I still can't understand how late 60s introspective music that you can still dance, and/or mid60s wild, sound innovative 'garage' rock to a mere few years of the 1970s produce horrendous genres such as glam rock and platform shoes?!??!?!? It's as though the moment the 70s began it went retarded. No, I'm not a David Bowie, Gary Glitter, Mud, etc. fan.
reminds me of when my parents went away and my two sisters 12 and 13 years older than me took over the house!!!! yea party time, the whole house stinking of weed good times
GREAT STUFF. This video's production and concept are light years ahead of what was happening in '68.Odd how something like this can seem so fresh given it's "Grooviness" factor.
Why couldn't we Americans have taken Julie Driscoll into our collective bosoms and made her a star here? Too advanced for us perhaps? Hard to say. She once wrote a letter to Lester Bangs thanking him for a review of one of her solo LPs and Lester, in his typical smartalecky fashion wrote that he was kinda hoping for an offer of something a wee bit more physically carnal from her. I can see why he thought that way :very beautiful she indeed is, and her vocal talents were mucho fabulouso.
@thewordofgord oh so jealous, love her music its brilliant .you can buy an album from amazon: julie driscoll, brian auger & the trinity: a kind of love in 1967-1971. all the best hits on this.
as a kid of the sixties born in 1969 why did I not Discover Brian Auger and Julie Driscoll until 5 years ago....everyone of my freinds Are in the same boat...I play them trinity stuff/brian and julie they just love it..
Two days on the spin i've 'discovered' footage of the trinity i never seen, knew existed. That's despite knowin this and all there songs for 25yrs! The so called 'boffins' must've been brain-dead in the 80's. YOUTUBE AND MOBILE PHONES SHOULD'VE BEEN AROUND THEN, i say. lol
Thanks for posting all the Driscoll/Auger. Where did you find this batch of clips? They're way ahead of their time, as "music videos" circa '68 go...w/ great production values & some visual concepts that could still pass muster today. Any idea who produced/directed?
This is just fantastic! I saw Brian Auger play in Golden Gate park for the 40th Anniversary of the Summer Of Love and he's still "steaming" his organ! Only Germany's Frumpy could compare to this killer band; by the way, check out Inga Rumph singing "How The Gypsy Was Born" on youtube to hear what I'm talking about...goosebumps!
SUPERB!!!! One of the best bands ever!!!!

It's simple, Brad- There's vast music industry conspiracy to keep this stuff quiet: They don't want us to realise today's stuff is SHITE
