hehe, after seeing him live many times over the years, it's common for fans to sigh a slight "ugh" when he slings on the synth. i have been a fan of his since the early '70s. i can very well appreciate his talents, just don't like his choice of synth guitar sounds so much :)

is this because of the soudns or because of the very standard patterns he always plays.. i' ve met pat a couple of times and even behind the scens he is playing the same patterns.. that;'s why I like the cats like Bireli Lagren and John MC L. a bit better as guitarist.. unfortunately.. the PMG and Pat's music has certain High trip quotient that is unfindable anywhere else!! the gr-300 tone pat creates is kinda special.. probably because of the two Mr pcm 42 delay's..

@SteefStevens I've noticed this kind of thing as well. Especially when he plays the synth guitar. I love its sound, choice of notes. He rocks a lot, don't get me wrong, but Pat often uses same patterns. Bireli Lagrene catches me more.
