You missed the part in the movie were Hooper made the joke about his ex breaking his heart when he was drunk and comparing scars with Quint, that was one of the most classic parts of the movie! Other than that this video did put a smile on my face and made me want to watch jaws again.

It's called money. Jaws was the biggest ever box office hit back in 1975, and made $260 million. For this reason the studio insisted on making a sequal (they want more money), and since Spielberg himself didn't have the right to the name, they decided to make it without him. Big mistake.

The Exorcist made a lot of money in 1973, so they made a shitty sequal to that one too in 1977 (few have seen it).

Today sequals to make more money is commonplace. Remakes too.

i would like to know if anyone can tell me the following: the scene that kwint - robert shaw- cuts the rope - to try to avoid that the shark won't rip the back part of the boat - and imediatly after stakes that big large knife on wood at the edge of the boat..that very scene with the knife, the water behind with the light of the sun reflected on the water..is that scene a homage or a reference that spielberg payed to any other film?..as for instance..'a knife on the water' by Polanski? thanks

Instead of telegraphing the humor to us with the titles just let the scenes play as is. Its kind of the same as being able to read the cue cards ahead of the joke. Takes the impact out of what we are about to watch. Jaws still rocks though.
