  • I have vague memories of seeing this on television and not being terribly impressed. Time has not changed this opinion.

  • What is the song at 2:22

  • @EpicalReserve starting from 2.22 on to the end its "one o' clock jump"

  • Benny was very much alive at the time, why didn't Benny play the part himself.

Because He would have not had to read a script.

  • @MrHadley2011

    ...(smiles)...it's true...thanks for commentary! :))

  • Loved the Floating Clarinet of Doom in the little title sequence...

  • @Altoclarinets

    Thanks for commentary!!! ... :))

  • Thanks, 'Cinegrar'. By the way, Ziggy Elman's solo for "As the Angels Sing" was actually recreated by Mannie Klein on the soundtrack, as Elman was unable to participate in the recording session.

  • Art Gilmore is the trailer's announcer.

Quite frankly, the music was much better than the film himself. Even Benny wasn't that happy about it (he wanted to appear as himself in a brief "coda" to the film, but the studio refused). If you love fictional Hollywood "schmaltz" about a great jazz legend, by all means, enjoy it.

  • Thanks for its commentary! :)))
