  • Love it!

  • I still laugh as hard at this as I did when I was 4.

  • You know, When steve jobs died, everyone called him a genius. When jim henson died, no one called him a genius. who's really more a genius? someone who built a few computers or a guy who took a green coat, 2 ping pong balls, and gave it a voice that the world loved?

  • @DrPhilMusic Amen.

  • @DrPhilMusic OH god, so much this comment, seriously. I always considered him a genius. He was called a genius in an interview with Frank Oz.

  • If your high and obviously tripping how the hell can you write a comment lol

  • omg i'm so high. i don't know what's going on right now

  • The Disco Frog!

  • eric jauu .. haha

  • I wonder if 'The Village People' ever had a version of this?

    (Sorry....couldn't resist!)

  • This song has opened my mind 23 years ago...

  • im pretty freakin sure that dancing frog is the coolest thing ive ever seen.

  • Is that supposed to be a ghost?

  • Comment removed

  • I have never laughed so friggin hard in my entire life! The way the ghost frog dances... Ohhh! I have tears rolling down my cheeks!

  • I think the Muppet Show's version is better.

  • This terrified my brother with recurring nightmares for his entire childhood.

  • 0:47 Now I'm scared THAT will run at me like that when I'm outside!

  • Thumbs up if this used to scare the bejabbers out of you as a kid.

  • That darn Elmo is what destroyed this show!!!! Dangit! I'd LOVE to take that little red thing & stick him under a lawn mower!! It's because of him, Zoe, and that fairy thing...what's her name, but mainly that red thing that this show has lost all of it's meaning and enjoyment!! I'll turn it on every so often when I remember just to see if (HA!) anything is different. It's the same exact settings every day now: fairy school, the laundramat, elmos world and basically the same 4 or 5 characters!

  • @Cuteblondie1972 - there have been insinuations that Kermit, even on sesame street, does still know piggy personally. One sketch, he was talking to a farmyard pig and saying "you remind me of someone, I just can't figure out who". Also, it seems apparent that Kermit lives on sesame street, and simply catches the subway to the muppet theatre for the muppet show, that's what I think.

  • @Muppephile

That's always what I figured, too. The Muppet Theater was somewhere downtown, and at the end of a long day he would drag himself home to Sesame Street.

It's an open question whether he STILL lives there, though.

  • @Marbles471 good question, I hear he has a place in Maine, was a joke on one muppet interview. We can be certain he doesnt live in Paris. I can imagine him being pissy when he gets home to SS after a long day, but then again, he got angry pretty openly on SS.

  • The Sesame Street writers have the best drugs.

  • @needles1987 Now or then? This was made back in 1980 (in case you didn't know).

  • @BuckWilliams17 Then.

  • @needles1987 Possibly. However, I think "now" is more likely since Sesame Street is nowhere near as good as it was back in the 70's and 80's. All the children's channels are making shows with similar teaching styles so nothing is unique anymore. Back then, PBS was unique from Nick which was unique from Disney which was unique from PBS (the circle is complete). At least back in the day, the creators used their God-given imagination. Why don't they do that anymore? Okay, I'm off my soapbox.

  • Never scared me.It's one of my favorites.

  • ribbit ribbit lol

  • Yeah...this scared me when I was little too! :)

  • This thing gave me nightmares as a kid, why did I watch this again?

  • If this is what female frog muppets look like, no wonder Kermit ended up with Piggy. :D

  • Yeah yeah... sexy ghostfrog!

  • where can I download this I Like it

  • holy shit thats creepy :(

  • -cries- I'm scarred for life ;-;

  • acid trip

  • ...This scarred me for life. For years I swore that ghost frog was going to run out of the forest next to my house and get me.

  • @Stahi same here

  • i´m santaCLAWS !

  • Thats shit !

  • Far outttttttttttt. I'm gonna have nightmares tonight... this is a serious flashback!!!

  • I thought kermit was a muppet.

  • @Drumheller1108

The Sesame Street characters ARE Muppets. They always were.

  • my name is mudkip

  • why the disco music is hated? i'm crazy about it, but i seem to be the only one !

  • same here this shit used to scare the fuck outta me,all i needed was smoke coke or weed but my parents were using it instead i guess thats why to this day they still laugh there ass off lookin at this!! LMAO!!

  • Thank you for reposting this video. I posted it a number of years back but this one is far better quality wise.

  • Ahahahaha! His movements are so manic! I love this!

  • this is the most frighting thin i saw as a kid a ghost frog jim henson what the hell man

  • Get down Kermit! Haha.

  • I seem to recall women singing the chorus. Is this a different version?

  • Move over, Travolta.

  • Hahaha... God, this brings back mad memories! Look at his legs dancing! LMAO... wish I was still a kid

  • .. scared ><

  • Who's singing that high-pitched "RIBBIT! RIBBIT!", goddammit? Is THAT the spirit frog dancing in the air singing that fucking shit, goddammit?

  • i had 'sesame street fever' on 8-track when i was little. kermit was in front doing the john travolta pose, and grover, ernie and bert were the bee gees.

  • Get down,Disco Frog!

  • Kermit gets ALL the chicks!

  • EXCELLENT! My first a LP was from sesame street with GRover on the cover with the infamous john travolta white suit and saturday night fever pose! Ahhhhhh, it was great to be a child in the late 70's:)

  • Cute, but I still like the disco version of "Rubber Duckie" more.

  • I remembered the blinking lights on the plants the most on this skit and "ribbit, ribbit."

  • You mean Miss Piggy?

  • That disco frog is just a transparent image of Kermit himself.

  • its been over 2 decade that I've saw this on TV at home.

  • In it's forty year history on television SESAME STREET has often repeated skits from 10 to 20 years before on it's new episodes.

  • Even Sesame Street picked up on the Disco era LMAO

  • When is this from? Like, what year?

  • 1979

  • Officer: "i had no choice he was high on pcp."

  • [boogies down]

  • I remember this well. Thanks for posting this, brings back memories.

  • i so just remembered this and looked it up

  • ::dancing like Grover to this song::

  • @battechno "and I am CUTE too!" LOL

  • LoL. This was really kinda scarey back then.LoL

  • i tought it was a kermit swamp year....snuff

  • I used to be so so sad when I'd watch the disco frog get smaller and smaller and go away.

  • LMAO!

  • When I was a kid, my cousin had a record, "Sesame Disco," which included this song & was the sequel to "Sesame Street Fever," of which I owned a copy. Too bad neither album has been reissued on CD, but they may yet be if there's enough demand for them.

  • I remember how freaked out I was when I first saw this. After the ghost frog dove through the bush at the end I thought he was coming to my house. And then...I got a knock on my door...AND IT WAS HIM! That was 25 years ago, and he's STILL here dancing the night away! Anyone want him?

  • anarchy, he can come chill with me

  • @anarchyxtv it freaked the hell outta me 2

  • same...

  • this used to scare the shit out of me when i was a kid

  • I just found my old Sesame Street disco records at my parents. I listened to them and the best one is still "Me Lost Me Cookie At The Disco".

The '70's were a strange era!

  • Ribbit, Ribbit!

  • I used to get so scared when this came on.......it took me a year to find it!

  • Me too! I've been looking for this for years!

  • Kermit sang this song on the muppet show too

  • Kermit can get froggy with it!

  • Kids who watch Sesame Street, here is a valuable message for you, along with this video: DON'T DO DRUGS

  • High Camp! Glorious! Love ya for posting! There were two sesame street disco albums. Do You have any more.

  • this is yummy.

  • EPIC

  • i totally hit the wrong thumb!!! i meant the up thumb! i agree with you, this was epic!

  • This was okay, but it wasn't as good as the Muppet Show version.

  • the animation technique is similar to what Disney used for the banshee in Darby O'Gill and the

    Little People

  • Kermit!!! Jumpstyle!!!

  • Even though I hate disco I love this.

  • No the day disco was revived. O:

  • OMG!! That used to scare me as a kid too. *Phew* I thought I was crazy. I love/miss Jim Henson. I wish I could get ALL of his shows, movies, and skits.

  • go kermit go!...:D

  • OMG...what a trip down memory lane, i grew up with this song!

  • My speakers rumble with HQ mode cool

  • Was that Disco Frog supposed to be a ghost?

  • The ghost scared me when I was young.

  • ya that creeped me out but i was fascinated by it

  • I watched that when I was young and it scared me. Until today, it does scared me because I do not want to remember the Kermit ghost because it will go into my head for the rest of my life.

  • I like the part (2:45) where disco frog goes running away and jumps into the bushes to go find me where I live. O_O *pulls covers slowly over head.

  • lmao

  • Icetraigh:

I know, right? It was spooky, but you couldn't look away because, in some strange way, it looked cool at the same time! That & this song is still pretty groovy!

  • OMG - this brings back so many memories of when I was a kid. I used to have the SESAME DISCO album with this on it!! Awesome, 5 stars

  • God Bless Muppet King Jim Henson- May he always rest in peace in heaven. He was a visionary! A legend in his own time!

  • Only really good shows are parodied numerous times, and Sesame Street is one of them...I guess.

  • Nice vid!!....Happy holidays! :)

  • Thanks for putting this one up in high quality!

  • Elmo may be an over-abused child star(I don't mind him otherwise),but Kermit will ALWAYS reign supreme on Sesame Street to me!

  • I'm with you. Elmo is over-abused. I don't hate him at all, because I know that all Muppets should be liked. I feel sorry for him, because lots of people hate him.

  • Yeah, I mean sure Sesame Street ain't what it used to be. But I find that because Jim Henson isn't there to steer it in the best direction, and the competition is REALLY a thorn in their side. It seems like their only way to counter that is to promote the popular-with-kids Elmo to the point that he's a pushed star, and that's why people don't like him!

  • I see your piont. But I like the current Sesame Street, it has funny parodies like Meal or No Meal and Pre-School Musical.

  • I'm so with you, current-day Sesame has definitely proved to be more than just "The Elmo Show" like everyone else thinks it has become by pulling off those brilliant spoofs like they've done so many times before. This is why Sesame Street has been around for over 40 years, and may as well go for 40 more! Congrats Sesame Street, you're making me proud. ^_^

  • You are so right!

  • i've had this song stuck in my head for three days. seriously.

thank goodness sesame street is still running, otherwise i'm lamenting over the state of children's television.

  • This is my fave Disco Song of the 70's.

    KERMIT ROCKS!!!!!!

  • I remember seeing this as a kid in the early 80's. It haunted me as a child. The ghost frog hopping away worked itself into a couple of my recurring nightmares that stayed with me till my late teens. Seems silly now, being 30, but I still get chills looking at it.

  • Ha! That also scared me too! Near the end when the ghost frog hopped itself back.

  • I've been having this song go through my head for years. I always thought it was an alphabet song. I knew it was a good song and kermit was a lil eerie dancing away.

  • I miss Jim Henson.

  • Who doesn't? It's a pity that I was born 3 years after his tragic death

  • I was 13 when he died, and I remember Boyz II Men making a song dedicated to all the stars that died in the late 80s and early 90s.

  • the Kermit Sings disco frog would make a great songs for party DJ

  • Even 1,000 stars wouldn't be enough to rate this. This song definitely kicks ass.

  • Jim hensen sounded great when kermit sang back then.

  • ribbit ribbit

  • Kermy is so hawt!!!!

  • i am an 80"s kid, i have missed so much!!! kermit is boss!!!

  • Watching Kermit dance makes me so happy!

  • me too !

  • Now this is something that should have been included on Old School Volume 2.

  • I think it wasn't because Disney owns kermit now, and they would have had to pay royalties.

  • Never thought about that.

  • Actually, those DVDs had several Kermit clips with an acknowledgement of "Muppet Holding Company."

  • I was not aware of that.

  • Disney gave Sesame Workshop the rights to Kermit's Sesame Street appearances.

  • I love this song 100 stars This has been my favourite song sence I was a little girl and I still love it always do always will. And this song still makes me want to dance because it's a cool disco song. If I had my own disco I would have my living room dark disco lights and disco balls flashing slow and fast and lots of Sesame Street songs even disco frog full blast on my record player. I wish I could dance to this song all day and all night. Because it's a cool song. Love you Kermit your fab.

  • Kermit is one heck of a dancer! He's way better than John Travolta! lol ^_^

  • This brings back so many memories...great video quality too...thanks for sharing this.

  • Miss Piggy must be steaming mad. He's dancing with a female frog in 1:36.

  • I like this version of the song better than then Muppet Show version.

  • me too...this is fantastic!! Sesame Street just isn't the same without Jim Henson.

  • Kermit doesn't just get down, he gets "knee deep"!

  • me too. next to A Song from Kermit and Being Green, it rates high up there.

  • LOVE THIS SONG! This has always been my favorite Kermit song on Sesame Street. Thanks for putting this up SS. I love you show and can't get enough of it. Thanks again.

  • I also dig this tune. Hmmm, I wonder if NBC Sportsworld used the instrumental version of this theme.
