  • i hate those noon sirens

  • Nice bit with the wives jumping out of their mid-1970's pantsuits in fearful guilt when the siren goes off just as they leave the library with the books stashed in one's purse.

  • I got lucky. When I was eleven my aunt took me to see this movie because she mistook it for a movie about motorcycle racing. She got so into it she let me stay and watch it as long as I promised not to tell my parents.

  • the motor cycle rider is hot! ;) is that peter fonda?

  • @calsweet

  • You know you're in a high-class 'burg when the law enforcement officer is named 'BOOGER".

  • I like that comment from Warren Oats. "Well this time they ran out of cats."

  • The whole bloody town are Satanists? What are the odds? Like I said the slow motion ending with the chanting was terryfing when I was a kid.

  • @andy65guitar Remember, it's a small backwoods town, and the movie did not imply every single eprson was a Satanist, but the majority certainly were. And this is totally believable, esp in a small town.

  • I guess the 70's was a good decade for Satan movies. The Omen The Excocist etc. They all scared me and I loved it! People should make more movies that just scare the hell outta you! No blood just terror and suspense. It does seem to be coming back of late. I need more scary stuff without the predictability.

  • "well this time they ran outta cats" haha! class.

  • Around this time there was a lot of interest in the occult anyway and in Britain there were reports of nude dancing in cemeteries and signs of grisly sacrifices such as kitten's paws. Evil certainly exists and someone who casts a spell may well make sure by unmagical means that it is effective, as the witchdoctors in Africa still do.

But how did these women imagine that they could borrow a book from a library even it wasn't a reference book if they didn''t live in that town?

  • Having grown up as a teenager in the 70s

I always liked these movies, especially made for tv movies. The stories always kept your attention. This is a great one. Thanks for taking the time to upload. I don't think I could have seen it otherwise:)
