  • i came across this movie on tv one tonite and i thought it was really good. its actually pretty funny too. people should quit with stereotypes because every individual is different. plus it also reminds me of of many children of immigrants go through as well, with us all americanized. though i am the son of immigrants from india, i find alot of similarites with black american culture as well, including many of the same issues such as preserving cultures, issues of skin tone, etc.

  • The amount of smoking in dis movie is ridiculous. Its like they promoting ppl 2 smoke

  • kool movie

  • he reminds me of rondo lol!

  • A movie about generalizing? Yay!!!

  • Buffalo butt? Really?!?!

  • Wow I just watched this movie earlier today on TVone and it was one of the best films Ive seen in quite a long time..! Admittedly I only decided to watch because of the title lol. however this film really blew me away and is easily one of my all time favorites now. the personality and mindset of the main character reminds me a lot of myself (the whole quirkiness and fear of commitment thing) lol...just havent found that one worth committing to yet but hopefully one day Ill find that match

  • What song is that playing in the trailer?

  • @Neggero86 at the very beginning is paper cuts by gym class heroes

  • he reminds me of donald glover (a.k.a. childish gambino)

  • One of the finest film I've have ever had the pleasure of viewing. Poorly marketed and packaged, something I assume the powers that be decided to take on the coat tails of The Wayans and Tyler Perry, who true cinematic connoisseurs of colors pay no mind to except for a couple of laughs.

It represents all commitment minded folk, not just Black, and is well thought, well written, well acted & one of the finest films I've seen in years. Deserves much more praise and watch than it has gotten.

  • This flick had nothing to do with white girls and everything to do with a self-absorbed cornball who has no love to share and is running from mature intimacy.

  • HEY EVERYONE AT 1:30 YOU WILL SEE LAURELS SO THAT MEANS WE ALL BETTER RUN OUT AND SEE THIS FILM

  • I bet a Black woman directed this

  • @tlldrknhnsm Yup, Jennifer Sharp...

  • What if he would've found love in an Asian woman or a Latina? I guess that would be in the alternate ending of the film, when it goes to DVD.

  • Ok this movie in a nutshell is about a black guy who says dude all day, dated nothing, but white girls and somehow oddly there thin...when in real life we know the true size..lol, then he decides to give black women a chance, but somehow she is biracial with rainbow hair meaning he is not done with white girls he is allowing a little black dna in his circle leaving the black women at the end OUT. In one small review I got to see thee whole movie. Saving my money...

  • @BrownAugust1987 LMAO. I say dude and I'm black. I do like white and black girls.

  • @BrownAugust1987 lol u ain't lyin.to be honest i'm not even interested in seeing this sh** for free

  • "boy,your momma don't count"

  • HAHAHA my favorite Movie, this is hilarious!!! but papercuts isn't in the movie...(my favorite song)

  • movie of..my...fuckin...life..

  • @Zgamer7 so ur a f*ggot

  • @FilthyProper yea i posted a dat comment a month ago,ur so damn late..dont worry u gone b alright

  • LOVE this movie.

  • this looks like a really weird movie...

  • Why is everyone say shit that he ended up with a black chick, when the girl was black and white. Not just white and not just a sista. But, she was both. So, why talk shit about that, when in the end he ended up with someone who was of both races. Jesus. So what if a black man dates a white woman or a white man dates a black woman. We were all one race in the beginning and will probably be one race in the end.

  • @GenderExpression84 Haha I agree. Our Great Great Great grandchildren will all be one race again damn near.

  • @GenderExpression84 Yup, the point of the movie was he thought only white women would work, then he thought only black women would work, then he thought a happy medium... then he found out he was screwed up and its not them... YAY!!!! lol

  • hell yeah - somebody finally made a movie about me. . . . yeah I know lol

  • You film makers did a great job this looks great! Gotta see it.

  • Do not flatter yourself Miss 6 o'clock. Yes indeed straight up and straight down like a picnic table. Noone really wants a cave bitch on their lap. For those brothas that do fuck corny cave bitches it is just realy a deep subconscious anger towards the pecker and they want to destroy their family nuclear structure Please believe it because I won't lie. So don't flatter yourself lol. Corny cave bitch

  • @hermanglimsher, uhh yeah, that must be the reason why those ragetty white chicks are riding they nuts right?

They can have the ones they're chasing and having babies with, b/c I dont even want them. LOLZ

  • i saw this movie the other day. at first i was like wtf is this...but i actually got into it. i like it.

  • Yo, this guy was such an asshole. WHAT A DICK! I felt so sorry for that girl with the dreads. He found somebody that was black [and not white]. Had a down-to- earth-white girl mentality and was STILL acting ungrateful. He might as well have went out w/ a man if that's the case. A white man that is. hah hah ha ha hahhh

  • what was good about this flick is you never know what may come out of any relationship and if your lucky you my have friends that see the promise that there may be a chance worth taken. Also you can never judge a relationship by how many times you have sex with somebody.

  • Eh I didn't finish watching it, but it was a pretty typical formula:

Pussified fellow (don't kid yourself the guy was a complete whiny cakeass) can't commit to a relationship so he goes searching for something different. But hey, as cheezy as most of the conversations were between the wanna be white guy and the valley black girl, the acting wasn't all that bad, so e for effort I suppose. And it's not the actors that sucked, it was just the idea and movie.

  • What is that rock/alternative/indie song that goes go ahead tell me, go ahead leave me, go ahead I'm busted, I'm leaving. It's on the video Degrassi: Every high school has secrets!

    PLEASE TELL ME!

  • This movie was named after the song of the same title by the Dirtbombs. Look it up.

  • What is the song at 1:42 ?

  • control - mute math

  • This movie is just great! It's great to see non typical black movies that reflect black women in different personalities. I can so relate to Catherine's character.

  • can someone please tell me what the song at 1:42 is i love that song id kill to find out what the title is so if you know please reply thank you

  • the song is control by mute math

  • good movie.

  • what is that one song on this movie i know it says she can be my bout but i don't know the real name for it msg me and tell me thanks

  • i just saw this movie an i liked it pretty cool

  • surprisingly GREAT movie!

  • wow. we really got to see only - like - a zillionth of anthony's range or charisma on Star Trek Enterprise, huh??

  • operation brown sugar hahaha sounds a little like my utube name

  • This is actually a MOVIE?? This could never happen here!

  • Happens all the time, because if a relationship is not based on true love it can never survive. If a white girl can not relate to what a black man goes thru on a daily bases there is going to be a problem. White people have problems empathizing with other groups. I saw this movie, it was alright.

  • It's never good to generalise, but i see your perspective as a black person - you see how bad a statement like that is? Saying that all white people are the same is just like saying all black people are all the same...

This day generalisation becomes more and more missleading, stereotypes are known and people can play them for the laugh or just to get rid of ppl you deem annoying.

Yes there is generally a cultural difference between the populus in different regions but dont generalise like that

  • Should have said "most" white people, not all just most.

  • LOL.... this movie looks funny as heck. Interesting concept.

Minus the geekness- dude somehow reminds me of someone.

  • interesting that his main love interest when supposedly trying get a black woman is BI-RACIAL.

If the plot has him trying to get back with BW, why is a bi-racial woman the main love interest?

  • It's called operation Brown Sugar. so that could be anyone with some color to them. And since the title's 'i'm through with white girls' not 'i'm gonna get a black girl' i don't see why it matters at all. it's a cute and pretty cool movie.

  • Im guessing you are a white guy who typically don't understand issues facing black people.

My explanation to you on why the chick should have been representative of your average day bw probably would go right over your head.

  • Nope I'm just an average black woman who doesn't need to depend on the media to represent me. And plus i'm always happy to see black people telling THEIR stories and getting involved behind the scenes when it comes to entertainment. Which is another reason why I love this movie.

  • I will be uploading a video tomorrow on my channel that deals with the image of young black girls in the media.

You may want to look at it and the black women that are interviewed. You may not be affected by it, but other black women are.

  • but isn't the whole point that he's too dorky for your average black girl?

  • dude reminds me of KID CUDI straight up, no chase sir, lol.

  • exactly who I thought of also haha

  • yeah thats what i thinking too ,man

  • Love this movie!

  • What song is it that starts 1.42 into this trailer?

  • this movie is actually aiight

  • Just got through watching this movie, didn't catch the beginning, but now I'm off to find the dvd.

  • Why did they make the black man so "Geeky"?

Not even white women want a geeky white man.

  • I disagree...

  • To which part do you disagree?

  • The part about women not wanting a geeky man. That maybe the case for some women but I think a bad character is worse than a guy being geeky.

  • A woman may SETTLE for a geeky guy, but that is not what she really wants. A geek doesn't have self-confidence. Tell me what woman wants that?

  • There is some truth to that but I was thinking more along looks, like Bill Gates. My guess is his confidence is well in tack but then again I don't know him personally to confirm that. As far as the Jay Brooks character, I think his look was cute. I like the black framed glasses and artist style of his look. However, none of that means anything if his character is garbage. :o)

  • You say "you" like the geek look, but the perception of America is black women are not interested in a man like Jay Brooks character until they are passed their best.

Also Bill Gate may have confidence now, but when he was coming up. No females where looking his way. Otherwise he may not of created Microsoft.

  • Just because you are a "Geek" doesn't mean you lack confidence. I'm a geek and I love myself and people love me. I always say, every black man isn't a thug. Having your pants half off your ass is not the way to go, if you are in jail maybe, but if you are, then don't do it.

Plus "geek" is out of style, I perfer Neo Soul.

  • A Geek is:

A person regarded as foolish, inept, or clumsy.

A person who is single-minded or accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits but is felt to be socially inept.

If you have confidence then you are not a Geek.

Women don't want that. What is Neo Soul? Sounds like something from the 70's

  • Neo-soul isa genre of music like singers like Musiq Soulchild, Alicia Keys, Angie Stone, Jill Scott, John Legend, but it has it own style like jazz in sense most of the singers who perform neo-soul are black and go with the stereotypical black look. They look geeky, but are not.

  • Black Latino, Indie rock, Graphic Novels, White girls...Check!!!...

Great, Finally someone made a movie people like us!!!...lol.

  • funny ass movie

  • i love this money!

  • Please don't let the trailer fool you..........THIS IS A GREAT MOVIE!!!!!!!!

  • who sings that song, "She can be my star?" (i think thats the name) I love it!

  • Paul Casey - tha bomb Irish singer

  • What song is it that starts at 1.42?

  • love, love, love this movie!

  • I'm watching it againg and Jay is about to start dancing, I was laughing so hard the 1st time I saw it!

  • That scene was hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing at the look on his face when he did that.

  • I love how they played the "Safety" song.

  • I recorded this on my DVR and watched it last week. I thought it was gonna be another low budget stereotypical 'hood movies that aren't funny but I had to make sure. Some people might be turned off by the title but it did pretty much let you know what you were in for. This is a great movie!

  • Saw the move on Sho2. Lovin' it. Sooo charming. :)

  • Loved this movie.

  • Artist: Mute Math

    Song: Control

  • yay! his love interest is quirky! i love her weird dreads. gives me hope that someone will find something sexy about my weird ass. :D

  • this is a cool movie-I just saw it!

  • what is the song that plays at 0:59 ?

  • its by mute math cant remember the name tho

  • I thought it was a great movie!! A pleasant surprise! I thought it was gonna be a lame B movie, but it was really good! =)

  • I second that...I just watched it on Netflix.

  • =D But dude, do you know the song that they played in the credits of the actual movie? I've been looking everywhere!

It was something like, "She can be my oxygen.."

  • I am going to go back in dig in the credits for that one...that was a nice cut.

  • sweeeet man! If you find out, could you tell me? That would be really sick. I like that song a lot =)

  • Not the right track.

  • i think I actually wanna see this. Non-Stereotypical Black Guy trying to deal with a SISTAH (that right there is funny in itself)

  • Drop by and see our interview with the stellar cast & crew!

  • What song is it that starts at 1.42?

  • BOOKMAN

or your mama don`t count lol

  • What song is it that starts at 1.47?

  • I just saw the film..rented it from blockbuster but I wasnt really that impressed by it. The direction and cinematography was good. showed that they had major cash to do it..I totally got the meaning of it but I just thought it dragged and by the end I knew what was gonna happen and didnt care. But It won major awards at film festivals..To me, festivals like ABFF are for Black indy filmmakers with money. It's a wanna-be Tribeca Film Fest.

  • Does anyone know what the song is called starting at 0:37?

  • Artist: Buccweet818 see myspace

Song: What You Like 2 Do

  • Thanks man :D

  • What's with all of the nasty ass smoking? The tobacco industry must have paid for half of this movie.

  • I've got to see this movie.

  • They should have got the girl as an Albino.

  • BTW this movie is not about race, the title has nothing to do with race, if you actually watch the movie and are not a retard you will realize the title of the movie is Jay's actual way of thinking and reasoning out why he can't stay in a relationship.

  • Then why make the title about race? Why "white" girls? Why not just "girls"?

  • make your own movie.

  • Did you even read what Drolkin said ?

  • Yes. And again, if the title isn't about race why is it "white" girls and not just "girls".

  • The guy is thru with race. Thru with "black" and "white". That is why. He's not thru with "girls". He's thru with the cultural stereotyping of race... it's the deeper meaning to the title that you get when you see the film.

7 International Audience Awards for the film... Indie Film Festival-goers liked it.

  • Racist comments are all over, how picky you are to count them is another matter.

I do realise that if it had been the other way around it would have gotten alot of attention.

I have NOT seen the movie so i cannot comment on the actual content, thus i dont make a big deal out of it - but (imo) it does LOOK like racial slur. To take it as that is however not very bright as every single human being in a major city or a degenerate community will meet higher degrees of it in their every day life.

  • This movie was amazing, watch it if you like good movies! :)

  • B A D movie. Can't see the comedy in it.. Just another lame movie like Nightrider and StarShip Troopers 3...

  • Agreed Kwinnky. Sounds like you saw the film.

  • The problem is that if the movie isn't about race, why make the title about race?

  • It's about being through with race. Thru with the idea of what is white or black. Nobody came from the country of black or the country of white.

  • First white and black aren't races per se. They are just layman's synonyms for the Caucasoid and Negroid races. And races are not about countries. They are about genetics. Please educate yourself some.

  • The first sentence of your post was correct. The rest was bullshit. There is no biological basis for races. Blood type is much more biologically significant than "races," which are social constructs.

  • Do you always regurgitate what you hear from liberals? Try to really educate yourself on biology before following the fantasy of "race is a social construct".

You might just have to ignore your emotions and on top of biology delve into such things as ratios and correlations and understand how non-randomization shows causality.

You might actually have to learn about the evolution of humans. You might have to actually think critically other then being mesmerized by egalitarian dogma.

  • I'm sorry asshole, but when you used the word liberal as a pejorative my eyes rolled back in my head.

If you knew anything, at all, about biology, you'd know that there is no set of traits which define all self-identified members of any "race" and exclude all others. Moreover, so called racial differentiation was fairly recent. Evolution doesn't come into the picture. All humans are H. s. sapiens. And, as I said before, blood type is more far more biologically significant than skin color.

  • traits = genetics

    genetics = evolution

every physical thing about you at birth is a window into your genetic code, so evolution does come into the picture.. dumbass!

what is so funny.. everything you say is a straight regurgitation of liberal egalitarian dogma... you don't think for yourself.. you are like a mindless drone who is fed what he is to say about "race"

  • All humans are of the exact same species, H. s. sapiens. Therefore, evolution doesn't enter into a discussion of the purely social construct of race. Perhaps you're too obtuse to have understood this when I said it before. So I'll be more explicit. My body will accept type O negative blood from someone of another race without any problem. Another blood type donated by someone of my "race" would likely kill me. End of story. You know nothing about biology, you lousy Nazi.

  • Preach, Hoop! Tell them.. ! They don't know!

  • looks interesting

  • can ya just see the movie?

  • hmmm a racist film once again

  • Dude, this is nothing compared the countless stereotypes Hollywood portrays of black people everyday.

Learn to see things from the other side, gather a more objective point of view and maybe you won't generalize (or judge!) so much.

  • Goodness gracious, can ya just see the movie?

  • erm i have ya muppet... its once again another movie that puts white ppl to shame.. its strange coz its black ppl that mone the most about racism..

  • You're obviously assuming quite a lot, in error, based on the title. It doesn't denigrate white people in the slightest.

  • well fuck you too bitch

  • tyler perry should do a version of this

it would b way better lol

  • bring it to boston!

  • is this at blockbuster????????????

  • yep it is on netflix too.

  • so he ends up with an Oreo

    *does the moonwalk*

  • Looks good but Im knew he would end up with a siter and i knew it would be a very light skin one... i luv hollywood.

  • pity they smoke

  • I've seen this movie...it's really fantastic. Go see it if you can!

  • This appears to be very cool. I want to see it!

  • Going to see this tonight. Trailer looks good, original idea and novel concept about finding the individual through the black'n white coloring.

  • This sounds great. LOL!

  • Saw this movie at the festival in LA. It was great!

  • I'm all about seeing this!

  • It does. I like it better than the first one, which I loved as well. I think the acclaim this film has gotten has given the editors of this trailer mor to work with as to coming up with ideas. BTW, anyone see that groom in the new Tyler Perry Film??!? This movie has STARS in it!

  • This trailer ROCKS!!! RRrrrrOOOcks, I tell you!
