The way i see it is Tibet lived peacefully practicing budhism for hundreds or thousands of years and the reason they got kicked out of their home is because they were peacefull and the chinese military or police didnt like such peacefull people because it made them look stupid and feel guilty for becoming so agressive, i understand there is two sides to a story but tibetans died not chinese, its sad.

Tibet was anyway fully independent from 1910 to 1950 after deporting last Amban from Lhasa forcibly and declared independence.

There have been recent Tibetan protests outside of China that were treated brutally by foreign governments including USA. Now the world can understand why these misfits are not wanted in China in the first place. Do so-called democratic countries really humane and democratic? I admires the Dalai Lama's patience and coolness.Despite the odds against him and his homeland,he remain steadfast and cool unlike the chinese who seems paranoid and inferior.
It sometimes seems funny for a "powerful country" verbally scolding a person.A very sissy reaction and it readily show the chinese sense of inferior and desperation as compare to him.

Having fed consistently the chinese negative image of the Dalai Lama, i was quite shock by the sheer respect,love and admiration the Dalai Lama command overseas,including chinese overseas.
i think its good that the Dalai Lama got the honor as he is a man of peace n compassion.
