Thank you, James Bond! I used the advise since the movie came out: "He allways runs while others walk, he acts while other man just talk!" Got me were I want to go and to the top in my life !
This song is great. But is like the quintessential cool spy song theme, with the trumpet riffs, that it has been parodied to death by Weir Al Yankovick and Mike Myers, it is hard not to hear it and bring a smile.
Thunderball, in the book, was the name of the operation to recover the stolen bombs...I think it was mentioned in the movie. Very dramatic but as per usual in naming operations it was just picked out of the air.
I think a thunderball must be a thermonuclear explosion probably a trillionth of a second after detonation when the fireball is still an elipsoid that is hotter than the the Sun which will generate the shockwave literally like thunder and this makes sense in the context of the plot.
@superatlasman It's a pity that some Brits are such passive aggressive, condescending wieners. You are simply sour because your favourite Bond is the most kitschy of the lot- Roger Moore? Have you witnessed Moonraker?!
Why did you cut the opening fight the best part of the entire film ?

Thunderball is the codename for the assignment. M says it in the briefing
plykshow 2 years ago 7
@plykshow but! It doesn't what that means though!
MisterSynyster 2 years ago
@MisterSynyster It is slang to describe a flash-explosion, like a ball of flame accompanied by a sudden 'boom' sound, too.
