The main reason why this book was banned isnt because of the fact that it's a homosexual couple. Animals react to instinct and when this book is read to children, the kids will believe that it was their instinct and nature, that when you are labeled gay its because of nature. But what happens if one child is bullied in school, constantly called "nerd" or "gay", he would not become homosexual because it is his choice but because he was labeled as one, he believes he is truly is one.

I really liked the little annotation toward the end of the video. "It's sad when the "family values" of a few trump the value of family for all" This is such a beautiful interpretation of the senseless banning of this book.

That was a nice story. Why is it banned? There is nothing sexual in this book at all. It's about two gay penguins that want to have a baby. All it does is teach kids how alternative families can work.

I think it is awful that closed minded people think that this book should be banned. It is a beautiful touching story. As someone who works with children, we have to teach children to understand and be respectful of all types of families. ignorance begets fear and fear begets violence, so the best way to teach open mindedness is to teach.

I LOVE this book. I bought it for my little cousin who has two daddies and they are AMAZING parents. They're fair, not too strict, but not too lenient and love their baby so much. It's really sad that THIS book is on a banned books list.

If you're worried about "sexual acts", both heterosexual and homosexual acts are, according to the Bible, sin (yes, even if the couple is married. Remember Adam and Eve?). Perhaps we should worry more about loving and providing homes for our parent-less children rather than shielding our children from loving parents.
