Crit rating now affects both melee/ranged and spell. There is no more spell crit. Also there is a talent that gives the ret pally a chance for an instant flash of light when DS or CS crit.

I'm not speaking of PvP, I speak of PVE. They aren't viable at all. I'm a Ret Paladin, just to clear this up, and I'm constantly having to re-spec to get groups, it's ridiculous. Sheathe if Light is good, because it's a nice talent, and gives guilds a reason to have a ret paladin in their raid.

I can tell you're a Holy Paladin, just by the way you speak.

At higher end raids, (at least on my server) Ret paladins are actually wanted for "Seal of Light", "Seal of Wisdom" and sometimes even "Seal of Justice" to keep the enemy from running away and aggroing other mobs. So they're still not completely useless.

What I need to know is if the Divine Storm HEALING PROC can crit! If it is unable to crit, then the talent is still rendered useless; since the HoT won't activate unless the Ret pally casts a critical heal.

Unless, you want to just toss a heal every once in a while and hope it crits (because seeing that Divine Storm and Crusader Strike are both Melee attack spells, I doubt that any Ret pally is going to want to stack up spell crit).

P.S: "I can tell you're a Holy Paladin, just by the way you speak." Why does that matter? I can play one class and know about others can't I? I main spec heals but I've played each class long enough to get Karazhan entry rated gear for all three specs.

wdf you talking about? they r giving holy pallys a sweet ass aoe/aoe heal and they r giving us an innervate type spell like mages have to ge back mana. Also they r buffing avenging wrath to get + 20% healing while its popped... soo yeah I wouldn't call that shit at all.

WTF are YOU talking about? Avenging Wrath doesn't give 20% heals... unless that's a spell and not a talent.

And ClanUFG, things like the farther range judgements are for Shockadin spec, which is a Holy Paladin DPS spec. Blizz highly buffed the Shockadin spec this time around.

And I find it completely retarded that Blizz would put a HoT in the Ret tree; it's all pally healers have been rating about (since we don't have it) and they go and torture us and put it in a different tree.

This forces Holy Paladin healers to spec for Beacon of Light, or the HoT; you can't get both.

I'm assuming in the future that good raiding guilds will most likely force half of the pally healers to spec the HoT, and the other half to spec for Beacon of Light to cover raid heals; which is unfortunate, seeing as how raid heals will easily help you top the charts, as opposed to focus healing the tank and not topping charts =/

Oh please. Quit the whining all ready. Ret has been stuck in the bottom of the barrel since launch. The Paladin class was never intended to be a full fledged healer either, I mean look at other MMORPGs. Paladins were usually tanks, with MINOR healing spells, and did good damage against the undead. Blizzard put Sheathe of Light into Ret so they would have more utility.

It could last you all the way to 80, but you'll be looking around lvl 78 blue items, which could be a small upgrade for T6 raiders, (from what i was told).

Try search on Wowhead or so see if they have the newer Wrath items out and compare.
