I guess you could say the same about coxwains in rowing, they just sit there and push two things in their hand to steer the boat whilst rowers have to push an extra 60-70kilos along! But it's them shouting at you and encouraging you to keep going that makes you push through the pain! (I'm a rower btw!).

Oh my God!I was thinking about this video a few hours ago! I first saw this in a national event 4 months ago and have been wanting to view it in its entirety ever since!!! I wanted to search the interwebs for this specific video file for a certain project but I didn't know what terms to use! What a coincidence! This showcases the power of a parent's love for their child. Its priceless! And when love is shared, both the giver and the recipient are blessed.
Our grandson, a freshman honors student at UT-Tyler discovered Team Hoyt via a professor at that college. He was so moved, he let us all know about them. Team Hoyt has no idea how many families they touch. God bless that wonderful family and professors who recognize the importance of "rounding out" their students.

as i am watching this touching video, my tears keeps on pouring out of my eyes. im not a cry baby who easily cries even in the toughest of times. but this video moved me and touched my very soul. i salute all the father who are doing the same to what Dick hoyt is doing to his son Rick. and to Dick and Rick Hoyt, you are my true heroes.

I think that Mr. Hoyt is exactly the kind of man that deserves recognition. We all find popular personalities and exhault them publicly; however, nobody takes the time to truly recognize a man of this magnitude.
A popular artist passes away and the world weeps for days; yet, ask anyone if they know who Mr. Hoyt is and sadly nobody has a clue.
I want to say that without a doubt Mr. Hoyt is the most selfless man I have seen in my lifetime. May God bless this Giant of a Man and his family.

u r a true hero...I have a son that has disabilities but like u my husband & I also don't let the disabilities have him...we do everything w/him just like u so sir we commend u 4 also sharing the unconditional love of your child & not letting the medical field alter your judgement & institutionalize your child..like u we give r 4 yr old the normal life. r son is missing his front left lobe of his brain & we were told he would never talk but he is learning slow but he's doing it...thank u so much

Oh my God!I was thinking about this video a few hours ago! I first saw this in a national event 4 months ago and have been wanting to view it in its entirety ever since!!! I wanted to search the interwebs for this specific video file for a certain project but I didn't know what terms to use! What a coincidence! This showcases the power of a parent's love for their child. Its priceless! And when love is shared, both the giver and the recipient are blessed.

Our grandson, a freshman honors student at UT-Tyler discovered Team Hoyt via a professor at that college. He was so moved, he let us all know about them. Team Hoyt has no idea how many families they touch. God bless that wonderful family and professors who recognize the importance of "rounding out" their students.

OMG had me cry so bad :( WHAT A GUY!!! doc said : Forget Rick,put him away in an institution... Rick Graduated from highschool.got his degree at Boston university,and now living on his own. Who knows how many Rick's are out there,put away in an institution.I love when @ 5:25 the journalist says to Dick :Your'e a hero Rick turns to his dad and give him a big smile. This is one of the biggest wakeup call i've ever seen GOD BLESS DICK AND RICK HOYT !!
