I think I should make it entirely clear that i think Buble is a really good singer and he certainly has 'it' . You only have to see the faces of the (mostly female!) audience members to see he is a very charismatic performer and he definitely can sing fine live. All I'm saying is if he really CAN do what he does at 3.17 here totally live without the help of a backing track then he's unique as far as I'm concerned as I haven't seen anyone else do that.

@TheTommyTaylor Well it's higly unlikely to find an EXACT video on youtube of him doing the EXACT same thing as he does at 3.17 but if you do just watch him singing without a microphone at all then you'd see how much his voice carries and that it is perfectly possible for the sound to be picked up when he's got his head turned :)

Your reluctance to do this is puzzling/telling. I can't see what the problem is, from what you are suggesting you tube must be awash with such happenings, so go for it. @timlawsmusic Are you a politician? You've ignored 99% of my post, lol. I'm assuming you use the same mic as Buble and also employ his 'mic technique' so let's see you doing what he did at 3.17. You're a performer, why the reticence to 'strut your stuff'? And how about my other challenge? Link me to a live CONCERT performance (not TV) where he uses the mike like he does here, i.e. facing the opposite direction & at least a metre away from his mouth. Put up or shut up time, I feel.

Haha, you may think that he was lipsyncing because the perform was so perfect. But if you're his fan, you'll know that he is always perfectly live and especially, he likes to play with the micro.

Or if you don't trust him yet, I'll show that in 0:46 and 1:29, he breathed in very loud and in 1:58, the "keep" was broken (I don't know the exact word) in the micro. But that's not all, you can notice many parts that he was out of breath and can not lengthen the sentence enough.

those claiming that no normal mic can pic up from that distance do not have clue what they are talking about. buble has a mic technique that has been adopted by many great singers dean martin, nina simone and andy williams to name but a few. the concept is very simple. the mic is turned higher than it needs to be so the artist can control volume by moving the mic closer or further from their mouths. should the volume dip a compressor kicks in to boost the mic level. he did not mime

I never have claimed this performance was totally mimed/lip sync'd, my argument has always been that he sang 'live' over a pre-recorded 'live sounding' backing track. Are you also refuting that claim? At 3.17 he's singing in the opposite direction to the mike and his voice is still blaring out, lol. At 3.27 he's actually singing out of his left ear and, yes, his voice is again blaring out. Hmmm. Discuss...

@TheTommyTaylor, Kay I will explain :) If you watch or listen to his song "a song for you" and watch it performed live, you will see when he ditches the microphone how powerful his voice is! I watched him live about a month ago and the stadium is huge! I was right at the top tier and he sang without a microphone, thewhole arena was quiet...so guess what, I could hear him!! His voice can travel to the mic so well that even he does turn his head a biit the microphone is still going to pickup onit

@TheTommyTaylor Go and have a look at him singing Maroon 5 -This Love on his Caught In The Act DVD, at the end he sings a lot when the mic is either not by his mouth or when his head is turned to the side. You can still here him as his voice is so powerful. And find a video where he sings Song For You live (there's one on my uploads) and at the end he sings without a microphone and he can be heard all over massive arenas!

You see, Buble can (technically correctly) claim he wasn't miming here, you know. Many artists now sing live OVER a pre-recorded 'live sounding' recording specially recorded to make it different to the single/album version. Loads do it but as they are still using a live mike and 'singing' then they can claim to have not mimed/sung live. Seems to have duped ppl

I have a feeling that's what is happening here. There are clear clues that he's having some some of electronic/pre-recorded help here.
