I can't stand Micahel Ball for some reason...I've heard him on the OLC of Les Misérables as Marius and then on the complete symphonic recording of les misérables again as Marius (and he's good on the CSR) but he seems irretating for some reason I also heard him in the OLC of Aspect's of Love...

It's interesting though that he always seems to play love-obssed character's who are pretty depressive when they don't get their way (e.g. Marius and Alex)

Peadarisback: Perhaps his voice just isn't your thing, so to speak. But most definitely he doesn't always play infatuated characters who get depressed when they don't get their way. You forgot his performance in Hairspray as Edna Turnblad, which is one among many.

I went to see the Chess Concert last year and i have to say i prefer the old lyrics!!! I dont understand why the had to change it so much!!?? Elaine and Michael are fab too!

Elaine Page is totally awesome in this. I loved this musical back when I was in college in the 80's and was first introduced in ALBUM format. I am sorry they have changed some of the wording...it seemed so much more meaningful back then.. :)

Nothing says lungs like Elaine Paige on this live performance. I do think Tommy K has a slight edge by the age over Ball.

I attended an original London cast performance of Chess in the 80's. Elaine has been my favorite female vocalist ever since. Thanks to Susan Boyle for leading me to YouTube, where I have discovered so many of Elaine's performances!
