@PrisonerNumber9653 yeah. I've been to Cuba and its a great place. Yes the standard of living (middle class) is lover than in US/Canada and Europe. They don't have the same consumer culture like we do. But you don't see extreme poverty there. There is almost none "hobos" wandering the streets, and in a town like Havana with 2 million inhabitans that truly is remarkable. To bad the trade blockade is still in effect after 40 years and now 21 years after the wall its time to think new.

Look at the USSR!" the revolution got AWAY from the real socialist goals very early, and by the 30s it was completely dead. Cuba is a far better example, with zero homelessness, 100% literacy, and in SPITE of the cruel, illegal US blockade they STILL have lower infant mortality than the US and a health care system that actually cares for the sick and hurt, not just wealthy and insured. @PrisonerNumber9653 yeah. I've been to Cuba and its a great place. Yes the standard of living (middle class) is lover than in US/Canada and Europe. They don't have the same consumer culture like we do. But you don't see extreme poverty there. There is almost none "hobos" wandering the streets, and in a town like Havana with 2 million inhabitans that truly is remarkable. To bad the trade blockade is still in effect after 40 years and now 21 years after the wall its time to think new.

@Dextomus IFCO and Pastors for Peace are on the way now, with the prayers of thousands of supporters with them. They crossed over this week, 21st trip, for the first time ran into more trouble from Mexican authorities than US, oddly enough, but they're through. I very much look forward to traveling with them some day. I'm a long-time coach and love sports, especially youth sports, and look forward to traveling with Pastors for Peace with sports equipment for these kids!

For example the USA's life expectancy is lower then most, their child infant mortality rate is higher as well. These are two common ways to measure internationally how well health care works.
