Were we watching the same video? I seem to recall him pausing his speech (which a real elitist would never do) to get some help/medical attention to someone who had just fainted, but managed to keep the mood light so people wouldn't crowd around the fainter/freak out. Even if he didn't have a microphone and a huge audience, it seems like a fairly normal reaction.

Actually, I believe the animosity towards Bush was more about the 4200 dead US soldiers in a war we should not have fought (Iraq).
Before the financial crisis Obama ran on the platform that he voted against the Iraq war and voiced opposition to the Iraq war early on.
People made jokes about Bushs speech; people opposed Bush because of the dead US soldiers.
