  • So I'm sure he did not have to ever struggle a day in his picture perfect life but he suppose to help us out of our struggle this is a stack of bull.

  • He is so not genuine ... don't always put your trust in someone who talks the talk but can't walk it. Every time a black person gets a little power in Mass this is what happens. Everything he is saying is a stack of bull.. He does not care about the people of Massachusetts. I'm sure he came from a wealth family who lived from away from everyday problems and harassment from the cops that we face.

  • Deval, thank you for your hard work during extremely challenging times. Don't give up the fight. I believe in you.

  • This guy is a disaster. He is afraid to cut government waste because he is scared of the unions. He is at about a 32% approval rating. Goodbye, Deval!

  • Christy Mihos is taking you out of that comfortable chair Deval. You are the worst thing that could have and did happen to Ma. Go ahead and get a job with your kamikaze buddy Obama, he is going down in flames in 2012 and is taking everything down with him that he can

  • We don't need new or higher taxes, we need to cut the rediculous spending in this state. How about we start by not giving free cars and insurance to people on welfare.

I have a series called Standing Firm where I discuss topics like this. If you would like to see more, click jdlaporte001 above and subscribe.

  • Your rants are as ridiculous as your spelling.

  • These friggin' people.

Cut this, cut that, cut this, cut that......

Now they're talking about taxing what you exhale.

Next they'll look into taxing you everytime you FART!

Oh....that's the cow tax....If you think I'm kidding...I'm not...they want to tax all animals that FART!

  • Start by turning the F'n light off behind you and take the picture off the wall and auction it off that should pay for a few pot holes.

I have to balance my check book every month......I suggest you do the same!

  • I have a question where can you find your local reps voting record? Very hard to do for massachusetts. Wonder if that was a cost saving thing.

  • I am disgusted with Mass. I am disgusted with the double talk from the politicians. I am also disappointed with the people of Mass as we can share in the blame. Did we not have an oppurtunity to send a message last Nov with question #1? Yes. You were told that if #1 passed there would be tax increases? It failed, here we are no reform and more taxes on the way. WAKE UP! Beacon Hill is laughing at us, and will continue because the voters are willing to take it!

  • You don't need more revenue; you need less spending. When was the last time a government agency was closed? There is still a Steamship Authority is Massachusetts. When did the last steamship sail; 1930?

I know they still run Ferry's but so does the MBTA. Do we need two organizations and beaucracy to run Ferry's? Our state is not that large.

  • Why not cut the pension and incredible benefits - along with good pay - for state workers? How much would that save the state?

  • Privatize the MBTA. It's a money pit. It's literally bankrupt. State unions are killing us.

The Senate and house are not being serious AT ALL unless they want to reform the waste in this state's government spending.

They don't seem willing to do that.

It's also true that doing business in MA has become increasingly unattractive due to parochial politics and every crooked politician needing to get a kick back before green-lighting projects and new business.

VOTE LOCAL AND VOTE THE BUMS OUT.

  • I actually agree with the Governor on this one. I would much rather a gas tax than a sales tax that simply chases Massachusetts consumers to other states to do their shopping. The House did not think this through in passing the bill, and I hope the Senate will put some thought into it, and not pass the bill.

  • The Gov appeals to the Voters; however, he didn't like hearing from them when they objected to the $175K job he was going to give to a friend.

  • Negative comments are not productive. We elected this man to clean up a mess and we need to keep positive ideas flowing to him to help solve the problems accumulated over the past decade plus. I have contacted my rep and senator. I envite you to do the same. Together we can!!!!

  • A sales tax increase will drive more of our customers to NH. and to the internet. It will make it much harder as a small business ,near the NH border , to survive in Mass. Will the attempted gain in sales tax offset the loss of more small businesses?

  • Hey deval, stop hiring your special hacks for BS jobs at 100K a year, it makes it hard to take you seriously. How's your office look lately, comfy ?

    YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED.

  • The Gov should have given out the main number up on Beacon Hill so everyone can call the reps & senators.

    this tax move is obscene!!!!

  • There is a better approach to increase revenue. Besides transportation, a gas tax should fund education, health care, and local aid. Bill H3312 would increase the gas tax 50 cents, with $1.5 billion additional yearly revenue going to the general fund.

Besides raising revenue, a gas tax promotes fuel efficiency, public transportation, and reduced CO2 emissions. Reduced demand for gas helps lower its cost. The price of gas goes up less than the tax, with oil producers getting lower profits.

  • The Governor has a comprehensive, long-term commitment to and vision for the Commonwealth, unlike any Massachusetts governor during my 55 years as a voter. He is working constantly to serve us, and we must support him. The Legislature needs to take responsibility for the broad efforts the Governor proposes.

  • I agree with the governor: FIRST reforms , and only then tax increases . And NOT the sales tax you dummies. The clowns in the House! All 107 of them who are voting for the increase. Are they on crack?

The gas tax and the other targeted taxes make more sense.

  • I'm with the Governor on this one!

  • Me, too.

  • Me, three.

All those targeted taxes would solve a lot of problems. Just make sure if any of that money goes to the MBTA, that every cent is monitored and actually put towards something we need, thieves...

  • Sales tax increase is a HUGE mistake.... unfortunately the legislature runs the show here, not the Governor.

I, personally, support the gas tax proposal.

  • How about we don't support anything until the is reform. Let's hold thier feet to the fire for a change.
