  • Years ago... a girl "friend" handed me this cd... and said "this is the sexiest music on the planet. Remember me when you listen."

  • Is this an Angel singing?, i's so delicious!, my mind melts in a methaphysical-orgasmic powered kind of way.

[reminded me of EBTG at the time, the original that is, or maybe that's just me again]

sounds to me like a luxuriant plant lifting its head up to make a melodious suggestion,

or maybe i should just sign-off now before i become too cherry-colored

  • can't ever tell what the fuck she's saying, which is what makes it so great!

  • This is the first Chill Wave Dream Pop music I ever heard. When I hear Washed Out it reminds me, gives me the same feeling of listening to the Cocteau Twins in high school. Listening over and over while painting. Lots of artist are inspired and influenced by this music. Some also sample it.........

  • The Weeknd sampled this[:

  • @MrVariousProductionz in wich song?

  • @freudastaire The Knowing

  • @TheRealNickMarino

My fave out of all three mixtapes

  • Met my girlfriend for dinner, we had some drinks and she invites me back to her place. Candles, low light, a bed, this song on. Such great memories everytime I hear this I can't tell you. Music brings tears to my eyes.

  • @bsanchez68 Ditto bro. so many great memories...(young love)...

  • It's got to be one of the coolest songs ever written?

  • @VenusRomance

Trust me...no they shouldn't. People who dislike this are better off not listened to.

  • I had this song in a loop in Medical School. I was Studying Biochemstry, went to the beach and never saw the shore. When the test came, I heard the music and blew the classs out of the water.

  • @MrHellhath17 well done.this song helped me get through a night with my loved ones.UP THE BORO.

  • Hmm, there seems the Weeknd sampled a part from this song... Am I right? :/

  • @VillainPie Indeed you are correct, twas for The Knowing.

  • i honestly wish i could put my feelings for this song n band into words.little bit like Liz Frazier.she's the bestest.

  • amazing song <3

  • People have different tastes, that's why (maybe) the explanation of the dislike bar, but at the end what matter the dislike bar, we are here because we like this not because it has or not dislike votes. So who cares about the person that give this video dislike?

  • THE WEEKND !

  • exit wounds

  • @VenusRomance No explanation needed. It's just envy from mediocre musicians.

  • Goose bumps..... This song sets me higher every time I hear it!!!! for 20 years.... Burning lips... omg, her voice, seductive and warm.... guitars......... Bass........

"And should I be hugged and tugged down through this tiger's masque

And should I be sung and unbroken by not saying

    You mind not saying..."

  • Still gives me goosebumps.

  • 11 people hate music.

  • Pretty much the Best!! must play SUPER-LOUD!

  • Love this song. Great band live.

  • Great music!! If you like this check out danish act INOUWEE with the song "My closet in your heart"

  • I can't believe Morrisey told something like that. I've always loved Cocteau Twins and The Smiths at the same level... :(

  • @EtaKarinae87 What did he say?

  • 10 people are Morrissey fans. :P

  • Feel the heart bleed.....

  • when this was released I was only a baby :) I miss the 90's

  • I conceived my my child to this song. He's 19 and going to College Station to become an Aggie and not a priest.

  • anyone of a certain age will recall the wonder of getting a new 4AD cd or record, or just seeing the art spoiled in a magazine ad... they were always beyond glorious. i know this one is just fiber optic cables, or that 'in ribbons' was just a close up of a wax sculpture... but to paraphrase another cocteau twins song, they looked like assemblies of 'exquisite stuff'

  • Morrissey hates them (Cocteau Twins) because Robert Smith likes them...Hahaha

  • @thenewfella1994 If Morrisey said that, im so sure he was very jelous... Cocteau Twins are soooo superior to Morrisey music, Morrisey its like, pop music, and the Cocteau Twins are like fine art.

  • lovely.

  • this is amazing

  • waoh i firstb heard iof the cocteau twins bak in the early nineties and everytime ilisten to their music i just get taken away of all the music ive heard over the years has nothing on them The music is magical haunting and jiust totally inspiring I have only met one person who shares my feelings There should be more but anyone whi listens to it just doewsnt understand it So to all the Cocteau Twin fans out there whom I dongt know This is for you XO Elizabeth Frazer LUV YA

  • sublime

  • This beautiful song has always totally melted me to my soul since I first heard this back in the day when it was first released. Totally timeless.

  • @CasertaRed

What he said- In all reality this is a great album that finished an excellent career by Elizabeth Frasier and company. I've always been a fan, but it drove me nuts how she was able to write like this. Slightly mispronouncing words using her voice gave it a very dream-like quality. Almost child-like interpretations of lyrics, but she was a master of melodies that could be gentle, elegant, dark, and yet full of longing. This band was fantastic.

  • Comment removed

  • @thenewfella1994 His lyrics can be inspiring, true .. But yet very depressing in most aspects, I stick with my choice of words after hearing that. Cocteau Twins are the most harmless band I know. Insulting them is a stupid thing to do really ... they'd never say that to him

  • @thenewfella1994 Well if that's true then it just proves Morrisey is a true asshole? <3

  • @thenewfella1994 Tell me where and when please? It doesn't sound like something he'd say o.o

  • @thenewfella1994 Does he ...

  • 20 years ago I was alone in my room, with the lights off, trying to sleep, but I couldn't, so I played this new album my girlfriend told me about, and when this song started to sound, it felt like angels were talking to me. This kind of music always brings back the good memories. Thank u Cocteau Twins

  • My Children,Listen To This, and All Related Music,Their Amazed How could A Person have Such An Angelic Voice,Which will be For Ever More With us in our Hearts and Souls. A God Send

  • You can get tired of even your favourite songs if you play them too much, but i could listen to this one forever..

  • Robert Smith mix

  • Looks like a few people hit the dislike button by mistake....perhaps they were viewing this upside down?

  • @grummreaper Why do you care?

  • @markoctavio Who says I care? Besides why do you care to ask me why I care?

  • @grummreaper Cause those "people who dislike..." comments are so annoying

  • @markoctavio Such 'people who dislike" comments, although fairly ubiquitous in youtube are normally positive in nature and as such don't bother me hence my timid attempt at humour in reaction to @VenusRomance comment, seriously their as valid as any other comment (with the exception of the spammers and youtube trolls). It must be a bit of a burden getting annoyed about such small things

  • @grummreaper Like you said, its becoming almost spam

  • @markoctavio I didn't say, you did and its wrong

  • @grummreaper

and yeah, by "positive in nature" you mean "all those who do not like that video that I like and most of the public here likes are somehow assholes and twats"? coz these "those who dislike this are.." usually follows that formula. You know, that reminded me of the comment I've seen recently - it said "## reasons to use a condom". How is it positive? It's just offencive and arrogant. and that, sir, is called being an ass, and not "positive in nature".

  • @erghtrfgh Sigh....are you quite finished with your rants, I'm sure it caused a fair amount of spittle on your screen. I didn't say any of what you thrashed out, you did it all on your own, nicely done...let me make it clear, my ONLY point is that something can be positive if humour is attempted, it doesn't matter if its unoriginal, and its really not worth getting that upset about it if you don't agree. Aggressive negative means more screen wipes...and that sir IS called being an ass

  • @grummreaper do you like racist jokes? after all, they are "postive in nature" if they "attempt to be funny".

  • @erghtrfgh Where exactly did I say this was ALWAYS the case? You have taken words out of context and used them crudely to attempt advantage in a discussion. The key components was initially the use of the word "Normally" and in my last and more important post "Can". I have at no stage said "always". You're point is poor

  • @grummreaper I just knew you'd say that. So let me rephrase that: SOMETIMES you like rassist jokes because they CAN amuse you. right? point is: 1) "those who dislike" jokes are made by people, representing the majority and are pointed against the minority, a lot like rasist jokes. why dont you go to bieber video to talk crap about the dislike-ppl?

  • @erghtrfgh Ok look at my original post, it was simply providing an answer to a "dislike" question, nothing more. Suddenly you've turned it into "I like racist jokes" and that I "deprive people their freedom of judgement" because I don't mind if people post "dislike" comments and can see that its normally done with a little light humor...What do you drink at parties, morose paranoia on the rocks? You keep mentioning bieber, I don't mind if you're a fan of his, you see I hold no prejudice

  • @grummreaper To the bieber part - good one. u got me I have his posters all over my room.

anyways, did you get my point on "the dislike" jokes? wasn't it valid after all? or do you think there is nothing wrong (and annoying) in this kind of jokes? don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to argue on the validity of this kind of jokes here, not trying to imply you are a rassist or anything. no hard feelings towards you, and no paranoia hysteria rly. If you don't like this conversation - lets end it.

  • @erghtrfgh I fully see where you are coming from, aside from your bieber covered room ;). I never said it was in any way invalid as a point of view. As I've mentioned a number of times previously these "dislike" comments don't bother me nor do I find them offensive however that doesn't mean I condone them either. At the end of the day there is much greater evils in the world than people who write "dislike" comments in youtube....bieber music for a start.

  • @grummreaper 2) how is it in any way "positive in nature" if it's obviously offensive? don't you see that this jokes symbolically deprive one's freedom of judgment? 3) that jokes are (almost always, ok?) unfunny, ubiquitous, monotonous spam.

  • One of their prettiest. One of the best albums ever.

Not get pissed off through my bird lips as good news

Still we can find our love down from behind

Down far behind this fabulous, my turn rules

Not get pissed off through my bird lips as good news

You'll hang the hearts black and dull as the night

Should I be sung and unbroken by not saying

Still being cried and laughed at from behind me, from gains

Hugged and tugged down through this tiger's masque for key

  • The language of Love - That's how I would describe these words. I don't know the language. I merely sense that it exists. And this does as good a job as any of translating this language into English.

  • How the Cocteau Twins married these lyrics to the music is a mystery to me. Was the music written to the words or the words to the music?

  • I'm a trained musician. I studied the pipe organ. I conducted chorus. I played in a rock band. The styles of music I like are absurdly diverse. And I just discovered this song three hours ago and was unprepared to hear something so captivating. Then I looked up the lyrics and it took me back to the days when I was trying my best to be a poet.

  • awe cuuuuuute

  • wow! no way!

  • Making out to the Cocteau Twins just goes together like peaches n cream. yummmm

  • Reminds me me of making out and drinkin' wine.

The moon And the Melodies. Does anyone remember them?

  • Surreal and always Layered with Beauty.

  • thanx 4 the post. where's kate bush?

  • This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. It is timeless and impossible to describe. I know it sounds cheesy, but things like this make me thankful that I am alive to experience.

  • @sasutron

re: "This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. It is timeless and impossible to describe. I know it sounds cheesy, but things like this make me thankful that I am alive to experience." Nope, to me, it sounds heart-warmingly beautiful what you wrote and I agree!

  • This song was one of hundreds I randomly downloaded to try and get into Shoegazery music (I had already heard one or two Cocteau Twins songs previously).

I didn't take much notice as a lot of the songs bled together. Then I remember I had a dream, and it had this song playing in it. I had no idea which of the songs it was out of the ones I'd listened but I knew I had to hear it again. I found it. And I was hooked on the genre ever since. Amazing song.

  • this is such an awesome song

  • What a fantastic song.

  • listening to the twins is like wrapping yourself in a warm musical blanket.still sounds as fresh as when it first came out.magic!

  • This song is so beautiful. It opens my heart and fills all of my being with pure joy and love.

  • When we are given an Abstract it is the kindest gesture, it's coded; security you could never afford of your own. When a General or highest Administrative government briefs U a STAT it's compressed revealing to you ~ENGAGE!@#!

Not only is it exillerating as it is an honour that you were chosen to be it's messanger and barer, but for as little time that was afforded you...you know you Will do what E V E R it takes to deliver your part in obedience.

~Know it is a 'Brief' alt.

  • Magic from another world.

  • Ugh, I love this song too much.

  • haha the chorus makes me want to cry!!!! god whats wrong with me....

  • I am sooooo happy that I just looked up this song- WOW- I REALLY needed the stress relief today ...

  • "Heaven or Las Vega", - best album title ever.

  • @Nenshati19 It would be, if you didn't forget the "s" in "Vegas".

  • @Nenshati19 Heavan or Las Wegoo

  • I've always wanted to make love to this album.

  • @GeneLattanzi That's perverted, not to mention potentially painful if not downright dangerous. Take my advice, depending on your gender, find yourself a boy/girl!

  • @GeneLattanzi Huh???

  • @GeneLattanzi Are you aware that you posted that "huh???" to yourself?!

  • This song may be old, and I may be a young woman...But my god, I could listen to this forever.

  • In regards to the comments about this song being similar to Coldplay's "Yellow", the only similarity is the tempo and general rhythm, which have been extremely common throughout the history of rock music. The chords aren't even in the same. Use your ears, people...

  • And should I be hugged and tugged down through this tigers mask ( we think) well thats what we have sung loudly for 20 years

  • How can anyone manage to be such a completely mind-blowing vocalist?

  • Timeless.. bought this as a album years ago and never tire of hearing it.

  • my brother bought this for me many christmas's ago, great disc, ethereal, the somber melody, liltiing tones,as if a chime stirred by the wind of an angels wing

  • best come-down album ever

  • Elizabeth Fraser Might have the sexiest voice ever. Kelli Ali and Toni Halliday are up there, tho.

  • @D4MVP Liz Fraser doesn't even try to be sexy which is why she is and Toni Halliday wasn't!

  • @MisAnnThorpe Toni Halliday was one of the sexiest women to ever walk the Earth, but it was in a maneating, exhibitionist sort of a way. Liz is like Leonardo Da Vinci painting come to life. Deeply classically elegant and exquisite in her art.

  • @Polyfusia For me Toni Halliday always reminded me of a much less classy Beatrice Dalle. Even the gap between Dalle's teeth was sexy! Dalle was probably a better singer too!

  • Blss...pure bliss...

  • PURE.GENIOUS.SUBLIME.HEAVEN.

  • Today is the 20 year anniversary of this album's release

  • @ChachiArcola wow, i we must celebrate, really, this music are like jewels to my ears

  • @markoctavio indeed it is, my friend. These are the most beautiful sounds to ever caress my ears. Raise your glass to immortality.

  • @ChachiArcola la misma edad que yo tengo, jijiji es mi cancion favorita

  • @ChachiArcola 8 fucks

  • @ChachiArcola

hard to believe it. their sound is immune from being "dated" imo

  • @DYKEPALS Ageless and Immortal.

  • I know I know this is supposed to be her made up language, or so I'm told. But it definitely has meaning for me, whether or not she meant the lyrics to be semi-transparent or whatever. I love you so much for reading my dumb fan comment. I hope you do something with all this comment reading someday. I wanna make a great band to push forward culture beyond corporations, like that will happen. Well seeya.

  • ....in che senso?...della libera....uscita?....

  • really? god...that makes me feel so old!!! I remember being excited for it's release! love this band.

  • One of my all time favorite songs. Our local goth haunt still spins this one.

  • listening to cocteau twins from an early age helps prepare the brain for learning all kinds of foreign languages... I memorized a bunch of their songs without ever knowing what exactly is being said

  • Midnight plane journey over France, window seat, with this song on my Ipod. Unforgetable. Then the bloody stewardess ruined the experience by telling me to turn it off as we descended. Bitch.

  • This reminds me about last summer when me, my sister and my cousin were making a tree-ornament to my cousin's room. We spent few days painting, cutting paper and cooking some food together. We had many breaks when we were just floating on swimming-mattresses in the lake and gazing the sky. We had so much fun together! This sounds too romantic to be true, but it really happened.

  • How good is this... so fckin underrated.. jesus H!

  • nice song.. i like alice by them 2

  • So many memories with this song,,,,, so etheral, love it.....

  • I'll say it again : my favorite song of all time...I never tire of hearing it...so good.

  • One of the very few good albums that came out of the 90s
