i want to get this pedal but my amp doesnt have an effects loop and i dont use a distortion pedal i just use my amp's distortion. wat should i do??? get a distortion pedal first then get or this???
@haydenv2 . Indeed, if you want to use disto you need in your case to use disto pedal before PS-5 in the chain. If not sound will be not very good with the disto AMP.

@cuirTwin and also with this pedal using it for harmonies can u play different scales like harmonic minor, minor pentatonic and any of the modes?? or only the major scale and the minor scales
Well.... Since all of the scales in western music are basicly just one scale, Yes! Minor and Major setting is a slap in the face cause Cmajor is of course the same as Aminor and the Pentatonic are the same, just with less notes. If tried the bycanthinian scale and it sounded allright...
Hey i need your help! i just bought this pedal, and it sounds great on clean, but when i play with it on distortion it sounds horrible, the harmonies sounds like there in touch, but it just sounds terrible with my distortion, do u know how i can fix this?
ya i'm having the same problem, I just bought this pedal and it sounds great on clean but with distortion it sounds way to dirty. i use only my amps distortion. what should i do?
Ps-5 should always after the disto in the Chain. So never place PS-5 before AMP disto. So solution is to use PS-5 in the AMP loop if your amp have a effect loop.
Be sure to place the PS-5 the fist in the AMP loop. Loop Send -> PS-5 -> pedals -> LOOP return.
If you have no effect loop on your AMP, you can not use disto of the AMP because Disto should always before the PS-5 in your chain.
In this case use a separate disto pedal first then the PS-5.
No, it's not normal at all. please check that the first knop is set to the midde position and try again. Try alos to put your guitar directly to the input of the pedal and the output of the pedal to the Amp.
Can you play the harmonic minor scale on this pedal? I don't mean the minor scale nor the major. The Harmonic Minor scale is a minor scale with a diminished 7th.
in boss gt series the harmonizer has a parameter named "delay time" or "predelay"
wich allow you to set when the harmony sounds after you play the original note
and the goes from 0 - 300 milliseconds
thats awezome, because makes the harmony perfect and is more real play something for example after 100 milliseconds latter and not at the exactly same same, thats sounds more like real harmony
Yes it is. Even though he is moving all over the fingerboard, he is using a specific scale, so the notes in that scale all relate to the root note or key.

It's not improvisation. It's musical masturbation. It's noodling. It's basically nonsense. No rhythm. No form. Just pure unadulterated garbage beginner noodling. Instead of spending your money on pedals, maybe you should be paying a teacher? Because I can tell, you obviously aren't studying with anyone.
I didn't know these track. I've just lissen it now on youtube. But You can do it with te PS-5. I can not make video for the moment due to lack of time.
0Year0Zero0 = The reason you think you've heard this is many many video games and songs move in thirds. So melodically this isn't any new territory...
My harmonizer will do Major 3rd or Minor 3rd. It doesn't adjust it to fit in key... Pretty neat pedal man. So what happens if you hit say a C#? What tone would it harmonize with?(in the Aminor key mode)
I've to try this. C# is not in key of C, I presume harmonizer will take C# into account as C or D and add the relevant third. I'll let you know soon. for sure final sound will be bad.
E is added to C# but several time I get F by doing slighty vibrado. So harmonizer take C# into account as C or D depending of your fine tuning. let say the closer note... and the tirhd minor is added in this case E or D.
Do you know if it works for a bass? I play with a 6 stringer, so if you could please try it on higher fret of a bass, so I don buy it for nothing. This is exactly what i want but there is no stomp harmonist for basses.
idk about this pedal. But on mine u have to find the relative major and minor keys because it doesnt have spiecifc settings for only minor keys but other than that these things are awesome
That's some nice playing. I own this pedal and for the price, it's a darn good harmonizer. It tracks perfectly. And you are so right, for chords it's not so good. I don't use it much but I like what you just played. I'm going to go put back into my loop. Thanks! :)
With the shifter mode on this pedal, can you play in other tunings? E.g. if my guitar is in Standard tuning, could I set the shifter to get half-step down, and if I played it would sound like I'm playing in Eb?
Also, the harmonizer sounds awesome, this is a really cool pedal.
I will often play in harmonic minor modes... So let's say I wanted to harmonize to the 3rd using the 5th mode of A harmonic minor, Which is E and a major type mode. Would I use the E major setting on the dial? or can it not track harmonic minor modes.
hot dayummmm i gotta get me that pitch shifter! thats exactly the sound i been looking for like melodic, octaves, harmonies beautiful! thanks for the video and well for this now i know what i need for that awesome blend of melody!
You need to use your amp fx loop for the harmoniser. Disto must be the first effect in your chain

can you use the delay time parameter in the harmonist mode?
or
whats the diference between the pitch shifter mode and the harmonist?
id like to know if you can hear the other note, for example a third, after you play the main note
even if is milliseconds latter
thanks
yopetrucci 2 years ago
Hello,
The delay parameter is only applicable for detune mode, neither for harmonist neither pitch shifer mode.
Pitch sifter add a desired interval to the note you are playing. This is like a simple note translation.
Harmoniser add a note but the note will still part of the key you are playing!

i have a question how does the key knob work here because if ur moving all over hte fingerboard its not neccesserally in one key right?
edma111 2 years ago
For using the Harmonizer mode : You have to select the Key where you're playing wiht the KEY knob.
If you want to change your tonality during a song... you have to change the KEY knob position...

also diminished if you set it to strict minor thirds, or whole tone scales if you set it to major thirds etc etc
If you're doing harmonic minor or hungarian minor- your best bet would be to find a close relative key

Yes, I can be used as an octaver thanks to the pitch shifting mode.
With this mode, you can for instance add a note one or two octaver lower (or hight) to the note you're palying.

Shifter is based on the Note frequency. You can use all tuning you want.
Yes, you can pitch shift setp down. but to be honest, sound is really good for single note, not for chords.

I will often play in harmonic minor modes... So let's say I wanted to harmonize to the 3rd using the 5th mode of A harmonic minor, Which is E and a major type mode. Would I use the E major setting on the dial? or can it not track harmonic minor modes.
firstraptor73 3 years ago
Yes, use A minor mode on the dial.
cuirTwin 3 years ago
Thats a nice tone and great vibrato :)
Question:
I do loads of songs need to go from, eg, ACDC to Nickleback but re-tuning is a hassle.
So could I pitch shift down, say from E to C and have just the pitch-shifted tone coming out? (Like a 100% wet signal, I guess you call it).
InvisibleMud 3 years ago
Yes you an get only the shifted signal. You can shift down or up. Note that pith shifter works fine for single note. For chords it's not so good.
kind regards
