  • My mufflers double as my sliders 0_o

  • but does it smog?

  • Interesting....I own a 2006 Rubicon and it has factory axles and diff's with air lockers, which are Dana 44's and 4.11 gears with a Rock-Trac transfer case. I was not aware a 4:10 gear set was offered for Rubicons. Do like the V8 though.

  • i have a tj and looking for a new bumper what kind is that

  • man i bet that thing will get up and go! nice rig man

  • what kind of exhaust system do you have on that?

  • Flames = Gay

  • @Ghostman996 thats funny because by saying that, your flaming this guys video. Nice jeep man, 5**** for sure

  • that's encredible

  • music ?

  • WTF kind of music is this boy.

  • How much did your transmission cost and where can I find it?

  • sounds awesome but why the fuck would you put flames on it

  • AWESOME. this thing is a beast. And it looks awesome too. I'm jealous :P

  • nice job, but putting a GM motor in a Mopar is bad omen.

  • @neolexington Even some of the new jeeps have gm transmissions... I know mine does...

The originals were built with ford rear ends, gm front ends, a gm engine and a ford transmission just because it was cheapest. (I am exaggerating but it is true)

  • @neolexington Dude putting a GM motor in a Jeep is one of the most common things Jeep lovers do to their Jeeps

  • @neolexington why is that? Mopar has even been sticking GM motors under the hood of thier jeeps forever.

  • @originaldriver when did mopar do that? i know that AMC did some gm v6s.

  • @fitbmxseries1 The jeep wranglers used GM built Iron Duke 4-bangers and some of the Jeep cherokees came with GM built 2.8l v6.

Proof of this is still evident in the fact that the Jeep WY wrangler 2.4l retains the GM designed 60 degree v6 bellhousing patteren. Its the reason that GM 3800 and 3400 swaps are so popular in older 95 WJ wranglers and some cherokees.

Did you know that the moderen 3.7l mopar v6 even still uses the same crank/rod bearings as a GM 60 degree 3.4 and 2.8l?

  • @originaldriver i did not know that! learn somting new every day!

  • what intake did you use on the 5.3. it looks like the same one off a H2. Im looking for a more protective intake for my tahoe

  • Nice jeep brother...looks like a ton of work went into it

  • Nice work! That thing must pull like nobody's business. But why did you stop the exhaust before the rear wheels? Do you get fumes in the cabin? And for the record I like the song.

  • damn dude NICE jeep but biiiig but major point lossage with it being automatic. all jeeps should be made in 5speed :) just my opinion tho

  • @xialong123 i disagree... I prefer an automatic for my jeep

  • @xialong123

y so people who werent ever tought how or cant drive a stick even if they wanted to couldnt drive a jeep

  • @xialong123 correction, in 6 speed manual

  • @pinesol24 no not a correction. 6 and 5 speed. the older TJs are 5 as well as all the older models. the newer uglyass stupid wranglers are 6 speed.

  • Comment removed

  • GOOD GOD.......i came.

  • how does it sound awesome with the lame ass music playin??????

  • what are the specs on the exhaust?

  • sick rebuild but i would have to agree you need to take it out.. im about to put a v8 chevy 350 in my wrangler

  • way too fucking clean. that thing begs to see dirt and you're too much of a vag to take her out.

  • Ever stop to think he couldn't wheel it during the build? this video was probly taken right after he was done. its also possible to wash a jeep... douche bag

  • the whole jeep is and a+ awsome build, but get rid of the flames and that yellow mall crawler color, and paint it flat green army green olive somtin.lol

  • agree 100%

  • that is cool but that is kinda counter intuitive having the rocker guards and the ankle burners

  • Nice job...looks and sounds awesome!

  • sweet jeep!

  • what kind of tailights do you have? is that a kit? let me know

  • the flames are a bittt gay haha

  • agreed about the flames but im still really jeolous of the engine. i want that for my rubi

  • i bet those side pipes love getting hung up on rocks...

  • anyone know what song this is?

  • It's called "bring sally up" its a theme song from gone in 60 seconds.

  • rubicons have dana 44s

  • I'm interested--Price-Location-Still for sale

  • i love it!!! im currently planing a V8 conversion after i have enough mods to properly handle it, how much did this cost you ?

  • I love Jeeps, I have an FSJ and a TJ, but my question is: Who does that song?

  • moby does the song

  • Thats fucking SIK!!!

The flames are kinda gay though!!

  • where did you get your tail lights

  • You wheel that thing? One thing, winch?

  • Where did you get the tail lights from, did you order them from somewhere or did you just buy the lights and do a custom install?

  • thats smart how you routed the exhaust to the rear tires, melts the snow and ice off ;]

  • kinda gay lookin flames, its not a dragster

  • i like the jeep i have a 03 jeep stock 4.0 with 4 " lifft 33's and tubular bumpers i was thinking of adding two more inches i think 350 in a jeep isa cool i think a 426 hemi with tunnel ram and blower and open heads is overkill but cool

  • Clearly, if the jeep was really wheeled, the mufflers would be ripped right off.

  • that was the first think i thought. im sure that theres a better way to route that pipeing.

  • first thought in my head too

  • nice jeep...

  • are those hutchinson beadlocks? I like em

  • All that and no winch? What ever

  • i spy a zuk.

  • V8 wranglers are nasty imo.. I can stand on the gas in a yj with a 350 and turn the wheel lock to lock with 33 pro comp directional tires.. (baja claws) and the jeep will go straight on almost any surface. wet roads, dirt, gravel. dry roads it will turn some if u let off the gas. ;-D

  • Nice jeep dude!

  • putting a v8 in a TJ is like adding 3 inches to Ron Jeremys dick, its overkill. Flushing good money down the shitter.

  • just remember urskine, if we added three inches to your dick you still wouldn't be able to see it because you're such a pussy! V-8's kick ass!!

  • Loved the Engine roar

  • why a GM V8 I mean I like GM but why mix the cars it would have been better with the 5.7 Hemi or some V8 made bye chrysler

  • what a clean set up.. keeep that up man

  • why would u put your exhaust under the rocksliders? if u ever came down on a rock and pinched your exhaust ud be kinda fucked

  • Likely a mall crawler...nice, tho!

  • Yeah, a trailer queen for a queen.

  • Why...why would you go all flamey?

  • NICEEEEE... Cept those bushwacher flares.. I used to like the look of them, but they suck on the trail... Anyway, still sweet ride

  • Quick question for you: I like the Rock Sliders you have there, but wanted to ask you about them if I might. I see they stick out a little bit, but do they function at all as a step. My wife hates trying to climb into our jeep, but I really don't want to throw a pair of tube style steps on there. Just curious.

  • They don't really work well as a step as they are too high and too narrow.

  • Do you have the wiring documentation posted somewhere on the Internet, or how could I get a hold of this information?

  • Why not just put a 2wd trans and an xj 2wd front ends on it if your just going to drive around all hardcore like?

  • I usually have 3 off road vehicles in the works. One is being used for hard core stuff (trailered). One is used for trips out west and one is under construction. As the hard core machine gets worn out I use the long trip vehicle for more hard core stuff and I transition the show Jeep into long distance trail service. Eventually this jeep would see trail use.

  • Part of jeeps originality was maintaining gas mileage, hence the need for a 4 cylinder engine. The extra 2 cylinders on a 6, or the 4 on your custom engine really don't make much of a difference when your using extremely low gear ratios.

  • Excellent video! I just bought a V8 car art poster from cartech49 dot gr. Great fun art for my garage wall!

  • She sounds like a beast! Good build.

  • Yeah..sry bout that.I got a little sidetracked. there lol

  • Sweet build man! I agree people on here shouldn't comment unless they have something worthwhile to say. Is it injected? How did you wire the gauge cluster? That musta' been a difficult task....I'll have to say I am jealous.

  • Jeez, im 15 and i know you woudnt need dana 60s. Thats way too much. Its not like hes rock crawling or anything. Even dana 40s would be a good upgrade in the future. But everything else on it is just fine. Very nice jeep. Im buying a cherokee and putting a 350 in it as soon as i turn 16.

  • u meen dana 44s

  • dana 60s arent overkill. pricy, but not overkill. you'd need dana44s to unleash the full potentional of a V8 with oversized tires though. as soon as they start spinning and you grab traction, there go your axles. stock wranglers still have dana 30s in the front and 35s in the rear (i may be wrong!)

  • You're right. base wranglers have the d30 front and d35 rear unless you got the optional towing package or sahara. which gave you a d44 rear and obviously the rubicons which have d44 front and rear along with the 4to1 transfer case.

  • sport version of the TJ comes with 30 up front and 44

  • That;s not true, I have a sport and it has a 35 in the rear

  • some late off the line had 44's stock....call a dealer....i have an 02.....stock dana 44

  • Not all. On a few did.

  • Not really. Mine came with 35's f/r

  • Cool stumper jumper, like what you have done! I saw a WW2 clip of a Jeep pulling a tank out of a ditch. now that was a capable driver dvaders.

  • Looks good. Too bad a bunch of jealous assholes have to make bad comments...

  • Wow, stupid people shouldn't be able to comment on things they know nothing about. "Expect twisted, broken everything with jeep gear behind a V8." ? Ok, do you mean behind one of the V8s that have been going into them at the factory since the 70's? Or one of the hundreds of crate V8's that people often successfully installed since the late 80's? tard

  • nice bushwacker fenders....

  • True, but would you rather have used with 15k miles or used with 175k miles :-)

  • i was just messin yo i wish i had a ride loke that or a ride its self

  • Man, that engine sounds sweet!! Good work!!

  • Nice engine swap. Need to protect those mufflers though man. Unless you're just going to do shopping malls with it. But it still kicks ass.

  • Did you put it in yourself? where did you find the engine and conversion kit/ i want one for mine!!!!

  • Nice Jeep, but if it sees any kind of trail duty, the mufflers are gonna get banged good being dumped out the side.

  • That is one sweet JEEP dude. Love the V8!

  • Beautiful!

  • Do you know where I could get the full set of Bushwacker Fender Flares for a YJ for a good price?

  • What kind of bumper is that??

  • Can't tell you at the moment. I can tell you that the metal is thinner than the overbuilt and overweight stuff thats mostly available. Weight is a bad thing and a bumper should only be heavy enough to absorb light hits, not resist a nuclear explosion.

  • Not enough travel for the size tire your running? Or are you concerned with the added weight up front?

  • The suspensions not done yet but in any event I like to keep the CG low by limiting uptravel and relying on droop for articulation, (best for off-camber trails). The aluminum V8 weighs the same as the stock Jeep 6 cylinder engine :-)

  • Too pretty to do what it's supposed to. How about some action?

  • Can't do any action shots yet, the suspension isn't done yet

  • Great sound!!! Is this an automatic?

  • Yes, the original 4L60E that came with the motor was used and is controlled by the GM PCM.

  • Man, that is amazing. Awesome job!

  • Only a 1 inch body lift was used. The tubes run from the manifolds, through the frame/body opening to stainless steel flex hoses then to the cats and mufflers. I should also mention that I built a separate exhaust that runs behind the skid plate that is more suitable for offroad use. The two cheapo mufflers I used for the dual exhaust need to be replaced with Borlas or similar for a better exhaust note also.

  • ok cool on the mufflers, you had me worried. I would go with the flowmasters. Would sound awesome with that setup.

  • The exhaust passes over the frame otherwise it would eat up ground clearance. The cats are outside the frame rails and you can see them just ahead of the mufflers.

  • i'll bet

man i own an 02 TJ

i cant imagine somthing that small in weight with an engine that BIG

how much did that conversion cost you all together??

  • I have a little over $20,000 in it so far. Not a bad price considering that it's basically a brand new vehicle :-)

  • i want to hear that thing floored

  • Sorry, rear suspension isn't done yet and I'd likely tear off the stock control arms if I floored it :-) In the video I've hardly got the pedal down but it does GO!
