The "fan" is called bow thruster and can move the ship to port and starboard (left and right) helping it to "park" on the pier or leave the pier. It is not used when the ship is sailing - then only the rudder at the back of the vessels turns the ship left or right.

One of her sister ships is burned UND ADRIYATIK. Most of their cargo are trucks or just trailers...
