I'm 19 and I remember watching this at my grandmother's. She had every Shirley Temple movie on VHS and we watched them over and over again. She always said I looked like Temple because we both had curly strawberry hair and dimples. Gosh, this movie brings back so many wonderful memories, glad I got to watch it again :)

At the end, I wish Miss Minchin got chewed out by Captain Crewe for making his daughter a servant like that, letting the others treat her so. That would have been awesome!!!

The best part about this film is the actress behind Becky. She's so sweet and likable. I never cared for Shirley Temple's sugary-sweet "acting," just like I found the acting in "The Wizard of Oz" to resemble a bad preschool play.

Neither this version nor the remake is good when you know the book. Both are totally missing the point of the book. But the TV-Serie (not the anime) is very decent, the best version of all.
