  • Awesome video!! Very informative. Thanks for posting :)

  • Is he still alive? It's been 3 years since you posted the video and he was 19 back then.

  • that bring tears to my eyes thank you for sharering this amazeing stories -3

  • i liked this video m8 its good you have looked after him all this time "grown up with you"

I have a young iguana myself and a lovely big enclosure proper tempretures and that. i have really researched them alot i hope anyone keeping an iguana really thinks about the effort needed to keep them happy. ps your right about the igs not liking dogs. lol

  • Cool vid my friend and BTW is the eazy-e on it shirt lol

  • Iguanas can be around dogs if the dogs are extremely well trained. My black lab is around my iguana all the time. She is so well trained that if you say "Look Away" she does and won't look back until you tell her too. And if you say "Chocolate" she drops to the ground immediately and won't move a muscle or eat anything until you say she can. You can put a steak infront of her, tell her not to touch it and she will never touch it, even if you leave the house.

  • hey great video I found with all my iguanas, that if I use commercial diet along with staple green and fruit diet they grow fast and they thrive a long time. I have 2 5fers.

  • finaly someone i can trust unlike expert village also would you recomened this as a beginer reptile

  • @beyondorginal OH HECK NO. If anything, this is an expert reptile. You're going to need

    - Proper temperatures

    - Proper humidity (high)

    - UVB light

    - Proper, PROPER diet

Last but not least, vet bills. It's all a very demanding and expensive process.

  • Hey great vid... good info, i had an iguana and im lookin to get another one and so i just wanted to freshen up, just be careful though with the table like heat rock. They cant feel heat on their bellies so it might burn him...

  • Hey,Dude How Do i make my iguana more tame? when i want to put my other hand and stroke him, he whips me or runs away.Besides That,How Do I Hand Feed him, when i handled him,he didnt whip me at all then i stroke him and put him on my hands.after an hour i want to handle him again he whips me . Help Me Please! Thanks

  • @CalvinTeeKai

right first of all make sure you have a good size encloser

then when you go in the cage blink slow and let the ig see you do it

move your finger up slowly to stroke under the chin

    dont rush things

if you achieve that stroke for about thirty seconds then walk away

watch for pupil dilation if small their on the fence if big they dont feel threat

then repeat untill trust is gained

  • @stew7087 Thanks bro =D

  • Hey,How Do You Hand Feed Your Iguanas? My Iguanas Wont eat the food i give him =(

  • they are supposed to live for 50 years

  • @STRAYDOG7100 nooooo your thinking of snakes look it up

  • @STRAYDOG7100 Actually no. Their lifespan goes from 10-16 years. I find it pretty amazing that this creature has been around for nearly 20 years. This just shows with the proper care, it will live long.

  • wow ive learned a lot from your video great job...im just gonna buy an iguana and this video helps me a lot can you make a video about iguana terrarium?

  • i have a question if you lived in tropical place do the iguana still need uv light?

  • now this is a good video, unlike that expert village video!

  • i love mine like a family member

  • u r the best iguana owner iv ever seen i been taking care of iguanas for 13 years now i had 1 for 5 years but it gotkidney failer n died i now have had 1 for 3 1/2 yrs now hes 3 1/2 and now i got another baby hes almost th months

  • loving your shirt as well mat!!

  • hey matt! I love your iguana goofy! and you have a great personality for the camera as well. I love your videos about goofy please update us! you're aweome lol. just wanted to let you know.

  • @TheXboxMafiaCrew not baby baby ones. they are hyper lol. i own one myself. but hes 7 months now.

  • u talk funny

  • my iguanna is maybe 7m old and her toes are curling in she is in an 100g tank?

  • Do you take him to a herp vet for checkups?

  • Cool

  • First of all.. I FUCKING LOVE YOUR ACCENT!

Secondly, my iguana's right foot has turned black.. I'm panicking and have no idea what I'm doing wrong.. any advice?

  • Wow. Thank you for this video. I have a lot of wild iguanas that hang out around my yard and I caught a hatchling last week. I have him in an aquarium right now but plan to move him to a cage very soon. I hope Optimus Prime (the kids named it) does as well as Goofy. Take care.

  • Have ever got bit

  • dude that is awesome. im 14 and i want one of these things SO bad.. but my dad hates animals and he wont let me get one.

  • stop feeding your iguana kale it combines the calcium anf they they cant absorb it and for 20 he should be bigger, mines three and hes thst size.

  • I meant, you AND your iguana are amazing!

  • You are your iguana are amazing! This video is amazing! AAAHH!!

  • my iguana is scared of me he dosent do anything when im around he dosent eat he doesnt move can u help me???

  • I never knew that Iguanas like Dandy Lions.... Ill try to get Larry to eat some, lol

  • I have raised them all my life I think I know what I am doing also, if he is using lettuce as a staple diet then has gotten lucky, if no UVB is getting used he is real lucky. I have witnessed first hand what happens with poorly maintained iguanas and it isn't pretty.

  • For a correct care sheet on Iguanas search Tom Crutchfield. He is a breeder here in Fl and well versed in iguana care.

  • UVB is not a recommendation, it is needed for them in the digestion of their foods. Whatever information you have about UVB being bad is poor information in deed.

  • @james2go33 the thing has lived for 20 years i think this guy knows what hes doing

  • they need UVB

  • Lettuce not a great choice for Iguanas, no nutritional values. Greens, like Mustard greens, Collards, Turnip Greens, and Dandelion Greens are ideal. Meat proteins are no. no, but have been administered to sickly iguanas for a boost in protein, but not a good idea keep it on a regular diet. There are actually various other ways to boost protein to undernourished iguanas

  • Iguanas can live up to 25 years

  • haha im buying a RED iguana in a few weeks yours looks great i love how the flower just sits on his head thats funny haha he looks very happy with you

  • i heard that it wuz ok to feed them crickets is that true?

  • no it's not ...if you need help with their diets whatch mr binty1440 video on feeding iguanas.

  • Where in Mass are you from? im in worcester county

  • Is he still alive today

  • Great video. If I ever get a bigger house I'll be getting an Iguana as well. Unfortunately there's just not enough room in the current place.

  • No offense dude. But you basically just say the same things over and over.... you could have made this video half as long and said everything once and still made your point. Lame video

  • Haha nigga has an eazy e shirt haha nice iguana I got a baby one but there to delicate dam ! You need a bunch of shit just to take care of them

  • No offense but I am actually surprised your iguana has lived so long. Your iguana looks like he actually has metabollic bone disease. Iguanas should not eat lettuce as they have little to no nutritional value. You did not mention any of the staple green leafs. High protein diets actually cause kidney failure and not calcification. You did not mention the importance of a UVB light and the role it plays in metabolism of calcium which is extremely important for iguanas.

  • @Troublant they mentioned dandelions and kale which are often considered to be in their main food groups, he has a lot of space and is fed regularly get excercise and they have a heat lamp in most cases though a uvb lamp is recommended they do fine with heat lamps in general. and it can cause calcification as well, I read up on that not to mention my friend's actually died of that, the pet store told them false information and yeah.

  • BTW, I love his nature!! He seems like a great part of your family!

  • Its so cool how you say "dandeeliyonz"! You're so gonna sound like Moe Syzlak when you're older.

  • Now I have a question along the lines of him going to the bathroom, is it a hassle cleaning it up, or can you train them to like let you know or something like a dog?

  • Hes lives for 19 years, ok!!

  • and looks to have a mouth infection

  • they only live about 15 years in the wild in captivity they live about 25 years

  • hey man im about to get a iguana and i was wondering if could give me a few things on how to make sure the are perfect house keepet?

  • how can you tame an iguana

  • i want an iggy can u do a terrarium set up tutorial i havnt seen many online. and how much did everything all together for him cost? and for food every month

  • when he walks around your house is it like 80F or just room temp?

  • Thank you for this. Great video! I just love his face he looks so happy and relaxed!!

  • Thank you for making this video. Most iguanas die in captivity because people to not take care of them properly. Sobe (my iguana) was found on the streets of Brooklyn. I've had him for 11 years, so far, and he's very healthy. I have uvb lights, ceramic, heaters, and a humidifier in his 8'x8'x4' wood frame plexiglass enclosure (which is always open so he can free-roam, except at night). He eats dandelion greens, collard greens, beet greens, bok choy, squash, and fruits. He loves my cats!

  • what state are you from? im just wondering because it looks like your from a warm place. do you set up UVB lights for his cage? or does he get all he needs from the sun?

  • @hailwindham

im from MA its a cold state, he has uv lights in his cage as well as standard incandescent bulbs that give off heat

  • @mattgeb84 hey im from ma too! walpole you?

  • @mattgeb84 is he still alive?

  • quick question my iguana is real shy and wont eat around me is there a way to help him not to be so shy?

  • coolest iguana video I've seen so far. I hope my iguana will live that long. Doesn't it get too cold outside for your iguana? Are you in florida or some place like that?

  • hey good video. i have a question. has your iguana ever tail whipped you or any one else?

  • hey if some one can message me i got a couple questions on iguanas i just bough baby and she is probably one of the most vicouis animals i ever owned will she grow out of it or what i go to pick her up she tries to bite me nd whip me with her tail even wen i change her food she kind of like charges me is this normal ? some one help plz lmao

  • I've had a bearded dragon lived for 10 years do you think I could get an iguana or tell me a different anima want one a little bigger

  • I've had a bearded dragon lived for 10 years do you think I could get an iguana or tell me a different anima want one a little bigger

  • can a person have a conection with an iguana?

  • Yea i dont know alot about lizards but he does look pretty healthy in the vid. Cuz i had this fire bellied toad and a month b4 he died he went a little bit browner every week

  • Cool video

  • Are they ever affectionate toward people like a cat or dog ??

  • hey i have a 3 or 4 month old iguana and she has black spots by her nose do u no somthing bout that

  • liking the easy e top! ;)

  • I guess that sometimes it just depends on the iguana because when I first got my iguana, I would hand feed him and he started trying to bite me every time my hand got near his face. After I stopped hand feeding him, he didn't do it anymore.

  • is your iguana still alive? cause this video was added 2 years ago?

  • how big should the room be

  • that iguana is really happy. You know how to take care of them!

  • He still kicking? Cool iguanna!!

  • I thought iguanas were herbivores. You said you used to feed yours crickets. So iguanas are also insectivores?

  • Hey i just got an iguana today and I was wondering if it's okay to let her out of the cage I'm just afraid she might run too fast or something?

  • I just got this Iguana today, It is still young, Probably about another couple months before it gets big I think. I don't know that much about them, all I know is that I have the time to be a better owner than he had before. His/Her tail was obviously chopped off at some point in its life, because it is short and doesn't thin out. It seems healthy, just that I'm not an expert yet. I would like some personal advice on keeping it healthy/happy if anyone wants to help. please message me. Thanks

  • Nice, I had an Iguana that lived for till around 13 years old. It died of cancer about a week after i was deployed to mainland Japan.

  • u seem rlly cool

  • U guys must have bonded alot i can see because on some of the other vids when u petted him he closed his eyes, he relises u are no harm to him i mean its hard to get that high of trust especially from an iguanna.

  • that iguana gave you this stare after like 2 minutes like, " What's this flower doing on my head? When did that get here?"

  • Great video!! I love it when people are responsible pet caretakers like you :)
