  • KILL THE HIPPIES cCc

  • Well .... Pink Floyd were in London and Woodstock in the USA ....

  • ero piccolo ma ha cambiato la mia vita.....ciao Giampy...ora la famiglia e' ricompostA LASSU'....manco solo io....

  • This isn't hippy music. It's a really nice pop/rock song with lyrics about a guy looking back on his childhood and the innocence and simplicity of those days, wondering why things change (for the worse).

  • Relics.... great alb

  • Che bei anni quelli....peccato che io ero piccino...

  • ¿PORQUÉ NO PODEMOS JUGAR HOY?

  • Un montón de personas , ocupándose de cosas más importantes y transendentes que el dinero.

  • stunning

  • Saucerful of Secrets was one of the first PF cult albums that i listened to along with UMMAGUMMA,OBSCURED BY CLOUDS and THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN back in early 90´s and their majestic unique unusual art is spread largely and (un)commonly...

  • Richard Wright wrote this very deep song about childhood and how those are the happiest times in your life. This song has nothing to do with hippes or twentysomethings or teens or the 60s. This is about your lost childhood and how pwefect things were when you had all day just to play, and none of those grown-up things like bills, sexual urges, loneliness, despair, etc.

  • This has always been a song about lost youth to me. Your childhood ends, and no matter how bad you want to go back you can't. All you can do is remember those days. This has always been a beautiful, yet sad song to me. Poingant? Thatt's probably the word I'm looking for.

  • I was a hippie, my wife was a hippie. Now we are conservative hippies. We do remember a day. Didn't do a whole lot of drugs!

  • @Elwood1992 have a listen to pipers at the gate of dawn. if that's not "hippy" music, i don't know what is.

  • @mjtisc1 There is a nuance of difference between hippy music like The Grateful Dead,Jefferson Airplane etc and Psychedelia.Psychedelia,I'd say,has some elements of punk in it's ingredients.

  • I don't like hippies, I think I might push them over with my foot

  • ok @trichoone i accept you like woodstock and 60s and that wonderful era, but even that you can addapt this song to the remember of better old times its not the pruporse of the song. The song has a much more deep ( and i dont want to use the word deep) meaning. The video is ok but can make people miss the real meaning. Sadly 60s is now more a cliché and something fashion to follow or to be part of than a real fealing for most of the people.

Use this video for a Jeffersons Airplane's song! :)

  • maan , it doesn't matter if the music is about hippie things or why there's a lot of hippie pictures, just enjoy the music...

  • this lp is on 33rpm check it out

  • Well... I'm not an old hippie, and I could never remember those days since I'm only 20 :P

But to me, the spirit of those old days will live on forever and ever, unless all life is exterminated and nature will have to restart the evolution from the top :P

  • the first second of this song is amazing

  • 15 years old and jamming to this song<3

  • Thank You for this !!!

    Aahh the memories =))

  • I hate hippies.

  • @HonkIfYouLoveHonking Troll with awesome name?

  • love

  • who gives a fuck about the pictures..shut up and listen to the music

  • what's with all the hippie dissing? hippies are the most relaxed people on earth. don't hate hippies if you're gonna listen to hippie music

  • @WealAndWoeOfficial lol, Do you really believe that Pink Floyd made hippie music? Why? Because it's from the same era? Or because there were also some hippies who listened to the Floyd? Don't you know that Pink Floyd has always tried to be as insular as possible? They definitely didn't identify with the hippie subculture; not as a band nor as individuals. Richard Wright himself has actually said that he was a bit of a "Jazz snob" in those days.

  • @Elwood1992 well they were referred as british hippies but that was just their association with the drug and love culture in england, and the fact they made psychedelic music. I guess really they were not hippies in the way that they loved peace and tried to spread it, but it was the fact of the type of culture of the youth you could consider them hippies. Pink floyd though have definitely always tried to make them selves unique compared to others.

  • i love this song

  • i was wondering i rekon people will be listening to floyd in 200 years time , i think every track by floyd is an amazing piece of music, we are all so lucky to have such brilliant music to love and enjoy .....

  • If you keep listnening to this song, we will undoubtedly stay this way :D

    Hail Pink floyd!

  • remember a day when there was no bitchin just listen to pink and have a coke and smile

  • This song is about childhood, and it blows me away so strong, that i cant describe, its like a flashback of my childhood, stronger than mushroom trips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i want to cry!!!! syd was a forever child

  • Syd Barrett on slide guitar ...

  • @zapspace ftw

  • @misterdeadhead One of his last achievements with the group ...

  • groovy!

  • 2 ppl dont remember a day!

  • Superb

  • @trichoone- nicely done.

  • Hide from your little brothers gun..........dream yourself away......

  • This song is so beautiful.... :']

  • I LOVE THE WEED AT THE BEGINNING<3

  • 0:59- Nippple shot!

  • I was born in 1980... These images are of the revelries of hedonistic rich kids. My generation has this problem, too, absent the delsusions of changing the world en masse. For my generation pink floyd is about being fucked up and zoning out and enjoying the silence of the world in yourself, even though you're at a keg party surrounded by others. Future generations will only hear Floyd music via headphones or on their version of youtube, this is why their music will stand the test of time

  • music for the ages pink floyd are up with u2

  • @90alexcatalan are up there with u2? how about leagues beyond, theres no comparison in complexity or quality of music, granted i completely enjoy u2, but come on now.

  • People are such complex creatures...

  • man im 14 and i still love pink floyd i guess it runs in the family well ima goin to smoke a joint

    peace and love man

  • a world ,a way to be,the youth, the music, the way to dress, everything here reminds me that i belong to the last century, even if i had to live till to be really old,and to ask to myself from how many years am i living in a future i imagined really better, unfortunately nothing went as me,and only God knows ,really many many milliond of youngs thought..even to moving vid, really a great trip into the past, great, *****!!

  • you do as ya bloody well like mate. good tune, nice one. remember.....

  • truly great song by Rick Wright.

  • Back in the day there were no electronic screen displays like in this video. Folks would drop colored oil into water under an overhead projector or use a disco ball of mirrors with a colored spotlight. We forget how much things have changed. No one even imagined Youtube.

  • LOVE this song, people should listen to this period more often. Guys, i made of a cover of Paintbox, another great song from the era, check it out: ?v=8rtqpMBaPy4

  • this song sends me to another world, man

  • I'm 15 and I fucking love this music with all my heart

  • Ummm pretty sure this song wasnt about Woodstock

this was on A Saucerful of Secrets which was put out in 1968

a year before Woodstock..... just saying lol

  • @ummagumma024 Yes you are absolutely correct my friend and to be honest i put it up not realy thinking it was about woodstock just in fact remembering the period , thanks for viewing , peace !

  • this song makes me think when i was young and don't think about time and worry about nothing.....playing with friends in the fields and backyard akk the day in the summer :)

  • Why ruin this song with all these pictures of hippy cliches? RW is rolling his eyes in his grave

  • @alderre , Sorry I don't asgree Rick was a great and modest member of Floyd and he would remember that these cliche pics as you put it were from an era that loved and adored them .-trichoone .

  • @trichoone I have to agree that Rick's carefree lyrics do mesh well with imagery from Woodstock. Read the lyrics and you will see the connection. And great visualization of the song in this video.

  • @alderre its reality to an entire generation, its only afterwards that hippies became a ' cliche'

  • @alderre Hippies wanted peace and justice for all, whats so bad about that?

  • @alderre They did more for you than the sad cliches killing innocent people in vietnam

  • Comment removed

  • My adolescent years were greatly impacted by this great LEGENDARY BAND! LOVE IT !!!! They will live F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!! Thanks for the upload! ;)

  • rick wrote this i think....looked like an average dude but was so much more..rip :)

  • this song is about childhood memories. the message is very similar to "Time"

  • @freddiebarry93 almost a precursor to "Time"

  • Love it RIP Rick may your soul rest in piece and thank you for the legendary music you have left behind

  • Very well done. A pleasure to hear the vinyl recording and a most interesting video . Great stuff !

  • This song is onyrically beautiful and also psychedelic...

  • If i could go back to a single point in time, it would be the summer of 1969 at Woodstock <3

  • This one and "Paint Box' are wonderful songs. Wright was quite underated.

  • Anybody know what Pink Floyd's last release if the 1960s was?

And what was their 1st release of the 1970s?

  • Another great Pink Floyd song written by the late Richard Wright.

  • thank you brother/sister

everything used to work better in those few years

  • why do you all think this music is so great? o.O

  • @zitronenstern Because it is.

  • Pink Floyd ? I lost my hearing for them ! - Rocco 1966 - Italy

  • R.I.P Richard

  • and you obviously havn't read some of the comments below me, because they are literally just saying the same thing I said

  • old? im 35 lol

  • @ the big lebowski everyone knows floyd is great but damn you sound like a loser!!

  • Keep cool, man!

  • @dozer602 you don't know anything about him, so don't make comments. Pink Floyd is definitely one of the greatest things in my life as well, but I have an active social life.

  • @dozer602 Are we not allowed to say anything on here anymore, I am only young, I have a good social life but I am just a mad Pink Floyd fan, how ignorant can you get by saying I am a loser over a fucking comment on youtube. And therefore every one that gave my comment a thumbs up is a loser because it related to them. Music is very important, just because you may take it as a bit of fun doesn't mean we have to, watch Almost Famous it will show what I mean.

  • 1:50 = trippin on acid

  • ahah, "dream yourself away" nice phrase :p Remember those days when you were young, how simple everything could be. Shanti

  • PINK FLOYD aren't just the greatest band ever, they are the greatest thing in my life.

  • now that is sad-

  • Too me pink floyd is more than just music, much

  • When i was young this music spoke to my soul kept me from going mad

  • Great, saurcerful of secrets was a 10/10 album.

  • Beck Hansen's 'Modern Guilt' CD has a few rip offs of the Floyd sound, including his song called 'Chemtrails'

  • GrEaT!..^^

  • yeah hes right i couldn't live without pink floyd their the best

  • its amazing how pink floyd still lives on today..i am only 19 and honestly without their music i dont know how i would go on in life

    I LOVE YOU FLOYD

  • Rick Wright was the soul of Pink Floyd. R.I.P.

  • Pink Floyd changed my life mostly every day id tried to heard their albums on my roof watching the stars theres no name for that feeling =) amazing , Pink Floyd the best of the best =)

  • i agree 400%

  • it's really a great choice of pics,5/5 !!

  • This song is full of hooks, ahhhh get these hooks outta me haha Floyd rules

  • Quote:"Floyd rules" true that

  • RIP, Rick Wright. You were always the quiet one of the Pink Floyd family member, but your voice expressed a peaceful, loving sound and your contribution as music writer, singer and great keyboardist will be missed. Play in heaven my friend,

  • thankyou annbrit and well said .

  • without wright floyd wouldnt be the same thats for sure and i totally mean Instrumentally he was not instrumentally quiet at all but i agree to the others annbrit.

  • @Annbrit very well said...

  • Love love this song so much. "Relics" was one of those life-changing albums for me.

  • Rick's singing kinda reminds me of John Lennon. Anybody else agree?

  • i know what your saying its hard to put into words

  • i wished i lived in the 60's

  • Maybe!Today i listened to a bunch of old Floyd

  • was this song REALLY about woodstock?

  • could be don't you think .

  • saucerful of secrets was realeased in 1968 woodstock was 69 so i dont think so plus pink floyd wasnt in woodstock.

  • @trichoone It's impossible. This song was released a year before Woodstock happened.

  • @trichoone

this song was definitely not written about woodstock.

this song was recorded in october 1967.

    woodstock occurred in august 1969.

  • @trichoone its about childhood .and stuff. peter pan man., :(

  • @Viznel137 I don't think so, the album this song is on was released in 1968 and Woodstock was in 1969. Maybe Monterey Pop though

  • @Viznel137 It's definetly not about Woodstock for the reason that this album came out in 68 and Woodstock wasn't until 69

  • @Viznel137 Not possible. Remember aA day was recorded in October 1967, a full 22 MONTHS before Woodstock.

  • @Viznel137 this song was recorded in 1967...

  • @Viznel137 This song was released in 1968 on the album A Saucerful of Secrets Woodstock was 1969. The song does fit, however. A kinder, gentler time indeed.

  • Pink Floyd wrote "Dogs".

  • why do you keep writing this comment?

  • Cause I'm a prophet.

  • a prophet of what retardation?

  • None. I'm a prophet for Pink Floyd.

  • david gilmour played guitar.

  • Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no. Syd Barret actually played lead guitar on this song.

  • It was written and sung by Richard Wright and Syd Barrett played lead guitar.

  • Yes they did and it's an awesome song. You're right, everybody should know.

  • David Glmour is performing 'Remember a Day' on Jools Holland's 'Later' BBC tv show tonight as a tribute to Rick.

  • RIP the most underrated Floyd!

  • I love how gradually the psychedelic colors start to fade in along about 3:35.

I would have liked to see more of that happening throughout the video. Even so, 5 stars!
