Yep. From what I've read, Melchiah had to stitch the bodies of his victims into his own to maintain his body. As Raziel stated earlier, Melchiah was the weakest of the vampires that Kain raised, so despite his immortality, his body couldn't sustain its own flesh.
We all know that the heart of darkness was used by mortanias to reanimate Kain, but Raziel ripped it out of Janous Ordrin, many years before dosn't that make Raziel older than Kain. (just a thought.)
Human Raziel was alive a long time before Kain, but spent a few hundred years dead before Kain raised him - so I suppose it depends whether you're looking at his age as the amount of time since his (human) birth, or the amount of time he spent alive.
Not in Janos' case! He spent hundreds of years dead, between when Sarafan Raziel tore out his heart, and 'real' Raziel put it back in. So time since birth is in his case much longer then total time spent alive. :) Same thing with Raziel - he was killed (by himself...) and spent hundreds of years dead before Kain resurrected him.

He could have been alive for a bazillion years before he was killed - spent 10 minutes dead - and been resurrected again, then lived another bazillion years. Dude the first time I played SR1 i was like 9 years old, and it was at night. When I saw melchia for the first time, I almost got a heart attack. I turned off my ps1 immediately... and decided to fight him during the day when its bright.... lol
The corruption that Nupraptor inflicted upon all members of the circle upon discovering Ariel dead spread to all of Kain's "children" when he made them, and eventually caused their devolution.
And as a result, they all became ugly, ravenous mutants. But why would it not affect Kain like that, too? After all this time, he looks exactly the same as in the intro.
Well I dont want to spoil anything because idk if you have played the other games, but i'll just say that kain was unchanged (at least in a bad way) because he is 'pure' he is 2nd (or so) generation vampire, and his lieutenants are 3rd gens so they are even further removed from the original ancient vampires. Closer to demons trapped in corpses than the noble vamps. I could tell you exactly why kain is unchanged but without revealing important info i cant say much more...
Melchiah is the ugliest character in the whole Legacy of Kain series. Even in his vampire form he is ugly and all sewing exactly like a living corpse.

Negative mutations and flaws when Khaine gave them vampiric gifts that their forms couldnt handle.
It should be noted tough that Melciha recived his weakes *gift* and that caused his and his offsprings bodies to rot like corpses even tough they where undead, and thus they had to take the skin of those they slayed.
He was the first one to recive the gift, and therefore he got the strongest one, he just also happened to be the only one who grew wings, just like the ancient pure blood vampires.
My question is how could Raziel Recognise his brother in this vid. He looks nothing like the vampire that stood next to kain in the opening movie. Raziel must have some really good vision in his ghoul/Hyldan form.
No Raziel probably relaized it was melchiah because Melchiah asked if he didn't recognise and also called him Brother. Plus he was in Melchiah's territory.
Melchia told him "don't you recognise me brother, am i so changed?" and Raziel mas in Melchia's clan territory. He was probably able to figure this out by himself

No, you can only play as raziel in soul reaver, although kain is a boss battle, and you fight him twice. Soul reaver 1 & 2- play as raziel. blood omen 1 & 2- play as kain.
Defiance is the only one in which you play as both.
It's complicated. in Kain's and Raziel's personal timeline, it goes blood omen 1, Blood omen 2, soul reaver, soul reaver 2, defiance, but in nosgoth's timeline, it's more complicated, as in soul reaver 2 and defiance, they travel in time a lot
In Blood Omen 2 Kain looks young, and in soul reaver 1 and 2 he looks old... so doesn't that mean blood omen 2 is the story BEFORE the soul reavers? And what happened to the series? I was hoping for a brand new hit of the series... :( i guess not... cuz theres still alot of the story to reveal.

Yup. POLE7645 is right. It came out for the PS1 (or in my case the original PSX) before the other systems. I've never played SR1 on anything else besides the PS1.

Actualy it was made for the Playstation one, back in 1999, the day of release was August 17, 1999. I have the game right here on my desk so please dont say it never was made for the PS1. Was one of the best PS1 games out back then and the graphics were awsome!! Love Raziel and Kain's story. Love this series.. Edios needs to give more money to Crystal Dynamics and make a new one.

Negative mutations and flaws when Khaine gave them vampiric gifts that their forms couldnt handle.
It should be noted tough that Melciha recived his weakes *gift* and that caused his and his offsprings bodies to rot like corpses even tough they where undead, and thus they had to take the skin of those they slayed.

He was the first one to recive the gift, and therefore he got the strongest one, he just also happened to be the only one who grew wings, just like the ancient pure blood vampires.

My question is how could Raziel Recognise his brother in this vid. He looks nothing like the vampire that stood next to kain in the opening movie. Raziel must have some really good vision in his ghoul/Hyldan form.

No Raziel probably relaized it was melchiah because Melchiah asked if he didn't recognise and also called him Brother. Plus he was in Melchiah's territory.

Melchia told him "don't you recognise me brother, am i so changed?" and Raziel mas in Melchia's clan territory. He was probably able to figure this out by himself

No, you can only play as raziel in soul reaver, although kain is a boss battle, and you fight him twice. Soul reaver 1 & 2- play as raziel. blood omen 1 & 2- play as kain.
Defiance is the only one in which you play as both.

It's complicated. in Kain's and Raziel's personal timeline, it goes blood omen 1, Blood omen 2, soul reaver, soul reaver 2, defiance, but in nosgoth's timeline, it's more complicated, as in soul reaver 2 and defiance, they travel in time a lot

In Blood Omen 2 Kain looks young, and in soul reaver 1 and 2 he looks old... so doesn't that mean blood omen 2 is the story BEFORE the soul reavers? And what happened to the series? I was hoping for a brand new hit of the series... :( i guess not... cuz theres still alot of the story to reveal.

its complicated, in kain's and raziel's personal timeline (that is if you followed them about through their lives) it oes blood omen, blood omen 2, soul reaver, soul reaver 2, defiance. But they time travel a lot, so in the chronology of nosgoth, it is different. Defiance actually ends in a time period somewhere between blood omen 1 and blod omen 2

you know i was tooling it around in my head and ive decided that kain and raziel sjould have been in Soul caliber 4 instead of DV and yoda. Think about it raziles blue like blue ray and kain is green like everything xbox related, also id like to see raziel and nightmare agruing over souls

Tomb Raider 4 was one of the first games on ps1 that have the lips moving, for me it was like "hey did u check TO4 graphics the lips are moving!" although it wasnt a real lips it was a sprite;\

Melchiah,is the scariest character in the LoK series,i remember when i first saw him when i was 7years old with my cousin who was 9 years old, we tried to attack him, like a newby and simply didnt touched him, then my he attacked and lost 90% of stamina,but the wost thing was that then my cousin said "CHANGE WORLDS",and i though i was safe in the spirit world,but then bam melchia attacked me.Jeez surely this guy is freaking scary

To make this even creepier, we should all keep in mind that Melchiah and his offspring are so fucked up that they have to steal body parts and skin off of corpses in nearby graveyards JUST to keep themselves intact.
What made this battle truly scary for me was how safe I THOUGHT I was in the Spectral Realm when I got whooped. Still scares the crap out of me.

yeah I switched realms so that he wouldn't hit me and I could regain some health, the twat hit me once and I died, I was almost on full health as well!

Yup. POLE7645 is right. It came out for the PS1 (or in my case the original PSX) before the other systems. I've never played SR1 on anything else besides the PS1.

Actualy it was made for the Playstation one, back in 1999, the day of release was August 17, 1999. I have the game right here on my desk so please dont say it never was made for the PS1. Was one of the best PS1 games out back then and the graphics were awsome!! Love Raziel and Kain's story. Love this series.. Edios needs to give more money to Crystal Dynamics and make a new one.
