sorova

Interesting that no guns are even used in this clip, although I certainly find a rifle a very usefull tool. Please do a search on New Zealand history and you will find that the human pests have introduced mammals over a hundred years ago to a group of islands that previously were a haven for birds, many flightless ground dwelling birds, such as our famous Kiwi, which incidently is not a fruit. Introduced pests such as feral pigs cause harm these birds, plus they harbour Tuberculosis.

  • @NZWildThings Hilarious that hunters lament the disappearance of extint or semi-extint species and put themselves as the saviours! Go back 100 or more years and they would have been the same people shooting the creatures that are now extinct! You cannot have it both ways, a respect for wildlife is fine, but "culling" animals in the name of sport is not. If it's down to professional "gillies" of an estate then fair enough but opening up to any old redneck is just plain stupid.

  • @sorova

You talk about "opening up" hunting opportunties as though it is something new to the human race. I have hunted since I was a child and we have always hunted to sell meat or put meat on the table. Hunting for our food was just as essential as our commercial fishing operations & our vege garden, chickens, pigs and milking cow... all part of keeping our family sustained, like many families before us over hundreds of thousands of years. Please tell me what has changed?

  • @NZWildThings If I was a peasant living in the 19th century on subsistant farming then I might agree. This is the 21st century, if people have to kill wild animals to survive then there is something very wrong about the country you live in. If you were (are) starving then I would say ok, no problem with that. Imagine if we all did that though? What sort of place would the country be? Everybody roaming the countryside hunting for food like some form of jungle community.

  • @sorova

I don't mind living in a jungle community one bit, beats concrete any day :)

  • @sorova This world would be much better off if we all lived off the land. I am proud that i can sit down to meals that have come from my backyard. My own vegetables my own meat, i have raised or caught. There is no better life then living this way.

Maybe one day you shud trace the origin of the meat you eat. Maybe then you will have your eye's opened to reality. You have ignorant views of our lifestyle while u eat meat from an animal who has never seen a blade of green grass. Thats Barbarick

  • @sorova cant stand people like you ,you have definitely forgotton what reality really is, ill take you for a hunt and bring you back to the basics how life really is nature fresh air beautiful scenery and loyal hard working dogs not to mention some bloody beautiful pork for the table fo the family

  • When will the anti hunting morons understand that commenting a video on youtube wont do shit for their cause.

  • Big brave men shooting an animal. Caveman stuff. Never heard of a supermarket?

  • @sorova

Have you ever followed an animal on it's pathway to the supermarket? Have you ever heard of Sodium Nitrate? What about sterafoam and plastic wrap?

Who's doing more harm to this world..... the hunter...... or the supermarket shopper who lost touch with reality?

  • @NZWildThings I'm a vegetarian so agree with your comments. Hunting is only acceptable in a survival situation. As a "sport" it is abhorrent.

  • @sorova

Have you seen an animal caught in a trap or poisoned to death very slowly? That is the alternative for these animals that we hunt. They are classed as a pest in our country and it is better that we utilise their meat than let them come to a horrible worthless death. I do have a great respect for the animals we hunt. I am also a vegeterian.... at least 2 days per week.

  • @sorova I have read your comments...it is clear your opinion is one that is entirely based on emotion and discards FACTS and REALITY.

1st . Yes we have heard of supermarkets and we are well aware that MEAT can be purchased there. We are also very aware that the meat purchased in a supermarket is from an ANIMAL whos purpose in life was to DIE for peoples convinience...people like YOU.

2nd the FACT of the matter is, these PESTS do huge damage to both domestic stock and native wild life.

  • @sorova Another FACT is, in Australia a land owner has a legal obligation to erradicate such pest's and it is totally 100% legal to hunt pigs with dogs, bows, guns, spears, bates and traps. You will not change this FACT.

3rd. In REALITY when a pig is hunted with dogs and dispatched with a knife, its death is very very quick..after a raor sharp blade slices through heart and lungs the animal is dead within seconds. Much faster death than the slow and aganizing death that poisons cause .

  • @80aussiepride08

It's the same in NZ the government enforces "PEST" control if wild animal numbers get too high. In fact the NZ govt uses more horrible 1080 poison on our tiny wee islands than the rest of the world combined.

  • Can boar be taken with 20 gauge?

  • @ChristianEastern

From very close range yes, but it often will just stun the pig so they are not ideal.

  • i like it

  • mean bro, wat dogs u running

  • @MultiElementSk8

    Working dog crosses

  • idiot in RED

  • @Agent000Soul

If you mean for the chance of an idiot shooting at him in a red coat, its private land and we have a team of dogs, not a stalking situation by any means

  • shit thats one of the best pig hunting vidoes on you tube

  • good stick mate..

  • THATS WHAT I CALL A PIGGY BACK RIDE

  • dude nice catch!!!. good vid man nice filimg =]

  • those dogs arent very good

  • @rempion1

Yeah but a movie of dogs holding a pig is not very interesting is it. These dogs suit my hunting style and terrain watch this clip, (Water Boar New Zealand) plus heaps more.

  • @NZWildThings oh ok haha, everyone has different styles

  • @rempion1

good way to train them let them do there own thing and the learn

  • @rempion1 what do mean no good, they found the bloody thing and got it under control long enough for the deed to be done.Dogs done well and he's a nice boar to guys.

  • lol piggy back

  • Good video! Next trip to NZ I'd love to do some hunting! Love your country!

  • Is this at near the pigroot ?

  • @Angorox

    No

  • crazy dude at 0:33

  • @NZWildThings possibly "proper" bred could be good for pups.. i've got a mongrel pup about 8 months old and shes 4th generation pighunting line including whippet catahoula mastif lab etc, shes a beautiful dog actually. anyway, im training her without a main dog to teach her, and on her first outing she tracked a scent, spooked a weaner piglet, bailed it up, and held its ear til i got there, a dog without the correct ansestry would have no idea to do that im guessing?

  • @TheLogiebeast I don't know much about breeding, except to say a dog is a dog

  • raaaaar the mighty hilux!!

  • Great vid sir. Your dogs are sweet as aye. What breed are they? And it must have been hell hiking out with that on your back.

  • awesome video mate, looking to get there from Aus next year. Is there any particular time of year there that best for pigging? cheers

  • @dscott1984

Autumn winter is best, cooler for dogs. Spring is no good on farming country due to lambing. Summer too hot but could still shoot a porker with the rifle?

  • @NZWildThings Ive never seen a pig hunting video before and i must say that its pretty sad . ya know with the dogs biting the pig the the half drown it in the river then ya stab its throat. but who cares its just a pig =D

  • that is funny video the dogs are scared of pig. And Why dogs don't have vest on them. You need some Bulldogs or Mastiffs . Great Hunt still.

  • @MasterOfAllBulldogs Yes they are scared and thats the way I like it, better than vet bills. Vests are no good for the long distances we cover & risky for getting a dog caught up in tight scrub. Large dogs are only good for one pig per day, they get too tired in the mountain terrain and feet wear out. Also at times it may take an hour or more to get to the catch so bailing is a better option than a prolonged battle, damaging both pig and dog. Basically huge dogs are useless in mountain country

  • Real nice!! Damn I can't wait until the pigs settle were I hunt (south-west Sweden)

  • You can order some dogo Argentino pups from here (California, U.S.).

When it comes to holding down big game, they are the best in business.

  • @SirianKings

  • 3:31 LOLZ Piggy Back.

  • Do you now what Benzin means? Patrol!

I like rammstein, but don't think it's the best song for a hunting Video.

Btw. I am german and in NZ for almost 2 years, maybe i'll go hunting soon.

  • @Hellsslave666

Ha ha, I am currently a New Zealander in Germany so yes I know the words. I have more videos than ideas for songs and they are very boring with no music at all and often wind blowing onto the microphone which sounds crap. Any music ideas for future videos are most welcomed.

  • thats some steep country mate where abouts is that.... good pig too

  • lol duffda brainless holders. Get a greyhound X working dog or a lockley profit? Hell even lab would have worked out to drown it.

  • @bongmannz

These dogs ARE bailers. They are not great dogs but they get plenty of pork for us. You can get them to "try" and hold by walking in on the pig, especially when it is just a wee pig like in this clip. We don't use brindle dogs because we have to hunt through sheep all the time. What is a Lockey Profit?

  • @NZWildThings

Lockley is a breed that was just registered. Breed just for pig hunting by a New Zealander. They look like a stocky grey hound but about x10 bigger. They are huge.

I just don't like dogs with big heads because %50 of the time people just let them rip pigs to pieces then call it hunting. I seen people run pitbull crosses and just sit there as the dogs rip each other and the pigs to nothing.

I find the fun about hunting with dogs is watching them out smart the pig into a nice trap

  • @bongmannz

10x bigger than a greyhound!!! Greyhounds are about hip height!!! What colour are these NZ Lockley Profit dogs?

I didn't know you could breed a dog for something as simple as pig hunting? I just get a free pup and take it hunting lots. Do you reckon a properly bred would be better for me?

  • @bongmannz

Lockey* Some guy in central north breeds them as "pro pig dogs" and it is now a registered breed. Breeding plays a lot in how well a dog can hunt. You could take a toy poodle hunting would you? Even if it saw a rat it wouldn't have the prey drive to chase it. Sure training has a lot to play in it but so does breed.

Anyway who needs dogs when you can get an eagle that can kill a wolf. Search Mongolian eagle hunting wolves on youtube. Mind=blown

  • @bongmannz

Do you know what colour the registered breed is?

  • Good stuff champ.. In Oz we have the same, just a little leaner and meaner, but still just as ugly.. Well done, and good Kiwi 2-step too lol

  • Well done and good to see

  • wat the fuck u call that hunting bro come down the east cost then u will c same real hunting plus some real dogs

  • @taitham I notice you have no videos of your own on here so look forward to seeing some. Perhaps you had better check out some of my other hunting videos under NZWildThings

  • good goin bud and good work by the dogs to.what breed r they

  • lol nice backpack!

    good fun.

  • good hunting mate's keep on going !!!!

  • Great boar but even greater scenery. Thanks for the videos.

  • Congratulations! You are a professional! I admire your video and your skills as a hunter. Good luck with your future hunts too.

  • dame you got some balls..

  • the dogs are sheep dog cross usally. Collie cross with a bit a bully or something

  • Nice one! I thought the pig was going to be drowned to death at one stage! Nice work boys!

  • thats inhumane

  • @Garret789 has listed on his page this comment.....

"i beat the shit outta fagz"

    Sounds a bit inhumane?

  • @NZWildThings what kind of dogs are those?

  • @NZWildThings i agree with this :D

  • @Garret789 hows that inhumane? it was quick and painless

  • So is that how the term "piggy back ride" originated? lol

  • Nice vid!

  • Love it!..thats what I call hunting! Great footage! Good looking dogs. Strong men! Puts all the European hunting footage to shame. Go boys! Only critique would be the knife came out too soon but thats easy for me to say sitting at home haha! 5 stars for this one!

  • I'm curious to know what kind of dogs they use to hunt pig with in NZ? They look like mixed breeds. Anyone know?

  • Thats an awsome vid. Bloody good dogs. Mint hunting country down there! He could've done some damage with those hooks to!

  • Real nice pig. Some pretty smooth moves there too heh. What kind of knives do you usually use?

  • Not normal to use a fishing knife like the one in theis clip, also normally would have the shieth attached to your belt to keep your hands free and not injure yourself or a dog. Can stick a pig with a sharp 3 1/2 inch pocket knife, or a foot long bayonet, or anything in between. I just use an ordinary hunting / skinning knife.

  • at the end of vid he piggie backs the PIGGIE get it lol :)

  • wow, thats really going into nature

  • Luv the intro music, & the hawk is a cool touch, as well as the pan out from the hilux!

  • Should have let the bugger drown when his head was in the river, a bit more novel that just stickin im. Tasty lookin pig, but small fangs, r the fangs generally small due to the rough country, or do they get bigger?

  • young porker can get bigger

  • great vid guys !

  • 2:35 he almost got him!!

  • Good vid mate. Pess off all u fools that are against the killing of wild animals, feral pigs are a pest in New Zealand. Hunters are needed to control the pig populations

  • Top video boys

  • would it be possible to go up in those hills with a 223 and get a pig without dogs?

  • Yes you could get "A" pig. But you will not see many as they can hide themselves very well. The dogs are used to find the pigs. Without the dogs you would get very few opportunities, especially in vast mountain country where the pigs could be any where. Hunting with dogs is recognised as a significant method of population control, rifle hunting is not.

  • That there is some mighty tasty pork chops, ribs and bacon. Can I go hunting with you? This looks like so much fun and then you get some nice fresh, organic meat.

  • To anyone whining about hunting boar. Get over it. People hunt and eat meat. If I lived in New Zealand, I would get all my meat from the wild instead of store bought/ranch raised/feedlot meat with its hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides, and the cattle are fed food made partially from rendered cows.

  • South Island High Country - Hard Core!

  • yeah bugger off u greenies. why would you bother searching pig hunting and watching the video clip if you have no interest in it at all. good vid SC keep em coming

  • i ABSOULUTELY hate seeing animals killed,in the wild thats 1 thing, but by us humans? is another... I HAVE A QUESTION!!

if your were that animal...would of you wanted to be killed??? OR NO??

  • If I get killed in such a death... oh well!! Maybe because I can kill, this has made me less worried about my own death?

I know I would rather it took minutes rather than painfull hours like poisons often used to kill wild animals or struggling in a trap for days.

  • I kill many farm animals for other people that can't do it themselves as well. I can hold a casual conversation about the weather while cutting a throat. That is because I don't think about it the way some people do.

When I do meet my demise, I won't be imotalised on youtube and I won't be used to feed a family. And neither myself or the pig will remember the funeral.

  • I do find it odd that vegans and animal rights people watch hunting films? I haven't done a search on the life of a soya bean or how to knit a cardigan. Those things are not my scene so I don't watch them!!

  • I have a question...would you like to see NZ literally devoid of all plantlife, native or not? No? Then you are a hypocrite.

  • excellent video. whereabouts is this, NI SI, its a beautiful looking area. good reflexes aswell, it was a close call when the pig turned on u. good video mate, 5*

  • Cheers man, the guy getting chased is my mate... I am holding the camera. It is in the south of the South Island up in the high country.

  • nice

  • IRONIC. Hes givin the pig a piggie back!

  • LOL. Very funny. Thanks for the laugh. !!!!!

    Sweeeeeeeet.

  • Good video guys

  • Thanks ... look forward to you loading up some footage, I am sure you'd have plenty

  • great pig and and fantastic vid - well done guys.

  • mean bail up mate.....an if you dont like it don't watch dramers.....big boars big jaws

  • DOESNT US HUMANS KNOW WRONG FROM RIGHT??! thats wrong. all i half to say is sit downn alone,or with ur dogs and think, does your dogs liek doing it? or just do because there trained to? if u take a house dog and put it there,it owuld be injured probely,if its trained they will kill it because there trained to! sit down like i said and just think..think of dying and theres no way not to..think of yourself dying..thats how that animal felt..and please stop doing it,love animals..look at ur dog..

  • I truely do love my dogs and I do love animals. Just because I kill does not mean I hate. I choose not to buy my meat from a supermarket, but instead we go get it from the hills and forests.

Please do a search on Bovine Teburculosis and see how much pain and death that causes. Feral pigs need to be kept under control as they habour this disease. It is very difficult to kill wild pigs without the use of dogs.... by the way they are house dogs and they are NOT "trained to kill"

  • mate ur dreaming! i have gogs myself and 2 of them sleep inside with my girlfriend they are the nicest dogs ive ever had friendlyer than my old lab.... y dont u sit down and think about what uve said and also research what u have said before u start slinging around rash acusations like u just have!!!
