It works just like my private insurance did in that my MD's office just sends the bills to Medicare. And my doctor doesn't have to spend half a day on the phone begging them to approve a treatment I need. Nor do I worry that Medicare will drop me if I develop something even worse than I already have. And, yes, if I get pregnant, Medicare will pay my MD and hospital bills. Idiot.

The polls show the majority of the American people don't want this bill. If they invested as much time into revising our failed trade agreements maybe our economy would flourish. If they had revised them back in the 90s we wouldn't have lost well over 20 million jobs to foreign workers. It would not have been profitable for American manufacturing companies to move to foreign countries to take advantage of cheap labor. We don't want anymore backroom deals that sell us out. Thank you

If medicare could support itself and wasn't going bankrupt then I would agree with his solution. It is true that many insurance companies don't have to compete, so open up the state lines to allow cross competition the same way that vehicle insurance works.
In the end, the problem isn't the insurance it is the cost of medical procedure that is the problem. 10,000 dollars to give birth to a healthy baby is unacceptable and insuring people through the government will only the dollar.

It's BEEN bankrupt, almost since its inception, and it has consistently costed much, much more then congress has promised it would (as usually happens when they are allowed to run amok without oversight).. It is a failure by any definition of the word, and Grayson wants to multiply that 10-fold.
The Democrats had a full year to pass any bill they wanted. They had a majority in the House, 58 in the Senate (with 1 former Dem (Lieberman) and the Socialist Bernie Sanders from VT to make 60) and the Executive Branch. All they had to do was tow a party line. If their healthcare bills were as GREAT as the Democrat leadership proclaimed then it should have passed last May.

If you're looking for ignorance you need look no further than a mirror Kojach. Private Insurers don't force you with the authority of Law to pay premiums. They don't force you to purchase Insurance at all.
This plan Alan Grayson is promoting doesn't allow you to opt out. It does include a government sanctioned committee that will decide if your request for aid has merit. If the committee thinks your request lacks merit, and you die from lack of care, I don't see how that's not a death panel.

Idiot. I have Medicare because I am disabled. People under age 65 can get it if they qualify for SS disability. It works just like my private insurance did in that my MD's office just sends the bills to Medicare. And my doctor doesn't have to spend half a day on the phone begging them to approve a treatment I need. Nor do I worry that Medicare will drop me if I develop something even worse than I already have. And, yes, if I get pregnant, Medicare will pay my MD and hospital bills. Idiot.

We all should be asking them because if this gets voted in WE are stuck with it. If any health care proposal gets voted in WE are stuck with it! Haste makes waste, its a dangerous game to play! No, I was talking about his son, Rand Paul. I hope he gets in the U.S. Senate this year, but sadly, it's doubtful. Also, Ron Paul DOES care about the American People a lot more than almost any other politician on either side does. He's one of the few politicians that voted consistently against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, he predicted the economy was going to get worse, he's against excess government spending, etc. He wouldn't try to force his religion or morals down our throats, either.

If medicare could support itself and wasn't going bankrupt then I would agree with his solution. It is true that many insurance companies don't have to compete, so open up the state lines to allow cross competition the same way that vehicle insurance works.
In the end, the problem isn't the insurance it is the cost of medical procedure that is the problem. 10,000 dollars to give birth to a healthy baby is unacceptable and insuring people through the government will only the dollar.

It's BEEN bankrupt, almost since its inception, and it has consistently costed much, much more then congress has promised it would (as usually happens when they are allowed to run amok without oversight).. The Democrats had a full year to pass any bill they wanted. They had a majority in the House, 58 in the Senate (with 1 former Dem (Lieberman) and the Socialist Bernie Sanders from VT to make 60) and the Executive Branch. All they had to do was tow a party line. If their healthcare bills were as GREAT as the Democrat leadership proclaimed then it should have passed last May.

You can't get it if you were ever sick, if you get sick or you lose your job. That is not a comforting health insurance system. The simplicity of this bill is difficult for both parties to embrace. If you're looking for ignorance you need look no further than a mirror Kojach. Private Insurers don't force you with the authority of Law to pay premiums. They don't force you to purchase Insurance at all.
This plan Alan Grayson is promoting doesn't allow you to opt out. It does include a government sanctioned committee that will decide if your request for aid has merit. If the committee thinks your request lacks merit, and you die from lack of care, I don't see how that's not a death panel.

This will criminalize maintaining health and choosing not to carry health insurance. But you don't want to look at all the details. I love this guy. I wish he were my representative instead of the In-the-pocket-of-the-insurance-industry guy I've got representing me - Aaron Shock. This guy Grayson has balls, and appears to want to fight instead of compromising the future away. When you imagine the future, do you see HMOs? Can you visualize Captain Kirk asking Bones if he's covered by his HMO? If not, if universal care is coming, then all the years until we get it are just wasted time. CUT TO THE CHASE!!!

Too bad there's no way this bill is going to pass. When most of the politicians,BOTH DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS, get their campaign donations from big corporations such as insurance companies it is no surprise that americans aren't getting the "change" they were promised during obama's campaign.
