  • I'm interested about English-language countries ;)

  • UK= Great Britain + North Ireland,

Great Britain = England + Wales + Scotland,

    therefore,

UK = England + Wales + Scotland + North Ireland.

  • @NapoleonCalland

Britain = scotland, wales, england, AND n. ireland= united kingdom

Great Britain = eng, scotland, and wales . it is a big island

i'm american and learned this stuff in the second grade

  • i'm american and was interested :)

  • i'm american and was interested :)

  • She sounds like she is from the home counties in England. She probably was just born in Scotland.

  • shes not scottish ._.

  • what is the objective of these videos, what is it i'm to attain from these videos?

  • so stupid... just so stupid

  • This was very educational and helpful! :)

  • Understood that along time ago.... coz iam not ignorant. That is why you find it annoying when people say "british accent". coz there is no such thing.

  • This is very strange , a Chinese woman teaching an English boy about his own Land. I dont like this vieo.

  • Great Britian is the peninsula itself. I think.

  • The U.K in a nutshell:

Four peoples ONE NATION, (English, Welsh, Scottish, N.Irish- THE U.K. and yet also four nations ONE PEOPLE

    (England, Wales, Scotland, N.Ireland)-THE BRITISH.

  • british english is better!

  • What they are saying is England, Scotland and Wales are three countries physically joined by land mass to make Great Britain, when we include Northern ireland we call it the UK. (united kingdom)

  • The isle of Man or the Channel isles are no part of Great Britain. Or even places like Gibraltar or the Falklands. Great Britain is England, Scotland and Wales and the UK is Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I'm not from the UK, but I know the difference.

  • Franco:

Britain and Ireland are the geographic islands.

England, wales, scotland and NORTHEN Ireland are 4 countries that make the UK. God knows where people have this idea that scotland and wales are in england

  • I just can't understand this mess!

So uk is not the same than England?

Scotland is part of England but not really part of it? Wales is part of England but it is an independent nation?

Northen Ireland is part of England but it is also an independent country?

I'm confused! It seems to me that you don't follow the famous prhase

'' TO BE OR NOT TO BE ""

  • Scotland and Wales are NOT part of England. The three are seperate. However, they all make up the island which is called Britain.

The UK is the collective name for Britain and Northern Ireland.

    Basically;

    Britain = England, Scotland, Wales

UK = England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Nothing is part of England. England is it's own thing :)

I hope this hasn't confused you more!

  • Put simply:

Great Britain is made up of England, Wales and Scotland.

The UK contains England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

UK = United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

  • The whole country is United Kingdom (UK).

The Biggest Island is Great Britain.

Scotland, Wales and England are regions inside the big Island called Great Britain.

Northern Ireland are in the smallest island called Ireland but it is part of UK along with the rest of the regions In Great Britain. So a Scotish isn't an Englishman...

  • Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Island are in the UK and are all there own countries. Scotland has it's own parliment but is still controlled by the queen of England like Wales ect.

  • England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland make up the United Kingdom.

Great Britain is an island on which is England, Scotland and Wales.

  • @franco121760

You shouldn't say Wales/Scotland/Northern Ireland is part of England because Wales for example is just as much of a nation as England. These four countries merely work together. England has no dominance over the others. It's just that people annoyingly reefer to Britain as England. Really annoying :(

  • @franco121760

Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and England are 4 countries that make up the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

  • your retarded

is california not just a part of new york

that is the equivilant of your stupidity

isnt peru just part of mexico

    ur an imbacile

  • Wales is not part of England, if you ever said that to a Welshman he would kill you.

  • @DanWelshy86

A north welshman maybe, a southerner would just scowl and ignore you for a while.

Damn north welsh, reminding us south welsh that we're anglicanised celts =p

  • @franco121760

    I agree it is confusing. Look at it this way;

The whole state is the United Kingdom (62 million people)

The UK consists of 4 'Home Nations'-

England (on the island of Great Britain)

Scotland (on the island of Great Britain)

Wales (on the island of Great Britain)

and Northern Ireland (on the island of Ireland)

    All 4 are WITHIN the UK, but only 3 are on the island of Great Britain. We have a national government and capital (London) but there is also devolution which means;

  • @franco121760

cont.... that there are parliaments in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast (the capitals of the home nations outside England)- they can decide many policies except foreign policy. Anyone from the 4 home nations can call themselves British but not everyone can say they are English. England is the largest and most populous home nation but there are 10 million Britons who are NOT English. It is complex.

  • The United Kingdom Is made up of 4 countries - England, Wales, Scotland and Nothern Ireland.

Great Britain = England, Wales and Scotland (Not Northern Ireland because it is not on the same Island as us).

The UK is not a country is it a state.

Great Britian is not a country it is an island.

England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales are the countries.

  • She doesn't sound Scottish.

  • Whereabouts in Scotland is she from? I have yet to meet a Scottish person with that accent.

  • Ok, let me see if I've got this...

The Isle of Great Britain is just that, an island (which consists of the three nations mentioned). While the United Kingdom is the name of the country/government which unites the individual states of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Similiar to the separate states in the U.S. in that each state has its own government and laws?
