  • Why does this have the beginning to "Closer to the Borderline" in it?

  • you know, I'm a metal head and for some reason I really like Billy Joel. There is just something about his music that comes off as incredibly bad ass.

  • Oh my God!!! I was playing around on my piano and I played a riff that was SO familiar, but I couldn't place it. I knew it was Billy Joel and I knew it was on an album I don't own at the moment, but I couldn't remember what song it was. It took me over 30 minutes to realize it was Stiletto!

  • First record (LP) I ever bought.

  • 52ND STREET IS ONE AWESOME CD

  • A song not off his best album, but a good track...

  • THANKS!!! I wore this album out when I was a teenager. Glad to revisit.

  • love it.

  • from 52 street first ever cd class record

  • great song, but it sounds like it was recorded in a tin can.

  • Is that Liberty Devitto on the far left

  • @blutocampbell yeah they all look cool

  • Great song.. but quality sucks!

  • Another great song my the Master. Awesome. Love the jazz in 52nd Street album. His band was killer too.

  • If I knew how, I'd post lot's of Joel's, Zepp's, Floyd's, and the fab four's Songs in high quality. But unfortunately...making videos is something I never quite figured out. Great song, Shitty quality. Too bad I can't fix that. So I'll just stick to my Zune Media Player.

  • I recognize Doug Stegmeyer (the bassist) Billy (of course), and Richie Cannata (sax and keyboards) but who's the other guy?

  • @gambler108

    Liberty Devitto, the drummer.

  • @doppler519 Oh. =P

Didn't recognize him with the shades and beard

    xD

  • You don't own a y-cable either.

  • Bob Fosse used this in one of his movies. Star80 or All That Jazz. Maybe both.

  • I have "Piano Man",Streetlife Serenade","The Stranger","52nd St",and "Glass House".I wasn't to particularly interested in any of his albums after that.Just a few cuts from some of them.

  • @50marioD It is 'Glass Houses' by the way and what about the 'Turnstiles' album?

  • Heard this on a great rap track. It introduced me to his excellent songs.

In the U.K I'd only heard of his women strife.

    Exceptional.

You almost believe you lived in New York in the 70's.

  • kool g rap nigga!

  • Love the music, vocals, and lyrics. Very underappreciated song by one of the all-time best singer/songwriters.

  • Cool G Rap AND DJ POLO, Hip Hop Sampled and it introduced me to this song. lol

  • To me,this is one of Billy's best...Always falls in the shadows of the standards...

  • I agree !!

  • i have 52nd street and the stranger, and river of dreams and innocent man

1st two records 2nd two cds

  • Kool G Rap sampled that piano intro on "Road to the Riches"

  • you are correct on this one.

  • billy joel is my inspiration he is incredible

  • That's right one of the greatest... all the songs of billy are great anyway but this one... wow! the rythm, the melody, the saxo solo very rock... Awesome! I love this song!! Liberty and Billy are so talented in this song!

  • Thank you Billy = *

  • my favorite billy joel song, thanks for posting! but just wondering, do you have one with better quality? if you do please post it

  • Love the intro to this song :)

  • Some of the best lyrics of any Billy Joel song. Very clever.

  • one of my favorite!!!!!

  • i'm just learning this one on piano, this is about the most fun i've had on piano, great song too, i'm surprised it wasn't a greatest hit...then again, every song of Billy's is a greatest hit
