Many years ago in Buenos Aires DF, the people who lives near the Port of "Rio(river) de la plata",like LA BOCA neighborhood,and others,was called PORTEÑO from PUERTO=PORT .The people who lives in others states, occasional use this name in a despective to identify PORTEÑOS for the accents, the diferents modism,and the ways to live.....Likes the people who lives in the north and the south of USA.

porteno/ portena is how the people born central Buenos Aires refer to them selves, they say for example 'soy porteno/. This means practically Born and raised in downtown Buenos Aires and speaking the special spanish of BA with the very typical accent -porteno.

In BA is also spoken another dialect the 'lufardo'.

By the way, the female voice accent in the song is not typical porteno is more standard argentine .
