And yes, some are alike but Ucranian and French or Spanish haven't got anything in common, and with the Swedish, Norwish or German either. In europe there are groups, the russian one, where they share dances and everything,(Ucraina, Russia, Serbia Romania::) the German (Germany, Austria, Switzerland...), the Scandinavian one, the greek. You misunderstood. I don't say Ukrainian is the same culture as portuguese, of course. I only say there is a connection between Portuguese and Ukrainian culture because they are EUROPEAN CULTURES.
For example, you can compare the flower crowns of the Ukrainian girls in this video with the ones of the Galician girls in this another one (watch?v=AHazWaomWMo). Have you seen the connection?
As far as I know ukraine folk songs are Hopak, The seducer, the rogues, on the wide danube, the reapers, the sunset, spring song, the herdsman, today is the festival of ST peter, for a garland, the mountain ash, Mama the dawn, hutsulka.etc
